E! News can exclusively reveal that the Twilight star has signed a mega-deal with Christian Dior.
Pattinson will star in a series of ad campaigns for the French fashion house's line of men's fragrances.
"Rob likes the brand," reports a source, who estimates the deal at being worth close to $12 million for three years. (Kate: Three years! YES)
Other celebs who have endorsed Dior fragrances include Jude Law, Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman, who appeared in a controversial topless ad last year.
R.Pattz is no stranger to Dior. He's hit the red carpet in several different Dior Homme looks, including a tuxedo at this year's Cannes Film Festival and jeans at the Teen Choice Awards.

We will soon stop seeing his face on all of the Twilight advertising and now we will get to see him in advertising for a very sophisticated house. He will appear to the world as a very classy grown up man. And we will get to see advertising with him in it over the next year which will otherwise be pretty quiet. Hope everyone in the NYC/NJ areas are ok. We lucked out in VT. Considering all of the damage in NY, I wonder if the BD2 promos there will be effected?

I just watched the 5 minute Dior with Jude HO LEE SHIT If that's what they're going to do I fear for all of us. This just keeps getting better/worse ...same thing when it comes to Rob. GAH!

I agree,whence. I love what Dior does for their ads. An example would be what they did with Charlize Theron on the J'Adore one. They used her presence, elegance and stunning qualities and incorporated it well on the ad. They even play up with Charlize's modelling background and I just watch the whole thing in awe. :D So, I'm with you on hoping for that. The other ideas that the ladies here are thinking also make me insane. Displaying his musical qualities, having him driving an Aston Martin, or doing it ala Jude Law - I think I'm hyperventilating again. LOL But really, he could just stare in the camera and smolder, I'll be fine with it. ;D

NYC is flooded, but I think by the time of the premieres (if there are any here; no idea) it will be dried out. I don't know if NY promos are scheduled. (When will we know? Will we know? ANyone?) As of now, transit is still halted; some subways flooded; many streets flooded, etc. Power is out in many places. Glad VT lucked out.

Though I know it's moot 'cause I'll surely faint either way when the time comes. :)) Just to share,my mom actually asked me what's up with me watching these signature fragrances ads since yesterday and my standard answer: 'Rob'. She understands. LOL I'm so excited to be surprised by Rob and Dior! :D
Thanks Solas, Glad you are okay although It sounds like it must be really difficult to get to where you might want to go. Rob is scheduled to be on Fallon and Live with kelly and Micheal on 11/8 and I think The Today Show on the 7th and Kristen on Live with Kelly and Micheal on the 7th. I quess we will just have to wait and see.

I don't know about that. I don't follow personal lives of famous people, especially gossip, for the most part, and even regret 'knowing' about (I don't really know)/reading about whatever went on with Kristen over the summer. It really pains me.
Rob has been compared with Jude too so in good company ;-)
I'm so looking forward to seeing Rob take this on. He's always looked stunning in Dior and has talked about wearing Dior fragrances before. I love that he is moving forward in a very adult and sophisticated way. He is keeping his name and image present and relevant (which is crucial to his profession) but doing so in a way that definitely has a clear message behind it.
I'm honestly rather disappointed in the so-called fans who are saying he's selling out or that this is out of character for him. Rob is young and, like all of us, as he experiences new things and gains new perspectives, he will continue to grow and evolve. That's honestly been one of the best things about this ride thus far. I think back to Rob as a shy goofy 21-year-old manchild doing his first interviews and saying things that just made you laugh out loud and facepalm at the same time. The joy that he's managed to keep that same shy goofiness while maturing into man with direction and some ownership of his own life... well, it definitely makes this whole roller coaster that much more amazing.
Now, if only we could get Gucci officially on board... that might just be my idea of a perfect world!
Neither do I :-) I had misunderstood ABV's comment to mean that the product lines were under the same umbrella, like a big company, and I thought it interesting and was wondering if Rob was asked because it appears he is with Kristen and someone in marketing might have thought it cute to have the happy couple on the payroll together. But I get from your comment that they are separate brands, so no plot, unless someone's competitive streak has come into play. ;-)

The first family is Arnault family owner of LVMH (Dior, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Moet Hennecy, Kenzo, etc...) And the third is Pinault, owner of PPR (Gucci, Balenciaga, Yves St Laurent, Christies, etc...)... I would say he is HOT in every way, but his star is definitely rising now. He is handling his career brilliantly, and people/companies/whoever will want to attach their names to him.
I already commented but I have some more to say. The photos and commercials are done by really great directors. I'm curious who is filming them. I know Marion had a really popular French director. I feel like Rob is doing a great job with his career. He's showing that you can be a big player in Hollywood and still be yourself. I feel proud that someone like Robert has this big opportunity. I understand if he was posing for a nude magazine but he's not. Selling out to me is if in his ordinary days he's walking around in a Dior suit lol. He's not. If anything people have a hard time trying to ID his clothes. I bet Rob is the first one to make fun of himself. It's very cool that he's the new sexy. Well that would depend on how 'fit' Rob is looking at the time :-) If he's all pec and ab man we'll go for:
Standing in front of a dressing room full length mirror he slips his arms into his pristine, sharp white shirt and, leaving it open just for a second or two, does up his cuffs (I would cufflinks but that would depend on how long the ad is) and then slowly does up the front buttons, leaving the top two undone with just a hint of chest hair showing in the gap. He sprays the Dior, picks up his tie and casually places it around his neck, leaving it loose, hanging down his shirt front. He walks from the room saying to the woman sitting finishing her hair something like we only have 5 minutes. He walks from the room (It has to be an apartment we don't want him wandering downstairs) walks over to a drinks cabinet and picks up his drink while saying something else over his shoulder (I don't mind what but we need his voice lol) He stands still while he takes a sip of his drink. He walks with his drink over to the piano where he sits,slightly angled to the side, facing the camera, just gently picking through segments of well-known songs.
Enough scene-setting???? LOL

Rob was offered because he is somebody today . such a positive sign . people on GC are having a laugh that Rob's own fans cant be happy for his success . thats really strange and true to some extent . people are far too judgemental of Rob and Put him on some pedestal .He is growing in his profession and that entails endorsements and also helping with charities etc . we of all the people should be happy for him !! I must say I know what I like and the perfume ad that made me sit up and take notice was Charlize Theron's Dior's ad with Marvin Gaye playing in the back ground... if it's as hot like that perfume ad.... I might just go out and buy bucket loads. LOL.

I sense ambivalence and do understand it. Although the choice makes biz sense, if confirmed, I don't want it to be the...um...slippery slope onto a more conventional path. There are plenty of actors walking that road, but it's the one taking the slightly less generic route I find more intriguing. Rob has always struck me as an interesting combo, but maybe that's what's at play here. Of course, he did say he couldn't see any reason to endorse products, unless for the money, so I'm assuming we should be hearing about the shingle any day now...lol Maybe there'll be a hint or two about his reasons if Dior is a topic during the junket... If he can learn to work the game to his own advantage, and continue to be himself, all power to him. Mr.Depp has, for the most part, managed to do the same, and he's another conundrum... ;-)

Fraid it's gonna take more than that as were dealing with First Ammendment issuses here and as I've said before, we know how to add to the Constitution, but we don't know how to take away. We don't know how to go back in and re-write a basic right layed down by the Founding Fathers. This is why we can't get a handle on guns in this country...the Second Ammendment. We don't know how to adjust the wording for the modern times we live in.
If they'd just enforce the ordinences (or whatever they're called) that are already in place...no following in cars and no going to places of residence and to schools (I think), then this situation would be more tolerable. But for some reason, they're not enforcing them. My fear is that it's going to take another Diana Spencer tragedy before they get serious about it. At this point, it's just taking pictures of stars so what's the big deal? Most cynically believe these people want to be on display 24/7 or else they wouldn't have tried to become stars in the first place. Also...with facebooking, you tubing and whatnot, people have compromised their own privacy so why should they have any empathy for others who want to protect theirs?
It's a big 'ol kettle of fish. Actually, it's a big 'ol Pandora's Box that we've ripped the lid off of and we have no idea where it's going to take us. Scary.

I mean: the growing popularity of the reality stars who live by the help of the papps and who would sell their mothers' soul to get in the tabloids. These "stars" have ruined it for the real stars. One of the reasons, I think why it's difficult to change laws: not everybody "suffers" from the papps, a lot wellcomes them.

So in film, it is not just the actor but also the role. Closer to real life: Leonard Cohen as he looked in his 20s-40s, with the evolved heart and soul he has now. Reading his poetry, hearing him read it and eloquently yet sometimes humourously speak, melts me and makes me wish for a man like that but of my age range and my tribe. IN real life (theoretically, since I haven't seen it in ages but have given up looking for now): intense intelligence behind a gentle face, often disguised with eyeglasses; wonderful with babies and biblical texts, and loving to do good deeds in secret, without any fanfare or praise; committed to the ways of my people but with joy and with love including of all created in G-d's image; an eagerness and hunger and even childlike wonder to learn and understand. Scenes that most people think are 'hot' do nothing for me; seeing a man treat a homeless person like a human being, with dignity; seeing a man do carpentry, especially dove-tail joints; imagining a man physically and sensually tender and strong but in privacy; these are what turn me on and make melt and go wow.

Absolutely. People with no talent like the Kardashians or Paris Hilton or Heidi & Spencer (from those MTV shows) really changed the game for everyone in Hollywood I think. I'm not even sure if they exist if a camera isn't on them. Stars have always called pappz to get some publicity, but the reality "stars" brought it to a whole different level, & I don't think it will ever go back to the way it used to be.

I have a problem with the hypocrisy of people. When Kristen was named the face of Balenciaga she was called a famewhore but now since Rob's doing it he's respected, successful, etc.
It's partly Twitter's fault too I think. Too many people think they have something important to say, & just share too much of their lives. How many famous women have posted pictures of themselves in bikinis? Why? I don't understand why they are so desperate for fame that they shove pictures of themselves almost naked in front of everyone.

Well, I did ask lol You said such a lot there, I have seen the films you mentioned but quite a long time ago. Yes I can understand what you mean by not only the actor but also the role. I of course have heard of Leonard Cohen but do not know much about him, I looked him up on youtube, listened to him in a discussion and another one where he was singing and can certainly see how he would be attractive. I always find it amazing that we hear someone mention something and we go away and look it up and we learn from it or find a new interest in someone.
My choice in men has not been good and I dont think I have ever thought about what I would really like to find in a man. I have given up as well now hoping to find someone or maybe one who would have me lol

I have had really bad situations with men, as well. I am pretty astute when it comes to others but not for myself. I am easily fooled--or at least I was; I have learned to recognize signs of abusive behaviour much better now and ended a relationship a short time before we were to be married (would have been my third). If you followed my postings the past few days, you know how aggravated I am with the director of Mission Black List wanting to film to Iraq but although I think his behaviour is foolish and even stupid, i won't call him stupid; I know far too well that smart people can make abysmally stupid mistakes. That's a label I ought to wear: For a pretty smart person I can make really stupid mistakes.
