I saw the movie two days ago. I enjoyed it. There were a few laughs.
I have to say I've never been in a place where so many girls have giggled on mass wherever there was a guy with his shirt off. Taylor got the first reaction and then there was another big one when Rob took his off. It was crazy but it was fun.

OMG!!!! You got a gif of the f*ckhawt walk and smirk! I love you! I am DIED....THUD.
Best. Walk. EVER!

Without a doubt one of my favourite parts of the film. Could that guy be any more gorgeous!! Have seen it twice and have found another friend, who hasn't seen it, to come with me and feed my addiction. It improves on repeat viewings you get to notice all the other good bits, apart from Rob. Love Thom Yorkes song.

Oh yes, this scene left me breathless... the best entrance ever...

The walk...
The wind doing those things to his shirts...
The smirk...
And this sexy stare at the end...

I love Robward in slow motion!!!

One thing that makes me laugh in the movie is when Harry tells Bella not to worry cos he's got his Kung-Fu or something. At that point he really reminds me of Kung-Fu Panda! lol
Favourite parts of the movie though are THE walk, Shakespeare (could it sound any sexier???), E&B reunited, and E asking if Bella could ever forgive him. I also really liked the part where E talks about suicide... There was such a restraint intensity yet nonchalance in that part - IMO obviously

Doremon you made feel sane! i totally agree with you I'm soooo disappointed in the movie for all the resons you have said and also because it was very slow the dialogue so brief and stretched!! it was like a school show where every character is entitled to one line!it felt so artificial, Edward's lipstick was horrible and smudgy! I can't believe the reunion scene was deleted a hug a push where are the scenes in the promotions and trailer are they cut for commercial reasons for the DVD release this is stupid..Cathrine Hardwicke was so clever making the most of what she had and it turned out perfect.NM had messed up its potential. Nothing surprising was there it was collection of spoilers sorry to say.

@Doremon --> I can definately agree on one thing: Melisa Rosenberg is a poor screenwriter and I wish she was replaced long time ago.

Super hot GIF.
I seriously here the song that's playing when he's walking across the parking lot, even when it's not there.

Loved this scene, Bella's face was a picture because it looked like she was about to melt into a puddle on the ground. I'd have joined her I think ! lol

Hi everybody... Finally I saw the movie in Dubai , it really was great and interesting. I really enjoyed watching it . The director made a great job. Rob was really great and I love all his scenes, specially when he was smiling. This man has a beautiful smile mmmm.

Gwen Cooper 426 said...

Love The Walk scene, seriously swoon-worthy. The smirk just kills me and in slo mo? I called it Rob's Rockstar entrance in my head---music vid and windblown hair...

And yes, Bella's expression---"Yummy and ALL MINE"...hell, licking her lips would have been appropriate too!

And trust me, seen the movie five times, yes 5, LOVE IT. Better and better each time. I'm sure we could all find things to nitpick, but maybe because NM wasn't my fav book, I had no grand expectations (it's so depressing and I missed Edward!)---NM followed the book and the additions made it even better IMO (fight scene in Volterra, the humor!).

Just go in and enjoy the gorgeous scenery (including Rob) and have fun at the movie!!!

think I'm going for round 3 in a few minutes. By myself, how pathetic is that? Hubs gave a flat out NO to accompanying me. LOL. No worries, I can just say more Rob for me, with no interruptions. LOL.

I.. I thought over all New Moon was pretty good... definitely a major improvement from Twilight which was just laughable.

But there are some big PROs and CONs in this movie:

1. I'm just not feeling the chemistry between Edward and Bella... It's just not there, for most parts! :(
I don't really look into the Robsten thing much, i embrace Goszde's motto.. :) I don't really care who he's with... but i just don't feel them as a couple neither onscreen or offscreen. (If you have ever been in love... you know there's that special LOVE look. :p)and well i don't see it.
Maybe they really are a couple and are so preoccupied in keeping their feelings private that it's affecting their performance! :p

2. I like how Kristen inputs this strength in Bella, but the break up scene lacked a LOT more passion on her behalf. It's climax #1 on the book and in the movie it was emotional but kinda plain. :(

3. I think Chris Weitz did and amazing job but cutting so short the Edward and Bella reunion (Edward/Bella Climax #2)was just a big mistake... they could have cut shorter, parts that weren't as relevant and add seconds to the finale.

4. Rob's makeup is better... but tons of improvement could be made. I'm sure his natural shade of lips would suffice against that super pale skin. I doubt the need for lipstick! :(

5. THANK GOD for Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black!!!! Rob is right, this movie really is his!!! He carried it brilliantly and he seemed to bring out the best in Kristen as Bella. That is what i call having chemistry!!! (And I'm not just biased by the 8 pack, lol)

6. The special effects improved by like a 1000%, the wolves were amazing... and the Volturi fascinating!!!, not how i imagined them but loved it. Michael Sheen as Aro was the best!

7. Kudos on the music!! :) This was way better than on twilight! I'm not saying the soundtrack was bad last time, because i LOVE most of the songs individually but the timing as part of the movie it was a disaster. (I like the meet me on the Equinox song... and i didn't hear that anywhere :(

So there... my rant/review.. jajaja. New Moon major improvement from Twilight!!! If they keep this up, by Breaking Dawn maybe they'll nail it! :)))

rpattzgirl survived Rob! said...

Well I for one think the movie is amazing even though it was a bit rushed.

I would love CW to take on breaking dawn..

I am seeing it again for the 5th time today..

I agree, just sit back and enjoy the beauty...

@ Doremon: I just watched the clips of the Jimmy Kimmel show. Sorry, I could not see any jealousy. At all. What I did notice: Taylor sat on the couch like an "alpha male", he and Kristen seem comfortable in each other's company - and Kimmel's reaction was really fast.

Hey people! :) I don't ever write comments but I just got back from seeing New Moon and I want to say the movie is BRILLIANT! Chis is a genius and the cast is extremely talanted!
I really don't understand why the critics are so bad...I guess it IS a cynical world we live in :(

And that scene is just great.

saw it last night. Chris did an AMAZING job and id love him to be back for BD.. The humans made the movie (other than rob haha) their lines were great.. and i did slightly fall for jacob, but only a little bit.

but

WHAT THE HELL Melisa Rosenberg should be fired! i wanted to cry, actually i expected to cry during the break up scene but it just didnt do it for me at all.. only time i teared up was when charlie was telling her she had to go to jacksonville...

so many cringe moments! and i saw it with my bf who didnt read the book and he had so many questions, i know its made for the fans but god they do need to explain some things a little more!!!

im counting down till remember me! x

Maybe someone has already pointed this out, but in the scene with Bella and Alice in the car in Italy, you can see the bruises on Bella's right arm from when Edward held it so hard when he sucked the venom after James' bite. I thought that was such a cool detail.

I LOVED New Moon, I thought it was very faithful to the heart and soul of the book. Kristen was amazing and carried the movie with a subtle and sensitive performance. Taylor completely nailed Jacob. Rob, as he did in Twilight, lifted the movie to another level. He was luminescent and other-worldly and magical.

I've seen it twice. Going again this weekend.

jh said...

I also thought it LOOKED beautiful. I'm still a bit doubtful about the Hansel and Gretel scene though....it must have something to do with Alice's taste in clothing...

xoRobxo said...

@cerulean blue~theres no way those bruises are from Edward holding Bella's arm while sucking out the venom. In the book~almost a whole year has gone by from the time james bite Bella to the time she is going to Italy.

Seems like those should have been removed by post production.

They do show her scar from the bite though

I loved it the first time (but yes there are flaws), and I loved it even more the second time.

jh said...

Yeah, you're right, they can't be bruises...way too much time has passed, what was I thinking? They looked so authentic though!

Gwen Cooper 426 said...

Regarding the bruises,
a) Bella is CLUMSY. Seeing as she pretty much just jumped off a cliff, not surprising she has bruises on her arm(s) and/or has been hanging with werewolves (and riding motor bikes)...
b) Kristen mentioned in an interview that she was bruised from filming in Italy (fountain scene in particular); she had obvious bruises during MTV (?) award ceremony...

So, thinking combination of both; no one thought it worthwhile to cover in post-production as it fit the character...

Been reading ff all day; stopped back in here for a look at Rob and that slo mo WALK.... Excellent gif that.

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF THE MOVIE. ROBERT LOOKS SO "SEXY" AS HE IS WALKING TOWARDS KRISTEN.
WHEN THE MOVIE COMES OUT ON DVD I WILL BE WATCHING THIS SCENE OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

if people kept saying that there were no chemistry between E/B, then i would said that Rob played Edward very convincing in newmoon. Remember, he had to make bella believe that he didn't love her so he could leave her.
Kristen also did very good job with her expression. After the reunion scene she still didn't believe that edward leaved her for her own good, that's why her face didn't show the love between them.

i dont know, i think i really understand why rob and kristen portrayed E & B interaction like that, cos this is new moon, a sad story and full of depression. their relationship was taken to another step, not only show the love side but also the bad side.

taylor did a good job too but he still not stole me from edward side, i dunno, i think something missing from his performance. maybe about angry side of jacob, or the dark side of jacob, i didn't see he portrayed that well.

i've watched newmoon twice, and the last one i could concentrate really well cos nobody scream at my theatre.i think im enough of newmoon at theatre now, im waiting for dvd now and of course ReMember Me :).

tina tri said...

I saw new moon with my sis, and I am dissapointed, Chris as totally destroy what CH build in Twilight. The cullens make up, hair, eye contacts, clothes are terrible. CW will be the director who destroyed the franchise. Never change the winning team.
My sister was horrified to see edward make up like a joker. And Alice vision of E/B in their hansel and gretel clothes, people were laughing at the theatre!
Kristen tato eyebrow was so unatural......

Catherine deserved every award she got for Twilight, I just saw it again on DVD, she is a genius, the cast, the look, the mood , the music was perfect. I cried at the prom scene. The poster, the still was classy. NM poster and stills was so fugly and cheap.

I understand why Roger Ebert and Peter Travers from Rolling Stone gave NM the thumbs down (they were so dissapointed that they don't bother to give NM a proper review), last year they praise Twilight specially Rob and Kristen.....

Catherine Hardwicke for BD, bring E/B romance back because thats the only thing that draws us to the Twilight.

The only reason the fan watch NM because of Twilight success

Twilight = Elegant , Beautiful,deep
NM = Thrash, shallow, cheesy

hi. i just watched new moon two days ago and i am STILL reeling from it. i need to ask, where can i get that gif image of Edward? i am SO in love with it :D

phosphorus said...

@ Doremon: Uhm, you did hear about British humour, didn't you? Rob loves to joke, so don't read to much into these quotes.

xoRobxo said...

@Tina~Uhmmm... I totally respect your opinion. But I think you may be alone (or one of very few)on this one. I thought Twilight was horrible and was terribly disapointed walking out the first time I seen it. From the horrible editing through out the movie and cheesy special effects to putting in scenes that didn't need to be there while leaving out importanct stuff (uhmmm like... I love you for one of many)I thought Chris Wietz hit it out of the park. My only complaint would be it was too fast paced after they left the Volturi and I would have like to see more from the book (plane ride home, Charlie getting huffy with Edward, voting around the table and Edward storming off and busting the TV, more form chapter 23)

xoRobxo said...

I forgot to add~ that the makeup in Twilight was really bad. I thought NM was a improvement. I think the eyes are more to the way they are discribed in the book~but were a big differnce form Twilight. As for the Alice vision to Aro~I don't really get it except I think that maybe they were playing off the fact that Bella reads all those period type of books. Kristens eyebrows tattoed??? Huh... those are her own I do believe. I acutally think she has very nice ones

tina tri said...

hi Xo, I am not alone in my perception, I hv read many of the same, reviews are personal, its not because of like or dislike, I saw NM with an open mind and was dissapointed. Twilight was magic. surreal and pure. CW doesn't have the feel , vision and capability for this kind of movie. Tim Burton and CH has that special gift to create that fairytale type of a movie.

As a Rob fan, I just hope he stick to indie in the future, this studio type of movie will destroy him.

Unknown said...

I guess I'm in the minority. I thought NM was a big bore for the most part. But then again the book wasn't great either.

Twilight while no masterpiece was so much better and evoked an indie spirit. NM was a wanna-be big studio picture fail IMO.

1. Since this is a RP site, I will comment on his performance. He was good better than Twilight. Even though he wasn't present in the book, I felt that the movie underutlitized his strengths, mainly his interaction/devotion to Bella. In the beginning, Chris W. could have done a few more school scenes to show how EB relationship progressed from Twilight. The reunion scene both in Italy when Bella first embraces him and back at home was choppy, bad editing maybe? Overall RP showed growth as an actor and with this character and was underutlized (it was not enough to see his images in her thoughts - lame).

2. Jacob/Wolf Pack were not as bad as I thought they would be and CW did a good job staying true to the book. But I still didn't like this storyline and dialogue at all. TL despite his best efforts could not create any of the chemistry - even the close bond and friendship he was supposed to forge with Bella.

3. Music/Score sucked. Maybe I'm the only fan of Carter Burwell. I thought his beautiful piano and guitar solos really matched the somber, independent spirit of Twilight. The NM score and soundtrack was not memorable at all. Why would they replace the key music in a sequel? That's rarely done.

4. No memorable scenes in NM like Twilight. Catherine Hardwicke created moments - 1. EB in the trees, beautiful music in the background - cutting to E playing piano, 2. meadow scene, 3. prom scene. All these were 'moments' that captured the EB relationship. I felt like CW ran out of time when he could have created moments like this in the beginning and end of the movie with EB. The EB chemistry was lacking. When Bella tells Jacob 'it will always be Edward' one would have no idea why unless you watched Twilight.

4. Ending - campy, cliche, corny, etc. Typical bad studio can't even call it a cliffhanger. Basically to draw people into Eclipse

In summary, Twilight was an exception. Not the best movie but one that created memorable characters and had an indie spirit. Catherine Hardwicke should be given credit. Chris Weitz definitely went the studio route focusing more on CGI and failing to highlight the real story behind Twilight EB. Eclipse I fear will have lost most of Twilight's charm and core message focusing on blood and action. I would not be surprised if we hardly recognize EB anymore. Which is too bad since both Kristen and Rob are pretty decent actors who probably would not have chosen to be typecast like that.

Unknown said...

Just wanted to add to that I totally agree with Tina. For me the franchise has been ruined. I'm not a fan of vmpire movies and the appeal of the EB romance was totally absent in NM. In the book it is not lost during the brief time they are together. CW definitely went the studio route and focused on the vampire and werewolf CGI action.

New Moon came out in Nigeria this weekend! Absolutely loved it (even though i had been reading spoilers here!...lol)My friends and I went all dressed up and in full makeup - GEEKS!
Few bad points- Ashley Greene seemed to be shouting her lines at Kristen at Bella's house, Rob/Kristen chemistry not as hot as Twilight (it could be because of the Directors) I remember Rob saying CW takes things slow while CH was impulsive),it ended too quickly! Eclipse needs to be 3hrs like LOTR movies. Missed the plane scene. Heidi and Giana were shown for 2 seconds!Wolfpack need acting lessons - sorry!
Few good points- loved the music espcially the scene where the wolves chased Victoria. Billy Burke (Charlie) and Jessica were brillant in this.
All in all, it was great. Cant wait to see it again - without the makeup this time ;)

Unknown said...

forgot to add - HATED the score! sounded like something for a swashbuckler movie like Pirates of the carribean. Twilight's was much better. Also, everyone laughed when Alice had her Vamp-Bella vision and when Edward showed his pecs, some girl screamed, "Is she possessed?!" when Bella jumped off the cliff...{she hasnt read the books}lol, the only male in our group kept bugging me with questions,"is he (Charlie)the werewolf? what about him (Mike)? and him (Eric crying in class)?" NO NO NO! Then Jacob phases and he says," ohh, theres the werewolf! Why is it just him, the guy with the 'stache(Charlie) should be a werewolf too?" i guess he was punishing me for forcing him to watch the movie!

About Lena and Dawn said...

Saw NM with my hubby this weekend, who never read the books - made me realize that CW was really catering to those who know the books by heart, as my husband had lots of questions.

As much as I love Twilight and our precious Rpattz, there are a few things that I wish were done better. For instance - as many of you pointed out, I thought Edward's bright red lipstick was distracting and almost laughable. I also wish there was more...emotion in the movie. I liked the dialogue in the breakup scene, but just didn't buy into Bella's pain. In the book, she is lifeless, has a hole in her chest, has no will to carry on. In the movie, she kinda heads in that direction for a few minutes but than seems to recover rather quickly.

Overall I think my expectations were too high because of all the hype, but I agree with the others - I wish they used someone other than Melissa Rosenberg for BD. Some parts were downright cheesy and could've been done much better. I didn't mind the pace of the movie, but it just didn't reach that deep emotional place that the book did. Oh well. Maybe Eclipse will be better. Sorry y'all. Don't hate!
