Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis places #2 on Top 10 list + HD screencaps of the film!

Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis places #2 on Top 10 list + HD screencaps of the film!

Indiewire/ThePlaylist reported that Cosmopolis made the top 10 list for "French movie bible, Cahiers Du Cinema" and not just top 10 but placed #2! Love it when Cosmopolis gets positive recogniztion.

Movieline also had this to say:
And who would've thought, four years ago when the first Twilight movie launched him into the teen idol stratosphere, that Robert Pattinson would not only make the Cahiers du Cinema Top 10 but come in with a film in the #2 slot? Looks like teaming up with Cronenberg was RPattz's best career move, after all.
To celebrate, we have HD screencaps of the film! These images are AMAZING. If you want to save them for your files, there's a link to the zip file at the source. Click HERE if you'd like to download the zip file of screencaps!

Now for a lovely preview of the screencaps. I'm obsessed with the dialogue and might know it by heart so excuse my insertion of the dialogue that's near or from the image. I wasn't going to add it but my fingers didn't stop and I had to let it express itself. ;)

OMG that's shotsessed. lol do i dare to ask how often you watched Cosmo, Tink? the dialog is so wonderful, and that it made #2 on the list is well deserved. now to think he has 10 projects coming up that are probably similar amazing as Cosmopolis makes the fan heart sing. :-) makes me forget the trolls and haters for a sec so i can go to sleep.

That's awesome, and Holy screencaps!!! SOOOO yummy!!!! I can't WAIT to see this movie again!!

So happy for Ronenberg! Very proud Rob fan right now. And still mad at EOne for not letting me watch the movie in the big screen. / :

So glad well respected institution(of some sort)recognized the brilliance of Cosmopolis.More meaningful for me cause it was based on the substance than popularity.Rob and Mr.C so deserved it.

Cosmopolis FTW. Definitely a legend in its own time. Glad that Cahiers du cinema has acknowledged the vast awesomeness that is this film and the many varied talents involved in its making.

Bwen! How are you, sweetheart? I'm waiting for the U.S. Cosmopolis DVD release in Jan 2013. I cannot wait to do a Cosmopolis marathon viewing when it finally arrives.

Gozde said...

Yes! And then we can compare notes...from our differing perspectives. That should be very interesting. lol

Gozde said...

I never was able to see Cosmopolis so these screencaps are sent from Heaven for me! If I scroll through them really fast I can see the movement. How freakin sad is it that I have to wait until JANUARY to finally see this movie!!! It's like a slow torture that never ends. I'm STILL counting the minutes dammit. I respect Rob's choices of roles but I hope that his future movies will be more accessible to all of his loyal fans that want to support him. It's just so difficult to sit here & read all of the wonderful things about Cosmopolis & not be a part of it. So proud but so distant.

Gozde said...

That would be brilliant. I've discovered that a film as complex as Cosmopolis opens itself up to countless interpretations by so many different people which is what great cinema strives for. I'm discovering new perspectives and viewpoints from people who love (and hate) this film. Exciting times methinks!

Gozde said...

I miss you! Glad you're back!

Gozde said...

zola, it's well worth the wait. Btw, I found your description of "scrolling fast to see the movement" very entertaining and funny. :))

Gozde said...

Ditto, can't wait for January 2013!

Gozde said...

;o) definitely!

Gozde said...

Yeah. It's like we're the red-headed stepchild here in the US. AND we probably won't even get any extras on the DVD!

Gozde said...

Try it! It's like flicking through one of those books for kids to show animation. It's really freaky!!

Gozde said...

I greatly second that, Zola..every word you said and then some...So unfair!

Gozde said...

My poor heart breaks accepting the fact that I will never, ever see Cosmopolis in a theater..dammit! I would have loved it in IMAX...HugeRob..Omygoodnessitwouldabeenawesome!!!

Gozde said...

loved cosmopolis !! The last scene Rob had with benno was amazing !! its long more than 20 mins ...but while watching the movie it does not feel long at all , in fact i was sorry it ended ...thats how good Rob is in this scene !!
The scene with Emily Hampshire and the prostrate exam is another mindblowing scene !
had this movie not been such a limited release it would have fared much better at the box office , well made movie !!

Gozde said...

I never got to see it either! They put it up on the coming attractions at my art house theater, The Spectrum, and then they never played it. I was so disappointed. I do feel like I have seen the whole movie with clips and photos, but I will buy the DVD when it comes to the U.S.

Gozde said...

I agree about making more mainstream movies. I mean I love independent movies, but I usually end up watching them in my living room, because they never come to a theater near me.

Gozde said...

I have been boiling 5 lbs of sweet potatoes for over an hour, and it's nice to take a break and come here and read everyone's comments, and of course see Robert!

Gozde said...

I'm so happy for this. I'm a veeeery proud fan :))

Gozde said...

My taters are in the frig b/c turkey-day is on hold until Sunday b/c my son and his wife are working the next 3 days.

Gozde said...

So they don't show his head going splat like it was in the novel? I suppose you can't get any closer to Eric than at the end of the novel. I am just wondering how he does that on film.

Gozde said...

No spoilers Christine...we haven't seen it yet!

Gozde said...

lol i've seen Cosmopolis in the theater more than any other Rob film.

Gozde said...

yes that was hilarious @zola418:disqus

Gozde said...

Maybe this means his other indies will get wider release so hopefully those of us who were denied Cosmopolis at the cinema will get the others there...Maybe we stand a chance after this.

Gozde said...

Yeah, you're right! I feel like a kid again. Whheeeeee .... Heh.

Gozde said...

I agree. Simply unfair. I bet the extra-extras are in BluRay version. Bugger.

Gozde said...

Yeah. Seeing Rob in motion is devine. I just wish that I had the real thing though.

Gozde said...

I remember when the Bel Ami DVD was released in Europe & everyone was talking about the "Making Of" extras with BTS footage. I was so excited to get mine & when it finally was released here in the US all it had was a short interview as the "extras" & I was like WTF?????? I don't get that. Can someone explain to me why the US DVD's don't have the same extras content? It really, really sucks.

Gozde said...

Uh, are you referring to the DVD or to the man himself? LOL. I've witnessed what Mr. Pattinson does to those of the estrogen persuasion, so I assume it's the latter.

Gozde said...

Well....since chances of either are pretty slim right now, I guess that I'll have to settle for my scrolling obsession for now ! Whheeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Gozde said...

I didn't see Bel Ami. But I hear you. Same thing happened with another film I got (Prometheus DVD), all the cool extra footage and deleted scenes were packaged in the 3D Blu Ray pack, not the DVD. It's all about the money, they want the hardcore fans to buy all the different versions. Btw, I'm not sure why, but the way you express your thoughts - you're funny (in a good way)! :))

Gozde said...

WHAT?! I am so jealous. I can't wait to order this movie. The anticipation is killing me.

Gozde said...

great news

Gozde said...

You weren't slighted in PA...lol It wasn't included in the theatrical release at all, as far as I know. I believe there is talk of it being on the dvd....

Gozde said...

Have a feeling we might end up seeing the entire film on site...getting close in caps... ;-D Well deserved accolade in Cahiers for Cosmopolis, and, no, there aren't many who could or would have predicted Rob would end up on the list so soon after his first Twilight. Am really anticipating Map to the Stars because Cronenberg will be testing his own boundaries as well, by shooting in LA -- it will make for an interesting mix...not to mention the actors involved..looking forward to May as well as January... ;-)

Gozde said...

Which doesn't make any sence to me, why should some fans see something different on a DVD extra?

Gozde said...

You guys, you can see it right now--it's online for free at icefilms[dot]info--I just watched it the other night, it's soooo good, actually better than I expected. DC definitely did a good job editing down the book for the screen. And Rob is totally captivating as Eric--he's in every scene so you really get to indulge in him!! And that sex scene with Kendra the bodyguard....OMG it's unbelievable!

Gozde said...

GREAT NEWS!!!! so so happy and proud))))

Gozde said...

And the first place Holy Motors. The French sure love limos!

Gozde said...

You are very lucky. I didnt get to see it in theater..Dont be able to see Robert in big scale is a crime.

Gozde said...

OMG the screencaps. Merry Christmas, everyone ;) I looove all the screencaps and the news. Cosmopolis is not played in big screen in Indonesia, so sad :\ But somehow, I have watched it lol I want to buy the DVD, I need it. He's brilliant in this movie. I have a question that may sounds stupid, though. In the UK Cosmopolis DVD, is there any option for English subtitle? Because I'm gonna need the subtitle when I watch it. If not, then I'll wait until they release the DVD for Asia region.

Gozde said...

It's nice to see Cosmopolis on the Cahiers du Cinéma best of 2012 list. It's the oldest and most respected French film magazine. And there is no doubt in my mind that Rob owes some of his awesome future roles to Cosmopolis. These directors must have seen Cosmopolis and realized that there is more to Rob than Twilight. Nothing wrong with Twilight, he was a great Edward, but the character arch is a bit limited, as Rob himself has said.

France is the country where Cosmopolis did best at the box-office.

Gozde said...

Wow!!! What a great accomplishment! Go, Rob!!!\o/

Gozde said...

Got my Cosmopolis DVD today just in time to celebrate the fantastic news of No. 2 listing. How fantastic is that?????? Rob and David C deserve this so much, congrats guys. Wonderful to hear such acknowledgement. Happy happy news. :-)))))

Gozde said...

This is such a wonderful news !! congrats to Rob and David !! really hope Rob wins some awards for this movie ....dont know which awards this movie will be eligible for as it is a canadian(? ) film !! waiting for the dvd still not available in India .Anyway Rob is getting recognised for his acting chops because of this movie , very very happy about that !!

Gozde said...

I've said that Cosmopolis is my favorite movie of Sir Rob, yeah, and it's amazing how news like these make me satisfied .... expecting more movies like these Rob..... ops and they are coming.

Gozde said...

LOL....scroll down that page and you can practically watch the film :-) like one of those flick booklet things!!

Gozde said...

It seems we do...

Gozde said...

tick tick tick tick tick ...............waiting................tick tick tick tick tick.......................STILL waiting....................................................................if I had a time machine it would be JANUARY right now!

Gozde said...

Me too!
Wow, love the "keep calm and love Rob" look!

Gozde said...

You need to ask again I'm afraid. It's not easy for non speaking English people to get a DVD of an indie movie, is it? Normally there's a version for deaf people with subtitles.

Gozde said...

:( I think so, too. But thanks for your answer. I won't let it ruin my plan to get the DVD lo I think I can do something about the sub, I think ;)
