It was May 13, 2010, Rob’s 24th birthday. Any fan would have wanted to talk to congratulate him or give a gift, but we did the opposite: we got the gift from him, since we had the chance to chat and ask him details about "Eclipse". It was 1:53pm when my cell phone was linked to him in Beverly Hills, California. I greeted him with a "Hi, How are you?" . He answered "Okay ... What about you?" I could have said I was in shock, but I just answer that great ..." ready for this interview?”, I pronounce, and after a "yes" we start it.

I'm sure Rob was No1 in the romance classes! They'd have nothing to teach him.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's Eclipse characters, Bella and Edward, essentially have three or so movies of virginal eternal longing for each other; they never quite go all the way (except in Breaking Dawn, which Melissa Rosenberg swears she's penning as quite sexy...but more on that later). (Kate: Oh she better be or I will be after her blood like a newborn! )
When we talked to the stars of Eclipse at last night's premiere at the L.A. Film Festival, we threw it out there to the cast: Do you think the longing and self-control the main characters exhibit when it comes to sex is something high schoolers can actually relate to these days? Here's what Rob, Kristen, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz had to say...
"Oh my god, definitely," Stewart told us on the carpet with the stern-yet-sweet look she exhibits so well. "I feel like everything in our movie—the reason people love it so much—is because it's everything that we experience. It's like put on this...I don't want to say ideological...It's just put on this level that it is fantasy love. You feel like when you're in love it's fake almost. I feel like that's how everyone feels."
Spoken like a girl who has been truly smitten before! Speaking of, Rob, in his über-cool, maroon Gucci suit, added that he has no clue if holding out for something great is in touch with teens today, but it's what he is used to.
"I hope so," Pattinson dished about whether Edward's self-control is relatable to guys his age.
"I don't know, I didn't really go to a normal high school," R.Pattz ‘fessed. He added, "I went to a very romantic high school."
So that's where he learned his suave tricks!
To read what the rest of the cast had to say on the subject head over to EOnline
Robert Pattinson was on top of his game at the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse at the LA Film Festival Thursday night, and RadarOnline.com was on the “black carpet” to watch the fans and even his co-stars go wild for him as soon as they saw him.
“Rob’s a superstar,” Nikki Reed exclusively told RadarOnline.com as R-Pattz walked behind her on the carpet. The deafening screams by the fans that had waited for four days to see their favorite vampire had Nikki politely asking “Do you want to wait? Can you hear me?” when we started the interview.
Looking gorgeous in a Marchesa dress that she told us was “so comfortable,” Nikki said it was better to talk with Rob off the carpet at a premiere. “It’s more fun to see him when he’s not on the red carpet because you can actually hear!”
Bryce Dallas Howard, who replaced Rachelle Lefevre as the evil vampire Victoria, was not above acting like a fan around Rob. “Look what he’s wearing! He’s perfect,” she gushed over her co-star in Eclipse. She even joked that she was “Verklempt over the possibility of talking to Rob!”
There were two new additions to the cast that RadarOnline.com spoke with at the premiere. Kirsten Prout and Jodelle Ferland, who plays the newborn vampire Bree and who said she really enjoyed filming scenes with Rob Pattinson. "He's definitely not Edward Cullen," she dished. "Edward is so serious, he's a really cool guy!"
Bryce Dallas Howard Talks Robert Pattinson Post Its & "Eclipse" On Leno
Earlier in the month Bryce spoke about her Robert Pattinson Post it notes to Vanity Fair now she tells Leno about them. Oh and she also tells him about her little crush on a certain vampire. I wonder who that could be now?
We already knew that it was that scene that sent the cast back to do last minute reshoots, and that Robert Pattinson liked the original version better, but director David Slade set the record straight that the two versions weren't very different after all.
"It was all the same dialogue. It was more of a pickup shoot, really," he said. "We actually inter-cut between the first shoot of that scene and the later one, and really it was just one of those things where in the schedule, we needed two days to shoot it, and we had one. So, I was really relieved to go back and just pick some stuff up. I think the only difference really was Taylor actually holds [Kristen] to his chest more, and Rob's better than he was [laughs]." (Kate: How could he beat perfection?)
Rob had said that he hoped the original cut of the tent scene would make it to the DVD as an extra, but David said that probably wouldn't happen. (Kate: David don't make me come after you!!)
"The initial cut is in the film up to a certain point, then we cut back and forth between them, and Rob wouldn't know because we color-timed them all to look exactly like the same scene," he said.
So what do Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewartand Taylor Lautnerhave to say about that? We caught up with the Twi-trio at last night's Eclipse premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival to find out…
R.Pattz says he has a simple idea to get the "Can't Be Tamed" singer to come over to the fang side. He laughed, "It's so obvious—just watch Eclipse."
Musclehead Lautner doesn't care if Cyrus is hating on vamps. "She doesn't need to like vampires," he said. "As long as she likes werewolves, we're cool."
Stewart was a bit surprised to hear Cyrus dislikes our favorite creatures of the night . "She does?" Stewart asked wide-eyed when we broke the sad news to her. "Is she scared of them or does she just not like them?"
Whatever the reason, Stewart said, "I don't think you should convince people of something if they already have their way of thinking about. Whatever—if she hates vampires, that's cool."
Gozde: Dear Miley, hate is too strong a word to use for stuff that "does NOT exist", you know, like vampires! At the risk of sounding like a grandma I'm gonna say: Kids these days... :)
UPDATE: How on earth did I miss this video? LMAO, thanks "cheeky chops"
Robert Pattinson At The "Eclipse" Premiere - Living TV
Robert Pattinson feels guilty Twilight fans camped out for days to see him at the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The 24-year-old actor - who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the movie series - didn't know how to react when he heard people had been sleeping outside as early as last Saturday (19.06.10) to catch a glimpse of him last night (24.06.10).
Speaking at the premiere, which was held at the Nokia Theatre, Robert said: 'They've been camping out. Some of them have been camping out since Saturday, apparently.
'I spiral into this oblivion of guilt whenever they say that because I don't know what to do. All I can do is sign.'
The British star admitted he wouldn't be out late to enjoy the fun of the premiere as he had to work today (25.06.10).
He revealed: 'I have to work tomorrow (Friday). I have got a 5am start on a film - Water For Elephants.'
Discussing the impending end of the movie franchise - only the two-part Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is left in the series - Robert said: 'I like all the people that I work with and I guess I'm going to miss all the crowds as well.'
"Twilight" superstar Robert Pattinson has been conducting so many "Eclipse"-centric interviews lately, it's a wonder he actually remembers anything he says — let alone the countless articles that hang on his every word.
However, when MTV News caught up with him on the "Eclipse" premiere's black carpet Thursday night (June 24) to ask him about an article in which he'd been quoted as saying he's tired of all the "Twilight" work, Pattinson seemed to remember very clearly he had said nothing of the sort and quickly set the record straight.
"That's bullsh--!" Pattinson joked. "I hate reporters misquoting me, it's so annoying."
Of course, realizing he'd just used a naughty word during MTV's live feed from the premiere, he was quick to apologize for the blunder and cover his mouth.
Nonetheless, regarding his reportedly being "tired" of playing the world's most popular vampire, Pattinson denied it wholeheartedly: "Anyone who says they're tired of this is really crazy." Thinking about his life without "Twilight" reminds him of what he was doing before, "which was sitting around doing nothing." (Aside from his role in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," of course.)
"I love doing the movies," Pattinson insisted. "I like all the people. I've had a great time on all of them. The cast is great."
When asked to put into words what he'll feel when the series comes to an end in a couple of years, the teen heartthrob said simply, "It's just weird. They've become so much a part of my life, it's like divorcing someone. I guess Ill see. Maybe it will be great!"
