Rob Leaving Venice CA Studio
E! News Article

Critics remain way underwhelmed by Robert Pattinson's channeling of artist Salvador Dalí in Little Ashes. Call it a lack of—tee hee—sparkle. A few were impressed—the London Daily Express calls Pattinson's take "a spirited performance." But most agree with MTV's Kurt Loder, who says, "As soon as Pattinson steps forth with Dalí's famous up-twirled mustaches pasted to his face, the picture collapses."
Well, meow to you, too.
That isn't necessarily bad news for Pattinson fans, however, especially if you're open to a long-term love affair...
Despite the mixed reviews, veteran casting directors are calling Pattinson's choice in films brilliant, especially if he wants a long career.
"Tween girls buy movie tickets but don't win you Oscars," says casting exec Lisa Hamil, who worked on The Notebook and Alpha Dog as well as the new film One-Eyed Monster. "Hollywood is very quick to typecast, and once that happens, an actor's career can flatline."
Here's where tweenie fans may feel a bit of panic.
"All of us would still attempt to cast him in tween roles, but I'd be shocked (and a little disappointed) if he took another one," Hamil reveals. "It's the same reason Daniel Radcliffe did Equus. These guys are in it for the long haul and have learned this elemental truth: You grow up with your audience."
In other words, once the Twilight franchise wraps, kids, don't look for Pattinson in another teen-candy role. Even vampires need to grow up sometime.

Little Ashes Screening...Brings out the Mustaches

To his credit, Pattinson went full out on the role, even adopting the artist’s iconic mustache, which has now become as talked about as the film itself. And that brings us to Out Magazine’s screening of “Little Ashes” here in New York City this week. As you’ll see…they did a little something special to pay tribute to Pattinson. USA Today "Robert Pattinson is Hotter Than Brad Pitt...."

By Lorena Blas, USA TODAY
Robert Pattinson is hotter than Brad Pitt this week.
After a steady rise, the 22-year-old Twilight star has hit No. 1 on USA TODAY's Celebrity Heat Index, which measures media exposure. Pattinson is only half of the centerpiece cover image on the current issue of OK! and made No. 1 only on PopSugar.com's list of top stories, but he makes enough appearances in other outlets (TV, online and print) to put him ahead of the pack for the first time.
THE LIST: See who else was hot this week
Pattinson was No. 3 on the index for April, and USA TODAY noted that his star was on the rise as photos from the set of the Twilight sequel, New Moon, began circulating.
And if paparazzi shots weren't enough, Entertainment Tonight aired official behind-the-scenes video from the set on TV and online.
Tabloids have remained fixated on Pattinson's relationships with co-stars and possible romantic interests.
Rounding out the top 10 this week: Brad Pitt, Pattinson's New Moon co-star Kristen Stewart, TLC reality stars Jon and Kate Gosselin, Kirstie Alley, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Elizabeth Edwards and Ryan and Trista Sutter (tie).

Rob wins 4TNZ Hottie Tournament

The Daily 10 (5-6-09)
Oh sweet God at one point they joke about how Rob mentioned having a "penile implant" for certain Little Ashes scenes...CRACKING ME UP!
Again why we love Rob so much.
Ashley Greene: Rob likes being pretty & Spoiler of NM Filming
Love, Gozde
From OK! Magazine:
OK!: How does Alice change in the sequel?
My character’s going to be a good 60 percent bigger in the second film. You get to see the development between Alice, Bella and Edward.
OK!: Does Robert have any problems with putting on that vampire makeup?
He likes being pretty [laughs]! No, I think any guy [actor] is kind of like, eh. But it’s part of the job.
OK!: How do you spend time off the set?
There’s a street in Vancouver called Robson, where we jam with people who play instruments. I’m going to take up guitar, because Jackson [Rathbone], Nikki [Reed], Kristen [Stewart] and Rob [Pattinson] all play guitar and sing.
OK!: Is the cast very close?
Yeah, you create this intense bond with these people. It’s really natural.
OK!: How is Robert handling being the world’s most desirable man?
Rob’s always like, “I don’t belong here, what’s going on?” He’s not the most sociable. He’s not one of those people who can go and talk to anyone. He’s kind of a hermit and a little awkward. He got thrust into this limelight, but he’s dealing with it. I think it’d be kind of difficult for anyone.
OK!: It’s been rumored that Rob had a crush on Kristen. Is that why he’s not dating?
I think he’s loving being single. He’s pretty much one of the most eligible bachelors out there right now. So if he was sad before [about Kristen], I think that he’s all right now.
OK!: Does Kristen stay in touch with her boyfriend, Michael Angarano?
I know that she cares about him a lot and they have a great relationship. On the last film, he would hang out often.

Oh and LAiMEy(puke!) has this bit of spoiler about the New Moon filming:
As I’ve already reported, yesterday’s scenes involved the Volturi and Carlisle in a flashback explaining what happens to vampires who break the rules. Then they reject Edward’s request.Edward is hurled in the air, tossed against a wall when he attempts to protect Bella. Am pretty sure in the book his torture consisted of him writhing on the floor in pain. Obviously, visually, the throwing is much more spectacular, requiring much less emphasis on, um, Robert Pattinson’s facial expressions. Every time he was hurting in the first movie, he looked like he wanted to poo. Oh hush Twi-hards. It was the direction! (Gozde: Oh how I hate thee...)
Also on sched: Aro is convinced to release Bella, Edward, and Alice because he sees the vision.
Thanks to Jen from The Twilight Times for the tip ;)
Robert Pattinson's New Project: Bel Ami?

According to the French newspaper Lyon Plus, Rob will be in Paris for 3 months at the end of the summer to shoot a new movie which is the adaptation of the novel Bel-Ami written by Maupassant. ( Thanks to Kpucine for the scan and the translation ;))
Gozde:
There have been several reports on this, one of them being from the mouth of Rob himself at the interview we posted (here) a couple of days ago. (Update: Yes, the timing sounds fishy since Rob says "next year" in his interview but this is a RUMOR anyways. We'll let you know when something is set ;))
Bel Ami is a novel written by French Author Guy de Maupassant in 1885. It The story chronicles Georges Duroy's corrupt rise to power from a poor ex-NCO to one of the most successful men in Paris, most of which he achieves by manipulating a series of powerful, intelligent, and wealthy mistresses.(Read more HERE)
Bel-Ami was made into films and mini series before. You can check Guy de Maupassant imdb page for more info.
Rob is going to be a busy bee for the next years to come and for that he deserves a lot of lap dances ;))
Little Ashes Reviews
Ever since I had to sit through the highly praised but horrific movies like Spartan, Team America: World Police (what the HELL was that?) and Lost in Translation (it really was lost in translation for me and I usually LOVE that kind of movies) I stopped reading movie reviews or taking them seriously. I like making up my own mind about a movie. BUT if you'd like to read some reviews about Little Ashes here is a list ;) Looks like most of the reviews are mixed.

Little Ashes Love

Hi guys,
I wanted to share this comment from Alayne because I think it represents the love and dedication people have for Rob and his work. It shows why Little Ashes Movement worked. Maybe it's the birthday blues, maybe it's waking up to a love fest by all of you but I was really touched and had tears when I read it. (Thanks for all the BDay wishes;))
I am not encouraging you to follow Alayne's advice nor am I discouraging. I am however encouraging all of you to go to the cinemas tomorrow, Saturday or Sunday to see Little Ashes, I wish I could ;)
Here is Alayne's message unedited ;)
GODZE (love your blog), I would love your opinion and the opinion of the wonderful ROBsessors on this thought I have. I live in Wilmington NC and Little Ashes is not playing this weekend anywhere even close to where I live but I want to support the movie, especially on this opening weekend. So I was thinking of purchasing tickets to a showing, via Fandango, at a theater that is showing it in another state. Obviously I won't be able to use the tickets but atleast my purchase of the tickets would go towards the opening weekend "stats". I am just concerned that my purchasing the tickets would keep someone else from seeing the movie (if it sells out). I thought of purchasing the tickets last minute to either a early matine or really late night showing.... what do you think. I really want to support this movie and Rob and am so frustrated that I can't do it locally.
Also, it is driving me crazy as I look at what is playing at any theater within 400 miles of my home this weekend to try and find Little Ashes and I keep seeing 17 Again and Hannah Montana ARGGGHHH... makes me want to rip my eyes out... hehe
Any opinions and thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Windy City Times Interview with Javier Beltran

JB: I don't know. [ laughs ] I'm just very happy to have worked with Robert—to have shared this project with him—and I'm very happy for him for his success.
WCT: Can you talk about filming the love scenes with him? Both of you have said they were painful physically to film—really?
JB: The scenes were very intense. It was very difficult to express since they were very intense emotions in these scenes with what was happening with the two individuals. But I was very comfortable doing the scenes because the crew and Robert were very supportive. I was happy how they came out in the movie.
