Budapest is in Robert Pattinson fever, who is here shooting the film adaptation of Maupassant’s Bel Ami.
Hundreds of twenty-somethings are lurking around the Opera, on the Pollack Mihály Square and around the American Embassy, hoping they can get a smile, a picture, an autograph and a bit more in Hungarian than „köszönöm, hogy csendben vagytok” (Thanks, for being quiet.) The messy-haired, shy, tight-lipped lad, who was sleeping at his agent's two years ago, was happy if they let him on screen, but never wanted the hysteria that surrounds him now.
Robert Pattinson (for those living under a rock: Twilight, New Moon) is conquering Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci on the streets of Budapest, used for scenes of Paris, in the film adaptation of Maupassant’s novel, Bel Ami. Judging by the pictures he looks just as good with a serious face, wearing tailcoats and top hats as he is giggling, pulling his messy hair, wearing a misbuttoned shirt and jeans that slipped to his hips – the way he looked during our meeting in New York, a few days before he left for Budapest.

Q: Tell us a little about auditioning for “Remember Me” to being on set to now seeing it on the big screen.
A: The audition process for “Remember Me” was a nightmare. I had to go in four separate times over the course of a few months. The first time I went in I didn’t think I was right for the part, I had only read half the script and I forgot my sides. I was off to a great start. I was told that I had done great, but they were going to try and find a “name” in L.A. If they didn’t find a name then I would be in the running. I figured that was it, and put it out of my mind. A month later, I got a call that I would be coming back in for the director. I thought the director hated me. I thought I was doing so badly that I almost got and apologized for wasting everybody’s time. Turns out he loved me. A few weeks later I went to meet Rob and do a screen test with him. Luckily, I was performing on Broadway at the time so I could relax a little bit because I new I had a paycheck. Rob was great! The screen test went wonderfully. The director and producer loved me, but Summit still wasn’t sold. I had to go back in a few later to sort of hash out what I would do with the character. The director fought for me and eventually I got the job. It is strange to see it out there. It is completely out of your hands now. It’s an odd feeling. I am extremely proud to have been a part of it. I have read most of the comments and reviews about it. I am so thankful that they love it or hate it — that people are actually talking about it. I love that people actually have an opinion about it and a strong one at that.

Synopsis
After a fight with a cop, Tyler decides to take revenge on him by seducing his daughter. Ally will bring him the peace of mind he was looking forward because Tyler he is a rebellious young man. He is angry at himself, he doesn’t accept the suicide of his brother, he rebels against his father; a famous lawyer. He reproaches him with not showing enough love to his children.
RP: I read this script after shooting Twilight. These 2 stories are completely different. In Remember Me , it’s very honest and that’s why I wanted to do it. I love love stories because we find a lot of things to do.
Robert Pattinson has become an international star thanks to the success of Twilight. He is considered as the new sex symbol in Hollywood and nowadays he is compared to James Dean. He attracts audiences and in fact the shooting of Remember Me was in NY and the actors had to get used to the screaming fans.
RP: the crowd there was much more important than for Twilight. I remember especially the scene we shot in Central Park, there were more than 2,000 people waiting for something to happen. Ruby, who plays my little sister, and I were spied on. I don’t know what they were expecting. Maybe an explosion. But nothing happened. It was a simple discussion scene .
With Remember Me Robert Pattinson has finally a mature role which enables him to show his talent. A beautiful love story, Remember Me is also a gorgeous drama. Extremely captivating. You won’t forget its ending. Source

ROBERT PATTINSON has landed his dream film role - playing KURT COBAIN in a Hollywood biopic.
The Twilight star has always thought of himself as a musician rather than an actor, he even reckons his guitar is his best friend.
So securing a part playing the tragic NIRVANA genius, who shot himself in 1994, is ideal for the pin-up.
R-Patz has been in regular contact with Kurt's widow COURTNEY LOVE, who has been handed a key role in the production by bosses at Universal Pictures.
The HOLE singer wanted R-Patz as Kurt and SCARLETT JOHANSSON to portray her. My graphics team have mocked up Rob and Scarlett as the hellraising pair.
A source said: "This is a big money deal for Courtney.
"She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music.
"Robert has been calling and emailing her non-stop. She has been a bit wound up by his manners, but he is her number one choice to play Kurt." (Kat: In her dreams this has been happening)
"She is adamant Scarlett will play her. Scarlett is friendly with FRANCES BEAN, her daughter with Kurt." (Kat: Well of course, wouldn't we all choose someone, erm... slightly more attractive, to play us in a movie?)
Courtney has been in touch with director DAVID FINCHER about the project, which has the working title All Apologies.
He was behind Fight Club, Se7en and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
It's not the first time a studio have tried to make a film about Nirvana, who had hits with Come As You Are and Smells Like Teen Spirit.
A few years ago Sony Pictures were told to sling their hook by Courtney when they floated the idea of ZAC EFRON as Kurt, while Frances Bean would play her mum.
I have to say, the 14-year-old in me was a little bit sick when I found out a Twilight vampire was playing a rock idol.
But at least it's an improvement on the man lined up to play Kurt in the West End - Footballers' Wives star GARY LUCY.
Is Robert Pattinson going from fanging to head banging?
The Sun raised eyebrows EVERYWHERE this morning with a report that Pattinson “has landed his dream film role — playing Kurt Cobain in a Hollywood biopic.” Noting that Pattinson “has always thought of himself as a musician rather than an actor,” the paper says “securing a part” as the late Cobain “is ideal for the pin-up.”
A hero of the grunge rock scene with Nirvana, Cobain killed himself in 1994.
According to the Sun story, Pattinson was so determined to play the part, he vigorously lobbied Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, who supposedly wants Scarlett Johansson to portray her in the project.
The paper’s “source” claims Pattinson “has been calling and emailing [Love] non-stop,” and that he is “her number one choice to play Kurt.”
So did the Sun score a big casting scoop?
Not to be “curt,” but no.
The rumor is just plain wrong. A source close to Pattinson tells Gossip Cop there is “no accuracy” to today’s report.
