From Entertainment Weekly:

Australia was founded as a repository for crooks and criminals — a wretched hive of scum and villainy, like the British Empire’s own Mos Eisley. Of course, that was a long time ago and the Australian national demeanor has since shifted from “kill or be killed” to “live and let live,” but David Michôd’s gritty 2010 drama Animal Kingdom chronicled some of the country’s more modern criminal descendents. In his upcoming sophomore effort, The Rover, the director takes things even further.
Robert Pattinson plays a denizen of the Outback in the near future, after a worldwide financial collapse has sent many like him running to the still viable mines of the Australian desert. “It’s like a new gold rush,” says Michôd. “Where people from all corners of the world have come out to the desert to scrape out an existence. Petty criminals and miscreants and hustlers.” Guy Pearce, who had an uncharacteristically reserved role in Animal Kingdom, gets to sink his teeth into a nicely nasty part opposite Pattinson. “The basic story is really quite elemental,” says Michôd. “You’ve got a really dark, dangerous, murderous person in Guy’s character, and in Rob’s character you have a quite troubled and damaged, but beautiful and naïve, soul.”
Of course, just by its setting and basic plot, The Rover is poised to draw comparisons to one of the antipodean country’s most memorable cinematic contributions. “You put cars in the desert in Australia and people are going to think of Mad Max,” says Michôd. “And with all due respect to that film — and I stress that — I think The Rover is going to be way more chillingly authentic and menacing.”

Entertainment Weekly and VH1 report on Robert Pattinson giving Robsessed "mad props"

Entertainment Weekly and VH1 report on Robert Pattinson giving Robsessed "mad props"

Last year, Josh Horowitz won the Robsessed Award for Best Non-fandom Supporter and we think he wants that award for 2012. Why? Because he asked Rob if he visits Robsessed and awesomeness ensued.

The king himself, Robert Pattinson, said he visits the site (in a "duh" kind of voice)...
Photobucket

...claimed he knows us (GAH. He's crazy. I think he thinks every fan he meets is Robsessed...and aren't they? *wink*)...
Photobucket

...told the world "they are on it" (we're on so much around here it's not even funny) and put on the pressure to make sure his schedule is always correct.
Photobucket

We've been on such a high by this and we can't thank Josh enough for giving the blog, and by proxy, all fans who call themselves Robsessed, a mention. The epic moment earned itself a permanent place in the side bar and our hearts.

A couple of media outlets also noticed the shout out and it just makes the whole experience better and better.

Entertainment Weekly said:
In one of the funniest clips from the interview, the trio are quizzed on their knowledge of Twilight fan terminology. You’ll never be happier to learn you have no idea what HBG stands for. Check out the answer – along with Pattinson admitting he regularly hits up Robsessedpattinson.com
And VH1 gave us the perfect title for this post:
The fact that Kristen knows that in Twi-hard lingo, “HBD” stands for her Hot Bodyguard, but no one knew that “OME” means “Oh, my Edward.” And Rob gave mad props to Robsessed.
*sings* I want to stop and thank you baby...I want to stop and thank you baby...How sweet it is to be loved by Rob. ;)

Entertainment Weekly is posting Summer Movie Awards and Rob won Sexiest Non-Sex Scene for the Cosmopolis prostate exam.

Raw power unleashed INDEED. This part..."That whole sad business of Judeo- Christian jogging. You were not born to run. I look at you. I know what you are. You are sloppy-bodied, smelly and wet. A woman who was born to sit strapped in a chair while a man tells her how much she excites him."

Lawwwd help me when he says that line, I die. So commanding. DomRob lives, y'all.

But frankly, I think he needs to also be given Sexiest Sex Scene for the same movie.

Easter egg....

EW teases comments from Bill Condon regarding Rob and Kristen and um...you know. Also, comments from Rob and Kristen most likely from Comic Con. Excerpt of the teaser:
“The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that,” Bill Condon tells EW. “Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them.”
...
In more innocent times (read: a month ago), the Twilight stars sat down for a roundtable interview and talked about the film, the ending of the series, and what they’ve learned from the Twilight experience. Pattinson marvels at Edward’s unflappable ability to stay rational. “It’s strange,” he says with a laugh. “All through the series it’s like, ‘Hey , this guy is trying to be sensible! Let’s think this thing out.’ And everyone is like ‘F— you’”. Stewart presses him, curious to know what he learned from playing the role. ”Don’t be pragmatic. Be an emotional idiot.” Of course Breaking Dawn—Part 2 is just one of the season’s anticipated films.
The issue will be on stands this week. I adore Edward and Rob is channeling him perfectly here, non?

Forget Zod. What villain would Robert Pattinson really be disguised as at Comic Con?

Forget Zod. What villain would Robert Pattinson really be disguised as at Comic Con?

Photobucket

Rob excerpt from Entertainment Weekly:
Now that it’s the last Twilight appearance at Comic-Con, Robert Pattinson told EW he realized he would like to come back someday and experience it as an attendee (in costume, of course). “I’d love it,” he says. “Maybe a Darth Vader mask or something.”

The question first came up at the Breaking Dawn –Part 2 panel when an audience member asked Pattinson and Stewart what villain they’d choose to dress up as if they came to Comic-Con for fun. Stewart, with a sly smile, said the Evil Queen — a nod to her co-star in Snow White and the Huntsman. Pattinson named Zod.

“I can’t believe I said Zod,” Pattinson said a couple of hours later, relaxing in a much-quieter-than-Hall-H hotel room. “He’s the bad guy from Superman II. I actually have no idea why I said him. I just remember, ‘Kneel before Zod‘. Now that’s been stuck in my head all day.” The actor estimates that he probably last saw Superman II when he was 9-years-old.

Robsessed odds and ends: Tracking Robert Pattinson mentions around the 'nets

Robsessed odds and ends: Tracking Robert Pattinson mentions around the 'nets

Some more Rob bits for you guys! First up is Comic Con news. Sure am going to miss moments like this...

Rob: Making love on the beach
Photobucket

HitFix named the 20 Biggest Stars expected at Comic-Con 2012 and Rob was included in the list:
Robert Pattinson
Name: Robert Pattinson
Comic-Con Virgin: Nope, there are rumors RPattz actually lives at Comic-Con
Promoting: "Breaking Dawn: Part 2"
When: The "Twilight" panel Thursday at 12:45 p.m. in Hall H
Lowdown: Come say goodbye to Edward! Pattinson's annual
awkwardly adorable (or adorably awkward) act gets one last chance to
shine at the Con. Unless he winds up in another big franchise before
next year.
The word is adorkable, HitFix. ;) Rob is one of the biggest stars out there and Metric had some nice things to say about him. The Washington Post posted a video of Metric's Emily Haines talking about her work on Eclipse and Cosmopolis. She mentioned Rob as well saying she met him and said he's a really good guy. They got to hang out at his house too! Lucky musician.

Sticking with a semi-Twilight theme, Breaking Dawn choreographer, Pat Cerasaro, gave an in-depth interview with Broadway World about his profession and his work on projects. Here is when he  mentioned Rob:

PC: Was the dancing in TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN all Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, specifically in the wedding scene? That 360 camera shot is so sweeping and beautifully rendered.

PB: Oh, yeah. That was all them one hundred percent. We had rehearsal with them for that scene specifically. Also, there was a Steadicam pass that we did that was actually with Jackson Rathbone and Ashley Greene dancing and they were actually doing swing dancing and flipping around and all of that stuff, believe it or not! [Laughs.] They all had fun - we all had a lot of fun on that scene. I loved working on TWILIGHT.
I honestly would have liked to see the Edward and Bella first dance. I feel like it was a missed moment. Maybe it will be included in that inevitable box set for the films. It will help make up for that loooooong and nauseating dance scene Bella has with a certain other character.
Photobucket

Final news for this round of "odds and ends" comes from Entertainment Weekly. They listed 19 real-life couples and Rob and Kristen were on the list among Brad & Angelina, Paul & Joanne, Spencer & Katharine and more. What was the question? Sizzle or Fizzle? Real-Life Couples On Screen

Photobucket

Well that gif is certainly a sizzle, non? From EW:
Are they dating? No way they're actually dating. Well, maybe they're dating. Yeah, they're probably dating. Let's just say they're dating, okay? (Stewart, in referencing her ''British'' boyfriend — Pattinson is from England — has basically done as much.) Questions about their relationship aside, these two are the undisputed box office champs.
Box Office: The first four Twilight movies grossed $2.5 billion worldwide, an average of $626 million per movie. Later this year, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2 will almost certainly push the couple over the $3 billion mark.
Relationship Longevity: Four years, a boatload of smoldering looks, one vamp-human hybrid child, and counting!
Catch you guys next time with the odds and ends!
