Celebrating 5 Years of ROBsession!

Celebrating 5 Years of ROBsession!

 photo WMRobsessed5thAnniversarywallpaperwithtext-WM.jpg

5 years….

For me, Gözde, it all started at a Barnes and Noble and a book with an apple on it. The book consumed me…

Who knew that the book was just the beginning and the guy who would end up playing the cool, undead hero would consume my world for years and years to come.

I started this blog about Robert Pattinson and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. I met Kate, Kat and Tink through this blog, the best people and partners in the world. The best friends anyone would be lucky to call friends.

Following Rob’s career, his highs and lows, following the gossip, the truths and the lies is what we do and we love every minute of it. We are half crazy but thank God y’all seem to like crazy people :)

Hope we are still here in another 5 years.
Hope we’ve already celebrated Rob’s 1st Oscar!
Hope the best fans in the world (yes, you) are still following him and us.
Hope we have not finally lost our minds completely after a particularly HOT photoshoot.

We hope...we hope...we hope :)

We love y'all! Thanks for following, thanks for reading and thanks for the love.

Oh and Rob, thanks for being you...

P.S.: In case you are wondering: It all started with watching the Twilight trailer at a friend's craft blog for Kate (Oct 2008), with a friend begging her to read the books for months before finally giving in and reading all in a few days (and seeing the trailer in the midst of that) for Kat (Aug 2008), with reading the whole Twilight series in a few days after resisting for months and then googling "that guy who played Edward" for Tink (April 2009).

Thank you, sweet Bru, for making this celebratory video for our 5th birthday! This video, along with your kind words on your YouTube page, filled our hearts, made us smile and brought tears to our eyes.
It's PERFECT. xx

Robert Pattinson In Faces Magazine (Switzerland) Scans & New Quotes

UPDATE: Added full translation (after the cut)
Robert Pattinson In Faces Magazine (Switzerland) Scans & New Quotes

Thanks to our lovely reader Andrea for scanning this and sending this into us. She tells us that we've heard similar questions/answers in other interviews but she has translated the new quotes for us.
Check them out below the scans.

 photo Faces1.jpg photo Faces2.jpg

New Quotes:

About shooting the scene on the beach:
"The whole bumper fell off; it was wild (laughing)!"

About linking memories with certain smells:
"I remember my dad wearing Brut de Fabergé. He still has it, and it reminds me of my early school days."

About linking cities or countries with certain smells:
"My dad is from Yorkshire. There are moors/swamps and heather everywhere - the smell is incredible. We used to spend Christmas there, and although I haven't been there for years, this smell stayed with me somehow."

About his favorite smell:
"I like the smell of people (laughing)." (Then he talks about discovering perfume when he was 12 years old.)

About his perfect day:
"I can't tell exactly, I like to occupy myself with things. At the moment, I'm working on a story with a friend. I like to talk to people and work on projects with them. And I like to argue with people every now and then (laughing)."

He talks about Death Grips being his favorite band right now.

He talks about his clothing style (we heard about that before in other interviews; nothing new there).

Last question: Twilight made you famous, Cosmopolis changed your Image and Romain Gavras' campagne film for Dior gives your charakter something unexpected. How sweet ist the smell of success?
"Being an actor is weird and the definition of success (...) changes over the years. Of course there is a sweet side to success: I don't have to worry or to work only for money, at least for the next few years. I have a huge respect of all these movies, that's why I try to take the time and energy to make these exciting decisions not everyone makes. (...) But I don't feel I've already been that successful. There's something about Dior that suits me: The brand is staying persistently independent and that's what I want for myself right now."

Thanks so much Andrea!

The Robert Pattinson Book Club: Rob's Reading List Finds A Home On The Blog

The Robert Pattinson Book Club: Rob's Reading List Finds A Home On The Blog

UPDATE: 2/28/13 - added 3 titles up top and another author. Some fantasy reading that Rob did when he was younger. Any of you have some young boys? Check out what Rob inadvertently recommends ;) These titles will also be added to our side bar widget for the book club.

Rob loves to read. We love Rob. Let's love what Rob reads.

(Before you ask...yes the video cuts off right there. That's the editing of Harpo Productions *bitchface*)

The Oprah Show is gone and I sometimes wish Rob took her place. I could see him screaming at the audience like Oprah used to do...

Photobucket

Ok, she didn't scream like that but this is The Robprah Show. I want to know what shampoo he uses (even if it were an old hotel brand) or what kind of boxers he likes (oh we know that already) or his favorite restaurants (he'd hate it if we knew this) or what books he reads...

Oh wait! Rob DOES tell us that sometimes! We like knowing some of Rob's favorite things and through the years, he's shared quite a bit regarding his reading list. Obviously he's read loads of things but I gathered a compilation of books he's mentioned in public over the past 3+ years.

Robert Pattinson

R-Pattz seems ready more than ever to become Robert Pattinson. An intimate conversation with the most famous, and future ex-vampire in the world.

This is it. This is the end. Our last interview for Twilight. With hindsight, how did this experience change you, as an actor and as a person?

It's hard to say... I try to see how this adventure will fit into the plans I had when I started at 17. At the time, I had a pretty good idea of who I wanted to be at 32. The path is perhaps not the one I imagined, but I have the feeling of moving in the same direction. It's funny how things happen sometimes. I never thought something like Twilight could happen to me. In any case, I am very exited by what comes next. The advantage of being part of such a cultural phenomenon is that it makes every choice more exciting, because you know that many people are interested and waiting to see what your next project is. If you make a great film that nobody sees, it doesn't matter. Well, it does, really... I'm just very a superficial guy who needs an audience!

We all seek recognition ... That's it. I want to be cool. (Laughs.) That said, something new happened to me with Cosmopolis. It's the first time that I feel deeply convinced that a film I played was a total successful. If someone were to speak badly of it, I know they're wrong, whereas usually, I'd be the type to say "I quite like this and I quite like that, but OK... whatever!"

The problem is that from now on you will suffer if your future projects do not all live up to this.
And it is far from being a given, believe me. Nowadays, I feel that the Hollywood industry has only one goal: to force you to make shit. The system transforms everything it touches into a dud. Fortunately, there is a small group of directors who resist this, but they are forced to grow on the fringe. It's a miracle they've manage to survive. I'm thinking of someone like Harmony Korine, in particular, whom I find particularly brilliant. He showed me his new film this summer, Spring Breakers, which I loved. I wouldn't want to jinx it, but I feel that it can really be a hit. I want to with directors like him, people who have spent their lives refusing to compromise, whatever the cost. If you look closely, they are often the ones who have longest careers. They are the safest investments in the market!

Celebrating 4 Years of ROBsession

Today we are celebrating our 4 years online! Happy birthday to all ROBsessors around the world!

Photobucket

4 years ago today Robert Pattinson was in Mexico and the craziness began. He found himself in the middle of thousands of screaming fans and we found ourselves in awe/love/lust with him.

We had about 20 visitors that first day, all of whom were a group of amazing ladies (RKs) who were shooed off from a blog that was deleting our comments. I started this blog so we could all chat in the comments without being moderated. I am proud to say our comments are still not moderated and that ROBsessors (usually) keep to the "proper crassness" rule :)

YOU, our readers, make this blog what it is. Thank you so much for coming back multiple times a day to check what Rob is upto now, to check what other ROBsessors are upto and to see what the crazy bloggers posted this time. Without you we would just be 4 lunatics laughing at our inner thoughts. Hope we bring a smile to your faces everyday. This blog is our happy place and hope it's yours as well.

We followed Rob through his Twilight days and in the coming months we'll follow him through the end of an era. We know better things are coming for him and we can't wait to experience them with you.

Thank you Rob for being you. If it wasn't for your charm, wit, grace and sexiness we could never work 24/7 on this blog. Thanks for promising to shower us with goodies and lots of RobPorn over the month. You are very special to us and to the community of ladies in the dark recesses ;)

Thanks to Dani and the RobKats for the encouragement and help to start the blog. Without your wit and craziness it would never work out. Thanks to my partners in crime Kate, Kat and Tink who dedicate so much time to our "little blog that could". They make sure that no picture or video is left behind :)

To celebrate our birthday @SlaveforRob made a brilliant video collage of Robert Pattinson's events and public appearances. Thanks Bru! It reminded us once again, why we love him...

Thank you all! We Love you from the bottom of our hearts,
Gozde, Kate, Kat and TINK
