FKA Twigs Talks About Her Relationship With Robert Pattinson To NY Times

FKA Twigs Talks About Her Relationship With Robert Pattinson To NY Times

In a recent interview with The NY Times  FKA Twigs was asked about her relationship with Rob. Check out what she had to say in the excerpt under the pic.

photo Robert Pattinson FKA Twigs Met Gala 15.jpg

From The NY Times
Ms. Barnett likes to say she’s “masquerading as a pop star,” while also being sucked into the vortex of “Twilight,” with photographers around the world chronicling her relationship with Mr. Pattinson. “It’s really hard — I can’t begin to explain how awful it is,” she said. “It makes you want to just stop everything sometimes. It makes you want to smash your face into the mirror."

Worst of all are the racial insults — she is biracial — on Twitter and Instagram, some of them from die-hard fans of Mr. Pattinson. “It’s relentless,” she said. She insisted that the attention their relationship draws does not help her professionally. “There’s no amount of songs I can sing or dances I can dance that will prove to them I’m not a monkey.”

“I didn’t see my life going this way at all,” Ms. Barnett said of recent events. “But it’s worth it. I’m so happy.”

.....

Ahead of rehearsal this week, she met Mr. Pattinson on a Chelsea street corner in broad daylight, no tinted S.U.V. in sight, and strolled off with a hand around his waist.
It's sad to read that the NY Times are blaming Rob fans for the racial insults being sent to Twigs. Hopefully they'll edit the article and correct their error.

Robert Pattison:I Don’t Even Think I’m a Real Man Yet :)

Another new and good interview where Rob talks about his new project, the relationship of Bella/Edward and Jacob and his sex symbol status.

It's an exclusive from Nieuwsblad.be. Thanks to Pinklien for the translation :)

Robert Pattinson: “Some fans scare me”
(Exclusive interview)

Everywhere he appears, teenage girls start screaming. And he didn’t even bite them. A conversation with teen idol Robert Pattinson, alias the vampire Edward Cullen from Twilight.

It’s been since Leonardo DiCaprio that an actor has been so intensely worshipped as Robert Pattinson. Thousands of girls (an older women) everywhere would love to have Edward bite them – Robert Pattinson in real life, R-Pattz for his fans.

How do you deal with all the media-craziness? There are books about your life-story, and you aren’t even dead yet. (bit weird to say IMO)

RP: Yes, I saw that there are 7 unauthorized biographies, and they all start at my 20th. I think Im dealing with it as good as possible. The past year, I have been working non-stop so the biggest Twilight craziness passed me by. My life and Twilight, it are 2 separate things.

Being famous is a lifestyle, but Im only a foetus in that celebrity-world. Im better at it than in the beginning, but I would hate it if there would be people hanging around my house for the rest of my life. It would drive me crazy. Why do people want a picture of me and them at all costs? I don’t get that. I think of myself as boring.

How different was shooting New Moon in comparison with the first part?

RP: Very different. With the first movie, there were a lot of people all pulling in a different direction. The studio wanted to create a basis for a franchise, because it had already been settled that it would be a trilogy. The bosses thought the movie had to appeal to as much people as possible. Director Catherine Hardwicke had made a lot of independent movies and she sometimes was like an unguided projectile, she had so much energy. Kristen and I had our own ideas about the characters and we both are rather stubborn.

But the mega success of the first movie has made everyone more calm. We are less insecure. The studio bosses know that we are going to make the right decisions. We also have Chris Weitz as the new director. He’s very calm and got everyone ready very fast. We have all worked so hard.

Have you seen New Moon a few times yet?

RP: Once. I still think it’s a torture to see myself on the big screen. But this time it wasn’t a punishment. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it. That hadn’t happened since the beginning of my career.

Don’t you think it’s frightening to see how obsessed some fans are?

RP: Definitely. When the Twilight hype broke out, I sometimes had visions of my getting stabbed by a crazy fan. Those crowds at premieres… Im not at ease. When we were shooting New Moon in Vancouver, some fans would be out there for 3 days in a row, good or bad weather. At times like that, your instinct tells you: that is a weirdo and your imagination runs wild. But mostly it’s not so bad when you go and talk to that person.

Twilight is just my job, but for a fan, it’s something they desperately want to be a part of. Is that wrong? Im not so sure anymore. A fan is a fan, that’s all. It just takes a while before you get used to the fact that what you do, gets appreciated by people.

Have you ever been a fan of someone?

When I first saw ‘One flew over the cuckoo’s nest’, I was 16 and that movie has influenced me so much. I even started to dress like Jack Nicholson. That period lasted for a long time. I also had a thing for Patricia Arquette. But I don’t think that any of that has influenced my work. (laugh)

In New Moon, the young Taylor Lautner plays a wolf, Jacob. What did you think when you saw his muscles?

RP: That I needed to hit the gym stat. (laugh) No, I think it’s ok. It’s funny: for some reason, when you’re an actor in a teen movie, they expect you to have a six pack. So when I see a guy that meets every expectation of a teenage girl, I do get a complex yeah. Actually, that was perfect to get into my role. I now know the feeling of having to prove myself against someone younger than me.

You have a great connection with Kristen, that isn’t a secret. But in this movie, there’s also a lot of chemistry between her and Taylor. Were you jealous?

RP: No. In New Moon, we only have like 3 scenes with the three of us. I barely had the chance to be jealous. When I had to work, Taylor wasn’t around because Bella and Jacobs story line was developing without me. In Eclipse, the third movie, which we wrapped a while ago, it’s totally different. There’s a lot more interaction between the characters. Taylor and I were teasing each other the whole time.

This time, Taylor is the leading man. Does that take some pressure off your shoulders?

RP: Asolutely. I keep on saying this is Taylors movie. Im not the lead role. He’s fully responsible and that’s a win-win situation. If it’s a flop, I can always say that it’s because Im in it less. (laugh)

What’s next on your agenda?

RP: It has been a weird year. I have been working non-stop, with 4 days off at the most. First there was New Moon, then Eclipse. I was pretty relieved when we could wrap at the end of October. I finally got to sleep in. But we didn’t get much rest, with the promo tour for New Moon coming up. In February I will go to Budapest to shoot Bel Ami. Not with Nicole Kidman, as reported first. Im not allowed to say who it is yet. Ive also signed on for Unbound Captives, a romantic drama with Rachel Weisz. But chances are that before all that, I'm expected on the set of the forth Twilight movie.

Megan Fox is the most beautiful woman in the world and she said that title has made her shy. What do you think of the fact that some magazines call you the most sexy man on the planet?

RP: God, I don’t even think I’m a real man yet (laugh)

Robert Pattinson Gets A New Stoli Shirt

Ladies and Gentleman the day is finally here!

According to Peter Facinelli : Robert Pattinson has a new Stoli shirt!

Let's back up a little and give you the history :)

Rob and his Stoli shirt has a long lasting love affair.

They've been together through thick and thin. Through rips and awful stitchin':

Through dirty days when he would just wear it inside out:

Fans fell in love with the Stoli shirt as much as they fell in love with Rob :)

And Jen from MyRobertPattinson.com finally decided it was time to get him a new one! Well, kinda new. Here is how the shirt was bought:

Jen: The shirt is vintage from a man in NYC that got it as a gift years ago and never wore it. I bought it from this man on eBay for a winning bid of $2.23. As you all know, this is approx. $1.24 more than what Rob usually spends on his shirts that he buys at Goodwill's 99 cent shirt rack.
Only love, Jen

It's not the same, it's in English and it's black but let's be honest, it's free & was sent with love :)

The letter attached:

We've been on Stoli Shirt watch since the day it was sent and today Peter Facinelli told us he got the shirt! Here is to hoping he'll wear it soon and make us all squee like little fan girls :)

To read more about how the Stoli shirt was sent head over to Random Acts of Rob :)

What is The Little Ashes Movement?

It's a fan movement. We provided a list of theaters(HERE) including the theaters that are already scheduled to play Little Ashes. If it's not playing at a theater near you you need to call and request Little Ashes from the theater listed.

It's as simple as that. We made it happen at a lot of theaters in US. Theaters left us messages saying "okay don't call anymore we ARE scheduling the movie" :)

YOU can make it happen. If there is a number we've listed in your area call and ask them if they will be showing Little Ashes, if they say no then politely ask them to look into it since it's a great movie with Robert Pattinson and you and tons of other people would really love to see it.

Unless there is a SCORE next to the movie theater or you see your theater on the Little Ashes Schedule page the number and theater listed is not playing Little Ashes. It's a theater that we've listed so you and other fans can call and request the movie :)

Is it only for US?

No. We now have Australia, Austria, Canada,Germany, India, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States on our list!

Little Ashes in Tampa, Florida

Thanks to cinnamon_toast_crunch from imdb for keeping the Little Ashes Movement going when I am not able to. You rock chika!

Good News for Tampa residents! There is a special event going on at the Tampa Theater in Florida on May 15-17.

Dr. Hank Hine, director of the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, has seen the Little Ashes already and will host a Q&A after Saturday's 7:30pm showing on May 16th.

Other museum officers will handle those duties after Friday and Sunday's 7:30pm performances.

From tampabay.com:

Paul Morrison's Little Ashes, a portrait of the artist Salvador Dali as a young man, is more than a movie to Dr. Hank Hine. As director of the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg since 2001, Hine sees Little Ashes as another method of expanding awareness of Dali, his unique life and accomplishments.

Hine viewed a DVD copy of Little Ashes before discussing it with the St. Petersburg Times. He'll also appear at Saturday night's 7:30 screening of the film at the Tampa Theatre to answer questions after the show. (Other museum officers will handle those duties at Friday and Sunday's 7:30 performances.)

Little Ashes deals with Dali during his academy days, forging friendships with his peers, filmmaker Luis Bunuel and poet Federico Garcia Lorca. Is that a wise focus?

I wasn't sure what story they would weave together because there are so many stories in Dali's life, so many associations with so many different people in different contexts: from Spain, to Picasso and the surrealists in Paris, his connections to the United States, Hollywood, the Beatles, the Pope, (Francisco) Franco, the king of Spain. . . . But I think this was a good filmic choice, to choose a moment of formative intersections, connecting to these other artists who hold great interest for the public.

Especially with Lorca, whom the movie depicts as sharing a homoerotic romance with Dali.

First of all, it's not known if they were lovers. Dali was always ambiguous about it. I don't think there's anything documented about Dali having homosexual relations.

He did have a great deal of curiosity about other people's sexuality. He liked being voyeuristic. These other things are not known, but one imagines from the elasticity in his own identity that he could have been bisexual.

I'm sure that will surprise fans of Robert Pattinson (Twilight), who plays Dali. What did you think of his portrayal?

He did a good job of capturing that noncommittal aspect of Dali, who wasn't committed to the Lorca relationship, nor was he fully withdrawn; he vacillated.

What we're told about Dali — and this is the place where (the film) may have overstepped a bit — is that he was really reticent about any kind of physical contact. They did a good job establishing his reticence, that ambivalence he had about connecting with others.

I was surprised that the movie, at least in early scenes, portrays Dali as socially awkward, not the brash artist we know best.

As (Dali) describes it, he had a lot of social unease. When he met (artist) Paul Eluard and his wife, Gala (who later married Dali), they came to visit and apparently Dali used to laugh uncontrollably, get almost hysterical. Gala, he claims, was the calming influence in his life.

Little Ashes is fairly conventional filmmaking, although Dali's art and life were anything but conventional. How do you think he would feel about this movie?

Dali was famous for saying: "The more confusion, the better." To the extent that the movie shows a confused view of his sexuality, I think he would applaud it.

Birthday Festivities for Rob in Indonesia

This is crazy, cute, weird, awesome, bizzaah and lovely combined in 1 video :) Rob's fans in Indonesia got together on May 9th to celebrate his birthday and made this video. I can't stop smiling. :)

Here is Sheeva's letter and the video:

Dear Gozde and Dani,

We're from Indonesian Twilighters and we made a birthday wishes video from our RPattz' birthday party celebration. Would you kindly put in on your website? It would mean a lot to us. Thank you so much. (Gozde: Thanks for sending it to us :))

Little Ashes Movement - Day 35 and New Clip

Little Ashes clip - It's perfect

We are on Day 35 of our Official ROBsessed Little Ashes Movement!

Little Ashes had quite an impressive opening weekend in limited theaters, hopefully that was enough for other venues to get Little Ashes. If not, we still have the power of email and calls :) YOU can make it happen for you and other fans ;)

We have 1 SCORE today: Opening July 3, Majestic Theatre, 25 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325, 717-337-8200, http://www.gettysburgmajestic.org Score!

Our Italian reader Alessandra contacted producer Carlo Dusi and learned that Little Ashes is looking for a distributor in Italy. She says:
I contacted the producer of Little Ashes (Carlo Dusi) who told me the movie hasn't an Italian distributor yet. So he asks fan' support to find one.
I'd written an e-mail to Eagle Pictures which was the Italian distributor of Twilight. They have not replied me yet. I think it's better concentrate our efforts on just one distributor. Fans can e-mail to Eagle Picture from their web site www.eaglepictures.com in "Contatti".

And our Mexican reader Daniela says:

Hello, I sent my request and got a reply. Though they answered that they still don't have a date and distributor, they promise to look in to it and if we bombard them with e-mails, they should do something right? the name of the movie theather is CINEPOLIS. This is the e-mail address: cineticket_mlm@cinepolis.com.mx
For non-Spanish speaking people. they can just copy the following text and send the e-mail to help us get this movement started here! This is one of the largest chains in Mexico.
Spanish Text: Hola, sus cines son lo maximo! me gustaria sugerir la pelicula "Little Ashes"(Sin Limites)para la cartelera. Espero la proyecten pronto. Saludos

You can see the theaters that are showing Little Ashes here (for Spain) and here (for US).

YES WE CAN

What is The Little Ashes Movement?

It's a fan movement. We provided a list of theaters(HERE) including the theaters that are already scheduled to play Little Ashes. If it's not playing at a theater near you you need to call and request Little Ashes from the theater listed. If we do not have a theater listed for you then leave us a comment with the name and number of the theater and we'll update the list the next day.

How do I know if the theaters on your list is showing Little Ashes or if it's a request line?

Unless there is a SCORE next to the movie theater or you see your theater on the Little Ashes Schedule page the number and theater listed is not playing Little Ashes. It's a theater that we've listed so you and other fans can call and request the movie :)

Is it only for US?

No. We now have Australia, Austria, Canada,Germany, India, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States on our list!

A big thanks to cinnamon_toast_crunch from imdb for all her work on this! She is truly awesome!

Thanks to Robert Pattinson Australia, Little Ashes Promotional Blitz, RobPattzNews,RPOdotcom, Amber from Eyes of Amber for their support :)

Little Ashes Love

Hi guys,

I wanted to share this comment from Alayne because I think it represents the love and dedication people have for Rob and his work. It shows why Little Ashes Movement worked. Maybe it's the birthday blues, maybe it's waking up to a love fest by all of you but I was really touched and had tears when I read it. (Thanks for all the BDay wishes;))

I am not encouraging you to follow Alayne's advice nor am I discouraging. I am however encouraging all of you to go to the cinemas tomorrow, Saturday or Sunday to see Little Ashes, I wish I could ;)

Here is Alayne's message unedited ;)

GODZE (love your blog), I would love your opinion and the opinion of the wonderful ROBsessors on this thought I have. I live in Wilmington NC and Little Ashes is not playing this weekend anywhere even close to where I live but I want to support the movie, especially on this opening weekend. So I was thinking of purchasing tickets to a showing, via Fandango, at a theater that is showing it in another state. Obviously I won't be able to use the tickets but atleast my purchase of the tickets would go towards the opening weekend "stats". I am just concerned that my purchasing the tickets would keep someone else from seeing the movie (if it sells out). I thought of purchasing the tickets last minute to either a early matine or really late night showing.... what do you think. I really want to support this movie and Rob and am so frustrated that I can't do it locally.

Also, it is driving me crazy as I look at what is playing at any theater within 400 miles of my home this weekend to try and find Little Ashes and I keep seeing 17 Again and Hannah Montana ARGGGHHH... makes me want to rip my eyes out... hehe

Any opinions and thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
