LMAO, yep, it's tucked! I had a good 30 minutes of staring at it before I decided to post :)

it's like the scene from Silence of the Lambs...

Goz, i love all the warnings. It's like dont look if you dont want to be scarred for life if you are young.

holy crappola

Loisada said...

I understand your misgivings Gozde, but this shot is going to be splashed around everywhere in nothing flat. Might as well have it start here where it'll be received with love!

The mirror shot is actually a very beautiful, feminine portrait... exactly what I'd expect from this Dali scenario. Very personal and brave thing for a young actor to do. Even harder than rough and tumble "macho" stuff like Brokeback Mountain...

This is going to earn him flack and praise at the same time. Get that publicist moving man!

You said it perfect "Loisada", could not have said it better.

I agree also Loisada. Tucked...oh well, too bad we couldn't at least have had a nice butt shot. :) This movie is going to shock a lot of people. I'm sure there will be bad and good things. Got admit the guys got ahem b***s to do this kind of stuff! lol We still love you Rob!

Don't feel bad at all for posting this at least people here support Rob in all shapes, size's, forms.

It's already posted over at PerezHilton, where he of course made a comparison between Rob and Zac Efron (I'm so sick of this comparison...there is none). I use to enjoy that blog, but more and more I wonder why. It's all about negativity.

Rob is an actor, he took on a role that probably took a lot of courage, and I'm sure it's a great artistic movie. I just feel bad for those that can't separate and appreciate the actor/REAL PERSON, with flaws, from the characters.

Anonymous said...

This is him, it's definitely not fake and it looks like the real deal spoiler clip from Little Ashes!!
Who needs photoshop Rob?? I love the real deal!!
Poor thing, once this movie is released? WoW, Rob is in for a whole lot of security need!!
~raises hand~ I volunteer!!! HEHEEH

Adoll said...

It's better to be seen here with the warning. I hope it doesn't cause Rob too much embarrasment. He is such a brave, talented young actor. I hope he receives much praise for this film. I sent my local artsy theater info about the movie asking them to show it.

Greenie said...

OMG - now we know why Rob was wearing the darth vadar hood :). Wow - i don't know what to say. thanks for posting it Goz. Like others have said, it's gonna be everywhere anyway.

Anonymous said...

Yes, very Dali indeed!
Love the shot - I'm sure it is wonderful in the movie. I do worry about how people will take it out of context and make all kinds of inappropriate remarks - not here - but everywhere else. Positive vibes to Rob, everyone! xo

Christy said...

Sara, I want details. cjh304@bellsouth.net

Perez is ridic. Rob could have a six pack if he wanted it, but he doesn't. He also doesn't have an addiction to bronzer like Zacquisha. Rob is so much more than Zack Efron could even hope to be.

And with this comment, I have officially hopped the train to crazy town.

Greenie said...

Just to clarify - I didn't mean that he was wearing a darth vadar hood the other night b/c I think he looks bad (which he doesn't!) - I just think he'll be embarrassed once he finds out this pic is all over the web. When he made this movie, he didn't think anyone would see it and now look! He already said he pushed his boundries on what he was comfortable with doing and that he hates his pictures - my guess is he'll be mortified that this is particular shot is flying around as a still pic.

Lilly said...

Flaws? I don't see any. He's not a body builder but who the f cares? Come here, Rob.

Hannah said...

Gozde!! This is why I love you. (Well this and EVERYTHING else you do with the blog!) I had this image in my head since I saw Little Ashes but had convinced myself it must have been a dream!

This man can do no wrong. As a young actor to take on the role of Dali and do a Mangina on an open set.. Jeez, Respect!!

Sara said...

It seems the mystery has been unveiled but have to say that Robert was absolutely phenomenal in this film. I honestly can't stop thinking about it and counting down the days till it's released in cinemas so I can watch it again (taking anyone who will listen with me).
While you're watching it's not like you're watching a performance, Rob is so convincing; it feel's very real and raw.
But not to disregard Javier, he was also stunning. I hope he is involved in more projects after this.

Crazy Lady said...

Okay, now if he can do this scene than we should expect a freakin' shirtless Rob in New Moon, at least!! That's all I'm saying! This is my happy place now. = D
I like your "secret post", Gozde!!
Is it bad I still haven't stepped away from looking at this pic*sigh*.

But you are right he is going to need more security after this....poor guy! Be safe, Rob...hehe, my dorky side had to use that line, sorry. = )

It looks like they may have "groomed" his hair down there for this. But Oh my Effing God. It's so wrong but I want to jump that man so bad. I mean my mouth litteraly fell open and started watering. Damn why did it have to be tucked.

kristen said...

Holy Shitballs Batman! I can't believe Rob had the balls (literally) to do this - he is a brave brave soul. I honestly didn't think it was possible to respect and admire him more than I already did, but seeing this has done just that... To do a scene like this as a fairly young actor, on an open set where no one speaks your language is just mind boggling to me. I mean, if you think about it, he didn't really have any kind of support system that he could go to to discuss/vent his thoughts & fears. I can't believe the amount of inner strength and confidence it must have taken to make this film - it just makes him even more sexy.

his body is so gross!!! i kinda puked in mouth a little!

I think that what Rob is doing as an actor is hard enough without all the negative comments from so of you. My props to the ones who are still supporting him during this difficult film. He knew what he was getting into and still went ahead and did it. This picture just shows how artistic he can be and how he is becoming a more talented actor. I will always support Rob no matter what type of movie he does or doesn't do.

Anonymous said...

Accomplishing this kind of character portrayal in Little Ashes as a shy 21 year old!!!........look out Hollywood cause nothing is going to stop him.

Anonymous said...

mopar_babe72:
Yes there's always been something about Rob that reminds me about Heath Ledger. I hope Rob stays grounded and has the support of his family and he doesn't let his roles take over his life the way Heath did.
I love Rob beccause he's so passionate about acting and becomes the character body and soul but I hope he realises its only a job and not to risk his happiness and health over a job.

But to be fair, I think Heath being separated from his baby daughter after his separation with Michelle probably had a big effect on him, not just acting.

Anonymous said...

On a separate note: LOVE the screencap!

I thought it would be gross and I was VERY nervous to look at it but its very beautiful, arty/poetic and oddly feminine hehe.

Its amazing that its actually like a professional artist's photo or painting instead of a movie still isn't it?
WOW!

Rob doing this at 21!
Nothing will stop Rob reaching the top now!

SPOILERS WILL BE IN THIS COMMENT.
SPOLIERS. SPOILERS.
(very sorry for the extremely long comment)

Since some asked, I'll just say as much as I can remember about this scene.
It's actually not all that or shocking, but very much Dali.
Near the start of the film when he's still settling into the school and has made friends with Lorca and Bunuel, he is standing in front of the mirror choosing what to wear.
It's filmed in a clever way to create the sense of quirkiness Dali has and you see him in lots of different outfits -a turban and tunic-type top included- and the last one is him standing in the mirror, naked waving a cigarette around as if trying out a different 'persona'.
It cuts to the next scene that we all know, as he meets up with Lorca & Bunuel to unveil his new clean-cut look.

Have to say to those who comment on his body, that (i do not know if it was intended) it fit very well with Dali's whole personality. He was awkward, shy and altogether quite strange so if he had hard pecs I believe it would ruin the character he was trying to bring across.

On another note, the chemistry between the two actors was off the scale. Nothing compared to Kristen. There was so much sexual tension, my heart was literally thumping.

And in reply to Jeri, I loved the film. I honestly can't stop thinking about it. Rob's best work to date. No competition.

i love rob like yall do...but i cant help to not be attracted to this pic at all. i dont know if its the angle of hid body or what. his body looks....i cant even think of a word for it. im not trying to be negative. its just my reaction. i wanna see what his body looks like now

Anonymous said...

i don't understand the negative comments in other site, he's not the first actor to do a frontal nudity in a movie. and its an artsy movie about an eccentric artist, that scene has a purpose in showing his character, Dali.

but props to Rob for doing this, kinda reminds me of Leonardo DiCaprio in Total Eclipse and Ewan McGregor in Velvet Goldmine, the similarity is not just the frontal nudity, but they all were just unknown actors in those movies, but it showcased what they can do as an actor.

and i must say his body doesn't look bad, its actually nice, very normal looking, very average body of a regular guy. which is great, shows he is not that perfect like what everybody thinks he is.

Just a little worried as to how he is going to take it as the said that if it wasn't for him it probably would not have been released at all. Now they are EVERYWHERE.
ANd he seem just so shy and awkward about all this.Twihype stuff now.

Hey Guys, I've been eavesdropping on your conversations for weeks now but this is my first time to comment :P
Takes for posting this pic and amazingly I did not find it in anyway erotic..it is beautiful and poetic instead..
This scene seemed to be tastefully done
I admire Rob for doing this film, even though as he said it pushed him to go beyond what he was comfortable of doing..just showed his dedication to his acting...

I hate those comments about him not being in shape...maybe he just know that it is not his body or his flesh that is important in the scene but its significance to the whole movie.

Hi all!
I seriously can't understand all this excitement. As I am German we (so it seems) have not this "ugh-feeling" when it comes to nudity. I never forget when we were with our little son on the beach in Florida leaving him enjoy sand and water and sun naked. All the Americans filing by were shocked and said "eew- look he's naked". What's so wrong with nudity. It's a movie for crying out loud, just a movie and he's an actor - so what? We all look that way and the nudity has really something to do with the role he's playing, to transport the time, the people, the thinking and feeling of this particular people in the film. I just want to congratulate him, that he's find the gutts to do so anyway whether people find this shocking or not. I gues maybe he just did this because he wants to be an independent actor and not an "Edward" for lifetime. But maybe he just (as an Englishman) is not as prude an American. I just wonder where this double standards are coming from. I experienced once a "spring break" in Daytona Beach and I can say, even as a German - I was embarrassed what those American Teens do and say. How can that be?
So you all calm down and take it what it is - a movie role and not Robert himself.
Don't get me wrong - I love America - I'm there very often.
yours Billy

Hi guys, I saw Little Ashes in a special screening here in London on Sunday night. Trust me, this scene - like the rest of the film was so beautifully done you won't have a problem with it. In particular at this scene we were laughing at Dali's antics. The film is so brilliant and sensitively done; the script, directing, acting and music. Even the lighting was amazing. You will laugh, be shocked and cry (well I did).

Exactly. His body looks perfectly normal to me and very nice, too. Six-packs aren’t normal, only a few guys have them by nature, for the others it means a lot of hard work and – most likely – some kind of diet. There are enough actors with eating disorders already; we don’t need another one, so stay that way, Rob, please.

Moreover, it is a fact that any film-camera will put on 5 virtual kilos (> 10 pounds) to every actor (this is why so many actresses are trying to fit in size zero – which might look good on screen but looks pretty awful in real life).

Anonymous (March, 31 2009 4:55 PM) wrote: I think he has a great body for someone who does not exercise! That is the advantage of being young and tall!!

Yep, I wish I could live on pizza for a whole year, like Bobby Long said they did, and look like that.

@ Billy: It’s probably the Puritan heritage that explains both.

I was nervous about following the links because some things are better left to the imagination. But, I have to say, I also found that I don't see Rob standing there but instead, it's Dali. I'm really glad that Rob felt that he could take risks, like this role, this early in his career or we would have been cheated out of this performance. It is the perfect contradiction to Twilight and truly shows his range of skills. Thanks Rob, for sharing your talent with all of us!

i dont know if this comparison is right but i'm beginning to see rob has the makings of becoming the male version of kate winslet, that is, when it comes to honing his talent and having the courage to take on roles that would further challenge his craft. i won't be surprised if in the not too distant future, rob will be up there in kodak theater accepting his first oscar :)

Every country has its own set of social standards, so you just have to do your best to honor them. In Egypt, I wore a headscarf out of respect. Yet, in Turkey, while I was feeding a stray dog at a tourist site, a German tourist made fun of me..."Those Americans! They always try to save every stray dog..."

I don't think Rob expected this film to be released (he said this himself).

So if you have seen the movie can you please explain - what do you actually see in the movie?

There is a diff. pic of Rob Patz that has been circulating on the web. that is a similar, but it's just a reg. photo shot pic. I don't know how old it is, Not that old I'm guessing..but I ran across it one day looking for pics of crows. Because it was titled Holy Crow. It's Rob with a blk fur coat and he is pulling his pants down. Let's just say there is not too much left to the imagination, except for the actual part. I to have a hard time ogling Rob, I feel bad and with pics like this. It's hard sometimes resisting
the temptation. Have you seen it? What is the e-mail to your post and I can send it to you.

Dali is obviously trying to pose like a woman in this shot hence the tuck-in! It isn't exactly erotic for that very reason, it's his pose that turns me off rather than his body. A very brave actor especially at his young age. It reminds me of Daniel Radcliffe's bold decision to go naked onstage in Equus.
I missed the London screening of Little Ashes despite being on the official Little Ashes mailing list - for some reason the emails they send me only relate to screenings in America which is pretty frustrating as I live in England!
Will have to wait till it comes out on Dvd I suppose, unless it does get a UK cinema release.

Okay I think people forget Rob is really an artist. You can see from his choice of projects. He wants to do different kinds of films and seems to select his parts or parts he is going to audition for based on the script or story.

This story is a very interesting story; Dali was so petrified of saying what he wanted and he wanted this other man and the idea of it scared the living hell out of him. This scene is very important to the story, he really doesn't know who he is and is trying to just fit in.

I know it's hard to remember that Rob is just another guy...an actor who is playing parts because let's face it, he's a beautiful man...but we should try and remember that alot of actors are brave enough to do films and projects like this because it's story they want told.

Wow, I'm floored. I think we are just beginning to see the range that Rob is capable of in this film. Much respect to him for doing this. Can't wait to check out the movie.

Meanwhile, objectively, I'd be stoked to wake up next to that. For the sake of the minors reading this blog, I'll stop there. ;)
