People Love To Talk About Robert Pattinson Part 180

Well you all know that WE love to talk about Robert Pattinson, we never get tired of it, but it seems that other people also love talking about Rob too and who can blame them?

First up Rob's Director in "Cosmopolis" David Cronenberg had some lovely things to say about him in an upcoming interview with Awards Daily (we'll have the interview up for you as soon as it's out). Can't wait to read it.





Next up Anna Kendrick, she is once again being quizzed on if she has a crush on Rob (that's hardly a fair question, I mean what female doesn't?)

In her short career, Kendrick has already co-starred opposite three of Hollywood’s dreamiest dreamboats: Gordon-Levitt, Rob Pattinson and George Clooney.

Has she gotten a crush on any of them?

“No,” said the actress. “You have to be professional. And you’re around them so much that you begin to think of them as family. It doesn’t cross your mind after a while to think of them (romantically).(Kate: You're a better woman than me Anna. I don't think I could stay professional if that was me in the pic below! )

Anna said : “The only people I might get doe-eyed over are the ’70s versions of Harrison Ford and Paul Newman. Or, like, Cary Grant. So, I don’t think I have anything to worry about on that front. (Kate: Mmmmmm O.K that's fine Anna less competition ;-})

Anna was also asked about kissing Rob (right at the beginning of the video below)



Then Rob's Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson talks about how she can't imagine having the type of fame that Rob has.

Emma has struggled with her fame in the past, but is not getting used to it. She’s come to realise things could be worse for her, citing the life Robert Pattinson now leads as one she’d have issues with.

He appeared in Harry Potter too, but shot to international stardom after landing the role of Edward Cullen in the Twilight films.

“I can’t even imagine what that kind of fame must be like. So many people must wish they were in his position and think that he has the best life, but actually… there are prices you pay. Don’t interpret that from my perspective; it’s not so bad for me. I’m not in Rob’s position, I don’t have people screaming and crying and clawing at me. I’m so grateful for that,” she said.

Anna Kendrick

While promoting her next movie, 50/50, Anna mentioned the fame around Rob & Kristen. She doesn't say Rob's name specifically but it's making rounds. Not sure of the context though. Look:

After being swept up during the awards season for her Oscar-nominated role in 2009′s Up in the Air, Anna Kendrick knows how to summon the Hollywood starlet within. And so she did on the red carpet for Monday night’s New York premiere of 50/50 (opening nationwide tomorrow). But Kendrick tells EW she’s glad she doesn’t have to deal with flashing lights and screaming fans on a daily basis. If only her Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were so lucky. “I feel really, really, genuinely fortunate not to have to deal with that right now,” she admits. “It’s like a prison. It’s a really nice prison, but so what? You still can’t leave your home. I feel happy that that’s not my reality right now.”

Peter Facinelli

Talking to SceneLouisiana, Peter talked about Carlisle and playing a father to Rob:

MH: You’re so young and Carlisle’s very old, this patriarch with gravitas. Was playing an older, wiser character a challenge for you?

PF: Well, when I first read the roll, I was like how am I gonna make this guy who’s like 350 years old but at the same time in appearance, he’s twenty-three. In the books, he’s twenty-three so he has a young appearance with an old soul. Because I’m young, I thought, “How am I gonna be the leader of this family looking so young?” I don’t know how I’m gonna be Rob Pattinson’s dad, you know? When we hang out, I can be his older brother but physically it was a challenge to say, ‘I have to be the father figure.’ So what I did to create the character was, I looked at Carlisle and I did a little bit of history on the last 350 years of his life and what was going on in those times. I kind of gave myself a little history lesson and mapped out his character and his journey through those 350 years and then I felt like, ‘Okay, I’m bringing that knowledge to the screen whether it appears or not, I have that knowledge inside. Then, just making sure he has the leadership qualities and his speech patterns are a little slower and he’s a little more still than a character like Coop, who runs around like he just drank four cans of Red Bull.

While promoting his new album, Nameless Path, out in the UK, Marcus was asked about Rob in a new interview:

It appears one Robert Pattinson is a friend and it transpires Marcus was at school with the Twilight star.

“Yes I was. We’re good friends, and have been for a long time,” he says. “It’s mad what’s happened to him. I’ve met Kristen Stewart through him, who stars in my latest video (I Was Broken). I asked, and she said she’d do it.”

Excerpt from an interview with Gus van Sant:

JC: Is it true that you were in the running to direct "Twilight"?

GVS: Yeah. In an interview, Robert Pattinson was asked, "What's up for the next Twilight?" They had been asked this a thousand times. So he said, "We want to get a filmmaker like Gus Van Sant to do the next one." I was surprised at reading this and I thought, "Am I actually considered? Am I in the running? Would they actually even think that way?" So I told my agent to put my name in the hat.

I went out to the interview and, naively, I wasn't aware that I was expected to sell [myself to] them. They wanted to see your plan even though the plan was to do the movie exactly the way the book read, because if you deviated an inch, you'd be killed by the fans. Of course, the other filmmakers who were much more savvy had long 45-minute displays of these ideas and they got the job. It was a really bad scene because I got really nervous and I realized it was just completely going down. Obviously, I screwed the whole thing up.

It was one of the rare occasions they'd been shot together. Inside, the interview alluded to their real life romance, but as we said before, seeing is believing.

Wow, you’ve had some great luck with your male co-stars.

I’ve definitely had some eye candy. The entire “Twilight” set is eye candy, almost to the point that you feel bad about yourself.

I loved that you pitted Robert Pattinson and George Clooney against each other. How did Pattinson react after Clooney sent him that Esquire cover that said “Dear Rob: Thanks for all the inspiration. I’m a huge fan. Love, George (two-time Sexiest Man Alive)”?

I think Robert was just relieved that George thought it was funny. He was hesitant to do it because he was afraid that he’ll come off as a jerk. It was my idea to have Robert send George his GQ cover.

Anna Kendrick Talks About The "Robert Pattinson Hysteria"

Anna Kendrick's new movie "Up In The Air" has been creating Oscar buzz for her for months now. The movie hit theaters this week and Anna gave an interview to AskMen.com where she talks about Up In The Air and the hysteria surrounding Robert Pattinson:

AM : Have you gotten more attention from the Twilight-ers since you got cast? AK : Yeah. The other great thing is that people just seem to be fine with me. Some people love Rob [Pattinson] and Kristen [Stewart] and some people say a lot of cruel things. And people tend to leave me alone. If they want to say something they tend to say something nice. Its an insane franchise to be a part of, but I got it the easiest out of everyone.

AM : Since the first part of Twilight has the atmosphere changed in terms of fans and paparazzi? AK : Thank God that people exist who know how to take care of that stuff. Otherwise, we’d just be mobbed everyday. They’ve set up a veritable fortress around every location that I’ve shot at with good reason. We live in our little blacked-out bubble.

AM : How do you compare the attention that circles Twilight star Robert Pattinson and George Clooney? AK : From what I’ve seen they get different sides of it. Rob gets a lot of screaming and a lot of prying and a lot of really, really intense praise, which doesn’t necessarily feel good when it’s coming from this hysterical place. Then I see people come to George and because he’s so established, some people try [to] trick him into saying something. And it’s interesting to watch him sidestep that stuff so gracefully and never lose his cool. I don’t know how he does that.

AM : Is there more hysteria around Clooney or Pattinson? AK : Rob Pattinson. I’ve never seen anything like it. Yesterday, people were asking me [at the Up in the Air premiere with Clooney], “Could you believe how crazy this premiere is?” and I was like, you ain’t seen nothing.

AM : Like stampedes and stuff? AK : Comic Con was pretty intense. We were in smaller theaters, and there were no barriers. I was just thinking, they’re feet away, and he’s standing right next to me. This kid is going to lose an eye right next to me. There were four security guards around him but all it takes is one and your eye is gone.

AM : Do you understand why people are so into him? AK : He’s attractive, charming and funny, but do I get why people do that? No.

AM : Do you think it's more because they see him as his character, Edward? AK : Yes. Absolutely. I understand that. Reading the books, Edward [Cullen] is like nothing you’ve ever read, and I understand why girls go crazy. But I don’t understand why there’s no disconnect when they see a real human being and start convulsing.

Anna Kendrick is Not Fangirling Over Robert Pattinson OR George Clooney

Oh Anna you are so cool (*sarcasm*)


"Twilight: New Moon" actress Anna Kendrick stars in films with two of Hollywood's hottest hunks -- Robert Pattinson and George Clooney -- this year. Dream jobs, right?
She starred with Robert in "New Moon" and "Eclipse" and George in the awards-buzzed Jason Reitman dramady film, "Up in the Air."

Her friends are totally impressed but she's like, "Eh, they're OK ... They're such punks, they're like such a pair of hooligans."

Still, she really enjoyed teasing George Clooney about being "old" since he teased her on a daily basis about being short.

Anna admits that she was blown away when she saw the "New Moon" box office numbers Friday night on a friend's cell phone at a party at screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg's home.

She also chatted with Taylor Lautner, who was still in New York, giving him a verbal "High Five/Hey Dude."
