EW teases comments from Bill Condon regarding Rob and Kristen and um...you know. Also, comments from Rob and Kristen most likely from Comic Con. Excerpt of the teaser:
“The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that,” Bill Condon tells EW. “Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them.”
...
In more innocent times (read: a month ago), the Twilight stars sat down for a roundtable interview and talked about the film, the ending of the series, and what they’ve learned from the Twilight experience. Pattinson marvels at Edward’s unflappable ability to stay rational. “It’s strange,” he says with a laugh. “All through the series it’s like, ‘Hey , this guy is trying to be sensible! Let’s think this thing out.’ And everyone is like ‘F— you’”. Stewart presses him, curious to know what he learned from playing the role. ”Don’t be pragmatic. Be an emotional idiot.” Of course Breaking Dawn—Part 2 is just one of the season’s anticipated films.
The issue will be on stands this week. I adore Edward and Rob is channeling him perfectly here, non?

Robert Pattinson is "the perfect choice" for Georges Duroy and he is finally in US theaters this weekend

Robert Pattinson is "the perfect choice" for Georges Duroy and he is finally in US theaters this weekend

UPDATE: Two great reviews came out for the Bel Ami release in the US!

The San Francisco Chronicle reviewed Bel Ami and they gave Rob great compliments!
From this day on, Pattinson cannot be written off as the pale, neurasthenic fellow who would really like to kiss Kristen Stewart in the "Twilight" movies, but he's afraid he'll rip her veins out.
In fact, if "Bel Ami" is any indication, Pattinson should be known as a very good actor.
...
What distinguishes Pattinson in the role is the sense he conveys of someone roiling and churning beneath a surface that is almost, but not quite, calm.
At various times in "Bel Ami," Pattinson registers unexpressed terror, shame, rage and scorn, so that it is impossible not to recognize and even start to feel his tension and to understand the life-and-death consequences behind his every interaction. Young Georges (Pattinson) has nothing and yet finds himself traveling in upper-class Parisian circles - with people who have everything, who know his every move in advance and who would be just as happy to see him land back in the gutter.
...
It's a pleasure to watch him onscreen and wait for the explosion.

Salon gave Bel Ami the "Pick of the Week" calling it an "enjoyably soapy 19th-century costume drama". An excerpt from their review:
It’s legitimate to dislike this film, of course; one of the things I appreciated about “Bel Ami,” perhaps perversely, is how forcefully it resists easy enjoyment. But I think “Bel Ami” has been criticized in some quarters for being exactly what it sets out to be, a trashy, high-culture morality tale with an unpleasant hero and a bleak view of human relations. Pattinson plays Georges throughout as an unsophisticated country boy whose desires and appetites are almost animalistic. He can be a friendly, loyal dog or a scheming, hungry wolf, but the world of high-society Paris rapidly educates him about which of those personas is more conducive to advancement.

The time has arrived, USA. Bel Ami is finally showing in theaters. Near you? Well that's a different story but we'll get there in a moment. I'm sure many of you have already seen the film if you live in certain countries and many of you have seen the film on VOD when it was released May 4th in the US. However, we need to give Rob support in the theaters. The release is limited so if the theaters are near you, make an outing of it and enjoy DuRob on the big screen. My viewings will take place Sunday and I can't wait to see him the way I should have always seen him. LARGE!

Click HERE to visit MovieTickets and search for a theater near you. The release is limited so you still might have a hard time finding the film locally. If it is local, GO SUPPORT ROB! Magnolia Pictures has theaters and dates on their site as well but not all theaters.

More Bel Ami goodies after the cut to celebrate the US release!

Kristen Stewart Talks About A Brooding Robert Pattinson In "Vanity Fair"

UPDATED With More Quotes from Vanity Fair
Kristen Stewart Talks About A Brooding Robert Pattinson & Rob talks about Kristen's passion for fashion In "Vanity Fair"

On getting scolded for off-screen antics with Robert Pattinson:

“Me and Rob got into a lot of trouble. We were getting notes from the studio. They wanted me to smile all the time. They wanted Rob to be not so brooding. We were like, ‘No! You need to brood your a– off.’”

Robert Pattinson on Stewart’s passion for fashion:

“I never saw that coming.”

“The perception of her is that she’s ‘awkward,’” Rob admits. “But it’s funny knowing her. It’s the absolute opposite of what people think. She’s insanely confident.”

On top of battling personal reluctance, Stewart also struggles with the public’s preconceived notions about her personality. “People have decided how they are going to perceive her,” Robert Pattinson tells V.F. of Stewart. “No matter how many times she smiles, they’ll put in the one picture where she’s not smiling.”

Blast From The Past: Robert Pattinson exclusive interview with Amazon from 2008

Blast From The Past: Robert Pattinson exclusive interview with Amazon from 2008

I'm 2 years old this month. 2 years in my ROBsession that is and I still stumble across Twilight interviews before my birth that I've never seen. The way I stumbled on this interview was through a few avenues. It started with RobPattzNews tweeting about this guy, Johnny Flynn, coming to Seattle to play some music. I wasn't sure why she tweeted about him because I'd never heard of him. While I was directed to his myspace page, no connection to Rob was made. Then the next day, JAG from RAoR told me Flynn would be in Canada soon. I thought how odd for this guy to be brought up twice. I asked her why this should mean something to me and she said Rob mentioned him as a friend ages ago saying Flynn's album, A Larum, was a must hear.

I pride myself on being obnoxiously knowledgeable of all things Rob so this bunched my panties. I did not recall this interview but JAG said "ages ago" which clued me in to it possibly being an interview before I was "born". While I did extensive research on Rob pre-May 2009, interviews and such will still slip through the cracks. This is one of those.

From Nov. 25, 2008 during Twilight promotion, it's a lovely interview. Rob is so pensive and gorgeous. The Johnny Flynn recc is the very last thing he mentions but you know you'll love the whole thing and it'll make you smile. :)

Water for Elephants costume designer sketches Robert Pattinson

InStyle shared the costume sketch of Robert Pattinson from Water for Elephants costume designer, Jacqueline West. I think she's pretty great at sketching him. She should do these wax figures! She's got his brood down.

Photobucket

From InStyle:
"The script followed the novel so closely that it was easy to picture what the characters looked like. They practically dressed themselves," says West, who created both dapper evening ensembles and well-worn work looks for Robert Pattinson's character Jacob. "Rob cleans up well... and he dirties up well too!"

Robmas continued after the break!

Is Robert Pattinson derailing Zac Efron's career?

Photobucket

With Zac Efron's latest film, the romance 'Charlie St. Cloud,' now an official box office disaster, everyone is asking what happened to the 'High School Musical' golden goose. The answer, two words: Robert Pattinson.

"Robert is the new King of all the screaming girls at this moment and they have forgotten Zac. You only need to look at this years MTV Movie Awards, when Zac entered the girls were excited but when Robert walked in the place went nuts," relationship expert Matt Titus tells me. "Twilight has changed everything and Robert Pattison gets it. He says nothing, and acts mysteriously. This is what teenage girls really want right now." (Kat: Teenage girls? Why do they always focus on the teenage girls?)

However, it seems that Zac has received that memo too. Switching from his more playful roles to ones that focus on his character rather than his pretty-boy looks have come at a huge box office cost.

"Hollywood only cares about making money," one producer tells me. "We honestly don't care if Zac is singing 'Hello Dolly' or playing a vampire, as long as he sells tickets. That fact that 'Charlie St. Cloud' dropped a whopping 60% in its second week following a very mediocre opening tells me Zac should speak less, smile more and take off as much clothing as possible. Or else he will end up like countless other pinup popcorn actors and actresses that decided that they all of a sudden wanted to be taken seriously when all their fans."

According to Box Office Mojo, 'Charlie' has raked in a mere $23 million since opening July 30. It's budget: $44 mil.

Joe Neumaier, film critic for the New York Daily News, thinks Patz isn't Zac's biggest problem, telling me, "I blame an overcrowded pin-up boy field. Yes, Rob Pattinson is in that jam-packed yearbook but so is Taylor Lautner, some 'Gossip Girl' boys, Shia LaBeouf, the 'Glee' guys and at least one Jonas brother. All these young dudes are now starting to cancel each other out. I think at this point, there's only so many dewy-eyed sulking guys girls can keep track of." (Kat: They'll never cancel you out Rob... never!)

PopEater's own Celebenomics columnist, Jo Piazza, agrees. "Efron is in an oversaturated market for adorably coiffed young gentlemen of a certain age with nothing to differentiate him. He isn't as edgy as Robert Pattinson, as heartthrobby as Chace Crawford or as cutesy as Bieber. (Kat: Did this lady just put Rob in the same category as Bieber? Really?) His claim to fame, 'High School Musical' was too quickly eclipsed by 'Glee.' There is no demand out there right now for a product that is specifically Efron."

So is Zac career really over at a tender 22-years of age? Please say this isn't true!!!

"I don't think Zac Efron has a career problem. I just think that he made a movie that didn't connect with an audience. This film didn't have mass appeal and was a departure from Efron's normal roles. His audience didn't follow. He needs to choose his next role wisely, but he absolutely still has a career," Tina Wells, Author of tween book series Mackenzie Blue & CEO, Buzz Marketing Group told me.

So, let's hope Zac is listening because it sounds like it's time to dust of those tap shoes, break out the Jazz hands and start warming up those vocal chords. Stop trying to be Robert Pattinson and start being yourself again.

"Zac needs to stick with his strengths," Paul Dergarabedian, President of Box-office Division of Hollywood.com says. "Singing, dancing and comedy." And leave the depressing stuff to Mr. Pattinson. (Kat: Because he broods really well... at least I like it!)
