NEW: FKA twigs calls Robert Pattinson "the man that I love" and "100% worth it" in interview with The Guardian

This is so freakin' sweet and he deserves all of it. Well...she's actually talking about serious things and once I clear the hearts from my eyes that Rob has a sweet girlfriend who knows he's SO worth it, then I can get serious. But the hearts are still there, guys. The hearts are still there.

Excerpt from The Guardian:
“Oh, I’m nothing. I’m nothing right now.” Twigs offers a neat delineation on the different sorts of repute a “weird” artist can attain. “I think it’s easy to sit in this trendy cafe, in a trendy little area of New York, and say ‘Ooh, I’m FKA Twigs’. But outside of these four blocks, does anybody really give a shit? Probably not. I’m well aware if I walk down one street in New York, I’ll hear people say: ‘Oh my gad!’ And if I walk down another street: nothing. And those streets are blocks apart from each other.

“I’m appealing to people who want something different,” she says, “but the world, on the whole, doesn’t really embrace different things. Not on the whole.”

This might be a subject on her mind because she’s been wrestling, of late, with a fairly major collision between the worlds of the niche and the mainstream. When her relationship with Robert Pattinson became public, a couple of months ago, it narcotised her public profile – a profile that had until then been pretty subtle and quiet and under Twigs’s direct control. Pattinson retains a lot of manic fans from his days as a young-adult idol in the Twilight film franchise. Twigs is mixed-race, her mother part Spanish and her father Jamaican, and when the relationship with Pattinson came to light she received a lot of crude online abuse from his fans. “I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my [Twitter] account the past week,” she tweeted in September. Advertisement

Twigs tells me: “Obviously I know if you’re putting yourself out there, saying, ‘Hey! Listen to my music!’, with pictures of yourself in the magazines, then people are going to judge you. ‘I hate her music. I hate her hair. I hate her production. I hate her videos.’ Fine: don’t care. That’s the great thing about art, it’s not for everyone. But when it comes to racism, really? In this day and age? Pick that?”

Pattinson has joined her in these early stages of her US tour, a sweet gesture that has unfortunately launched a grim game of cat and mouse around the city, the pair trailed everywhere by a school of paparazzi. There were especially awkward photographs taken the night before our lunch, Twigs pictured getting out of a cab with one hand in Pattinson’s and the other trying to shield her face from flashbulbs. I tell her how uncomfortable the images were to look at, her distress plain. She doesn’t want to go in to specifics of her romantic life (who would, after two months of gossip-page commentary?) but she says something rather lovely about the compromises required of this new relationship. I think it’s worth quoting in full.

“That side of my life [the paparazzi] is nothing to do with me. That’s, like… That is the… side of life of the man that I love. And… when that started happening I had to… Because that is the opposite of who I am as a person, and it was weird… Then I had to sit back and have a conversation with myself and I had to say: that is something really horrible. No, not horrible, I don’t find it horrible, it’s something that’s very challenging. I look uncomfortable because I am uncomfortable. But then it’s, like, is this person in my life worth that? And he is, without question. Do you know what I mean? In comparison to how happy I am. And how I feel with him. It’s 100% worth it. Does that make sense?”

It does.

“Good,” she says. We eat our trendy food.

From a balcony at the back (a few seats down from the famous boyfriend) I struggle to recognise the lunch buddy who quoted The Lego Movie at me and got sad over a memory of commemorative coins. I’m watching Twigs in performance mode, obscure and remote. During the final sequence of songs there’s a sudden, sustained ovation, after which she breaks character for a second to say a flushed thank you. Afterwards, outside the venue, one fan turns to another and says: “I had no idea until then she was even English.”

VIDEO: Brady Corbet & Mona Fastvold Talk About 'The Childhood Of A Leader' With IonCinema & Eye For Film

VIDEO: Brady Corbet & Mona Fastvold Talk About 'The Childhood Of A Leader' With IonCinema & Eye For Film

While promoting their film, The Sleepwalker, Brady Corbet and Mona Fastvold talked about The Childhood of a Leader with IonCinema and Eye For Film.

Check out this video interview from IonCinema. The Childhood of A Leader talks starts around the 9:40 mark.

And here's an excerpt from their interview with Eye For Film:
Mona Fastvold and Corbet’s upcoming project, The Childhood of a Leader, which he is going to direct, will star Bérénice Bejo, Tim Roth, Stacy Martin and Robert Pattinson. The script is influenced by everyone from John Fowles and Jean-Paul Sartre, to Volker Schlöndorff’s Young Törless. I suggested checking out Christian Kracht’s cinematic novel Imperium in the Norwegian translation for last minute reading, as pre-production begins next week.

AKT: Tell me about the next projects. Brady: The next film we’re making, I’m directing what Mona and I wrote together and we’re working together very closely from beginning to end as we did with this one. Basically, what determines who takes the lead is just whose story it is to tell.

Mona: And who is not giving birth to a baby.

Brady: And who is not giving birth to a baby. We’re making a film called The Childhood Of A Leader. It’s a historical film, which is one of the reasons why it’s been so difficult to put it together.

AKT: Historical set in what time?

Brady: 1919 mostly. It’s Bérénice Bejo, Tim Roth, Stacy Martin and Robert Pattinson. It’s about a family that relocates to France for the Paris Peace Conference and about the events leading up to the Treaty of Versailles, partially. It’s funny, whereas this project [The Sleepwalker] was about subverting the clichés of psycho-sexual thrillers, this is a historical film that’s not really a historical film. It’s about the childhood of a would-be-fascist. We’ll start shooting in January.

Robert Pattinson Played Guitar On 'Birds' By Death Grips

Robert Pattinson Played Guitar On 'Birds' By Death Grips

UPDATE: In case there was any doubt about this story

From Pitchfork:
It's been confirmed that this is true. Zach Hill recorded Pattinson's guitar with his iPhone and the band sampled the recording on the track.

 photo coolstuff.gif

You can say that again Rob!
So it turns out Rob played guitar on 'Birds' By Death Grips and twitter is a buzz with the news.

 photo phe1dYe-3.jpg

Well we knew he was friends with them (videos from that night out HERE).

 photo Beyonce.jpg

And it was rumoured back in October last year that Rob was working on a short film with Death Grips (we posted about it HERE ) but that rumour was squashed. And strangely enough Birds was mentioned.

He loves throwing us these little surprises like this.

Thankful for Robert Pattinson and his hair!

If you celebrate Thanksgiving you're likely stuffed full and ready for a post turkey nap - but first, let's be thankful for the many hair styles Robert Pattinson has blessed us with over the years.

Patty Blount has been a reader of the blog for years and contacted us about this 4-book series, CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK, that would be a great way to start our RobHoliday ROBsessed Giveaways. Joining 3 other authors, Jeannie Moon, Jolyse Barnett and Jennifer Gracen, Patty has written sweet and emotional stories with some naughty and nice love scenes. ;) The novellas are themed for the holidays and share interwoven characters. Check out some more in the synopses, listed in the book order with Patty penning the last book:

Single mother Sabrina Gervais has built a happy life with her daughter Charlotte in their eastern Long Island hometown of Holly Point. Having Charlie meant putting some of her own dreams on hold, but Sabrina is content to surround herself with family and friends, safe from the realities of the outside world. She had enough of that when the man she loved broke her heart.
Jake Killen’s career in professional hockey has brought him many rewards on and off the ice, but returning to New York brings back a flood of memories. When he sees Sabrina again, he discovers that he didn’t just away from her ten years ago, but also from their unborn child. Struggling with anger, guilt, and chemistry that’s off the chart, Sabrina and Jake wonder if they can find love again and, this Christmas, make all their wishes come true.
photo 91PpN3NeAL_SL1500_.jpgALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS - Jennifer Gracen
Cassandra Baines almost has it all: a flourishing career as one of the youngest English Lit assistant professors at NYU, an apartment in a city she adores, and a close circle of lifelong girlfriends that are like sisters. The only thing she doesn’t have is someone special to share it with. She’s been married to her work since Sean McKinnon broke her heart seven years ago.
Musician and bar owner Sean McKinnon keeps busy – too busy for a love life. He blew it with Cassie all those years ago, and no one has held a candle to her since.
But then one fateful night, of all the people in New York City, Cassandra walks into his bar, and he’s drawn to her as strongly as ever. She wants nothing to do with him, but he’s not going to give up so easily.
Can a bit of New York Christmas magic help two people take a second chance on true love?

photo 91LO6wYaQgL_SL1500_.jpgA LIGHT IN THE WINDOW - Jolyse Barnett
Adirondack girl-in-transition Jade Engel comes home to recharge after ending a career she never truly wanted, but soon realizes she’s in danger of also being swept off her feet by the boy-next-door, her former best friend, Ben Stephens. If only he’d stop kissing her every time she falls into his arms.
Everything local celebrity Ben Stephens ever wanted is in Starling. Then Jade comes home after an eternity away and sends his simple world into a tailspin. He’s determined to pursue her—the one girl who got away. But when their friends-with-benefits arrangement blows up in their faces, will they have the courage to put their pasts to rest in order to forge a future together?

photo 81NzMT5yYRL_SL1500_.jpgGOODNESS AND LIGHT - Patty Blount
Thirteen years ago, two teens met on the ramp to Ground Zero, on a cold and snowy day, strangers bonding in a moment of grief.
The boy pressed a crystal snowflake ornament into the girl’s hand and disappeared into the crowd, unaware that his simple act of kindness saved her from the guilt that threatened to consume her.

Since losing her mom, Elena Larsen hasn’t set foot in New York City -- until now. Agreeing to help her sister prepare for her baby’s birth seems like a good way to spend Christmas and Elena vows not to let the monstrous guilt that weighs on her heart ruin everything. But those plans go awry when she meets Lucas Adair, a man whose own grief and guilt just might rival her own.
When Elena discovers Lucas is the boy who gave her that crystal snowflake all those years ago, she can’t accept it as the sign Lucas believes it to be. For her, it means only one thing --- even beyond the grave, her mother can never forgive Elena for breaking her heart.
For Lucas, New York is hallowed ground that he can never leave. He spends his days working in the Financial District and his evenings volunteering and it’s almost enough to help him forget what he did. Lucas knows better than to make plans with a woman who will soon be leaving, yet can’t help himself. There’s something about Elena that pulls him in. He doesn’t put much faith in signs but even he starts to believe Elena is his absolution. Now, he only has to convince her.

I'm still reading the adventures in Nightingale which feels like a great read for the holidays. The writing continues to transport me and I'm often bothered when I'm pulled away from the story. That's when you know it's good. But it's thanksgiving and I want to take a moment to say thank you to counselor. If you've been reading Deep in the Heart of Me like I've been suggesting or because you're a counselor addict like me, then you know she's given the blog many shoutouts for months when I bring up her stories here. FKA twigs talks about making Robert Pattinson happy, long distance and more to Interview magazine: "He is so sweet"

photo B3aL6O_IgAADapvjpg-large.jpgExcerpt from translated cover story in Interview (Germany):
Interview: Are you not scared that your music loses beside your new boyfriend?
FKA twigs: Not as long as the music sets the tone (laughs).
Interview: I was allowed to interview your new friend one year ago. He was the first star my daughter met.*
FKA twigs: Oh? Where? Now I already love your daughter.
Interview: In Los Angeles. She was six weeks old.
FKA twigs: Was he nice to her? Has he picked her up?
Interview: No, then he could have bitten her.
FKA twigs: (laughs) But you have interviewed him?
Interview: He was charming as only Englishmen can be.
FKA twigs: He is so sweet.
Interview: And unexpectedly funny. Still he looked sad in a certain kind. I hope you can take this from him.
FKA twigs: I try!
Interview: Are you afraid to lead a so known long distance relationship?
FKA twigs: Why should I have to?
Interview: Because everybody watches and you find no time for yourself?
FKA twigs: You simply have to take the time. If two persons really want to see each other, then this is going to work. And it works with us quite well!
