Forget Zod. What villain would Robert Pattinson really be disguised as at Comic Con?

Forget Zod. What villain would Robert Pattinson really be disguised as at Comic Con?

Rob excerpt from Entertainment Weekly:
Now that it’s the last Twilight appearance at Comic-Con, Robert Pattinson told EW he realized he would like to come back someday and experience it as an attendee (in costume, of course). “I’d love it,” he says. “Maybe a Darth Vader mask or something.”

The question first came up at the Breaking Dawn –Part 2 panel when an audience member asked Pattinson and Stewart what villain they’d choose to dress up as if they came to Comic-Con for fun. Stewart, with a sly smile, said the Evil Queen — a nod to her co-star in Snow White and the Huntsman. Pattinson named Zod.

“I can’t believe I said Zod,” Pattinson said a couple of hours later, relaxing in a much-quieter-than-Hall-H hotel room. “He’s the bad guy from Superman II. I actually have no idea why I said him. I just remember, ‘Kneel before Zod‘. Now that’s been stuck in my head all day.” The actor estimates that he probably last saw Superman II when he was 9-years-old.

New/Old Breaking Dawn press junket video with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner

New/Old Breaking Dawn press junket video with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner

This is a throwback press junket video from the UK during Breaking Dawn promo but it's great. Rob is super cute. Surprise! :)

Highlights:
  • Talks about how it's tough sometimes to look directly in the camera for scenes and says when Kristen was walking down the aisle, he had to imagine what his face would look like. I loved his face then! *swoon*
  • Rob talks about shooting in Rio was amazing and tells funny stories of being able to walk around like normal in Rio but a vampire in Forks needs to keep a low profile. Also tells us it looks like he's wearing a bra in the movie. LOL
  • Talks about how crazy the Break Dawn script/story first read. Also, that fans appear to remain supportive of the series.

David Cronenberg Tells GQ UK About The Secret To Filming A Sex Scene, Robert Pattinson Fans & Lots More

I don't know about you but I've gotten to love David Cronenberg more & more after reading/seeing all the interviews with him and getting to know him and his sense of humour throughout the "Cosmopolis" promo.

Here he talks to GQ UK about the secret to filming a sex scene, Robert Pattinson fans, the best pick up lines & lots more!

Photobucket

His room in London's Corinthia hotel is as quiet as the hermetically sealed limousine in which Robert Pattinson travels through New York's riot-torn streets. David Cronenberg, the 69-year-old Canadian director and undisputed master of "body horror", AKA the man who taught Keira Knightley to love spanking (Kate: O.O) and turned Jeff Goldblum into a "Brundlefly", has the manner of kindly professor. Whether discussing his new big-screen Don DeLillo adaptation or his thoughts on the insane levels of Twilight fan adoration, he treats every question with a detached wry amusement.(Kate: Gotta love him!) To mark his new film Cosmopolis arriving in cinemas, Cronenberg sat down with GQ.com to talk about some very uncomfortable topics…

GQ.com: Over the years you've appeared in London as everything from a tabloid sensation to a red carpet celebrity. What was your earliest memory of the city?
David Cronenberg: The city has been a constant in my life really since the mid Sixties. I saw the Rolling Stones at the London Palladium in 1965, as well as the Unit 4 + 2 and the Moody Blues. The Stones were fantastic - "Satisfaction" was their big hit at the time and it was great when they started to unleash it on the fans. It was funny being in Portugal with Rob because we had a red carpet that went on for about a solid kilometre straight, lined by literally a thousand girls screaming. It reminded me of the Stones in London.

NOW Toronto got a chance to sit down with Rob and David during Cosmopolis promo in Canada. Of course there was insight and hilarity. :)
Robert Pattinson wasn’t expecting to star in Cosmopolis. In point of fact, he didn’t think a director like David Cronenberg would even consider him for the project.

“I never really took myself seriously as an actor before,” he says, barely awake the morning after the movie’s gala Toronto premiere. “And [then] you get cast in a movie like this, and it gets to Cannes and it’s not a total disaster, and I haven’t brought down David’s entire career…”

Cronenberg’s eyes crinkle. “We’ll see,” the director says. “That’s still in the future.” (Tink: These two need to go on the road...oh wait...)

On the verge of burning out after shooting the two-part Twilight finale, Breaking Dawn, Pattinson had been thinking seriously about pulling back from movies.

“I was fully intending on hiding for a couple of years,” Pattinson says. (Tink: *wide eyed* That's the scariest thing I've ever read.)

“I only wanted to do small parts. The time is gone – for me, especially – when you could learn on the job. I mean, even the idea of going to a repertory company or something – everybody’s going to be filming it on their phone, and it’s exactly the same thing in movies pretty much. So I wanted to try to do small parts in movies I thought I could learn something from. But then this came up.” (Tink: So basically we have David Cronenberg to thank for preventing a devastating, indefinite drought.)

“This” was the role of Eric Packer, a billionaire financial wizard who experiences a professional and personal collapse over one very long car ride across Manhattan in Cronenberg’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s allegorical novel. The way Cronenberg structured the movie – shooting in sequence, often sealing Pattinson and his co-stars into a limousine and directing them remotely – pushed Pattinson to a kind of creative epiphany.

“It takes away a lot of the problems of self-consciousness,” he says. “I did a movie where a lot of it was underwater” (that’d be Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, which put him on the map as doomed golden boy Cedric Diggory), “and it kind of felt a little bit like that. You feel like you have very little to prove when you’re in such a tiny space. There’s very little of the outside world coming in, so it’s pretty simple.”

Cronenberg so enjoyed putting Pattinson through Packer’s paces that he’s eager to repeat the experience, possibly with another member of his repertory company.

“You meet people that you work with and you feel you’d really like to work with them again,” he says. “I felt that way about Rob, and I felt that way, obviously, about Viggo [Mortensen]. And then I started to think, ‘Wow, Rob and Viggo in the same movie would be terrific,’ because I know they’d get along, but I also think creatively, onscreen, it’d be fantastic. But I don’t have a project, exactly; we have some possibilities. So we’re talking about it. It’s possible it’ll never happen, because it’s just so hard to get things made, really – especially anything interesting. That’s sort of where I am, making movies that are hard to get made.” (Tink: GAH. This really needs to happen. Fingers crossed!)

In all seriousness, though, the two do expect to collaborate on another picture.

“We feel that fate will bring us together again,” says Cronenberg.

“I’m setting up a PayPal account,” Pattinson laughs.

“Yes, that’s right,” Cronenberg says. “We’re crowdsourcing. Please, if you’ve got any money on you right now, just put it on the table.” (Tink: They're joking but they should do this. Can you imagine? Rob sets up a PayPal account and wow. Watch the fandom money flow in. I know I'd finance anything for Rob. I'll sell the farm and my kidney. Anything for Rob. *wink*)

Philip Glenister On "Bel Ami" & Robert Pattinson & His Fans

Philip Glenister spoke to the DailyMail and talked about his part in "Bel Ami" and about Robert Pattinson and his Fans

Photobucket

Philip Glenister is not given to musing about his work. He’s a jobbing actor – or at least that’s what he’d have you believe. When asked what made him commit to playing Charles Forestier, a journalist in 19th-century Paris in new film Bel Ami he quips, ‘I was free on a Tuesday.’

But much about Philip is a front. Behind the gruff exterior – which he used to great effect as the brash DCI Gene Hunt in Life On Mars and its sequel Ashes To Ashes – is not quite a softie, but certainly someone who cares about his craft and works hard. He just likes to joke about it.

I ask him whether he had any journalists in mind when playing Forestier, the man who gives Robert Pattinson’s caddish character Georges Duroy his big break. ‘I based it on Piers Morgan,’ he says with a cackle.

Forestier and his wife, Madeleine, played by Uma Thurman, take Duroy under their wing, and she advises him the best way to get on in Paris is via the city’s most influential wives. Duroy embarks on some torrid affairs and steamy bedroom scenes as he scales the social ladder.

So how was it working with such impressive actors on the risqué period drama? Word is, Uma can be temperamental. ‘She’s bonkers,’ he jokes. And then there was Robert, one of the hottest actors in the world thanks to his role in the Twilight films. ‘We were filming at a house in Hertfordshire adjoining a school. The pupils got wind of it and started chanting, “Robert, Robert”. We had to threaten them with cattle prods!’ (Kate: Yeah right Phillip {giggle})

Anthony Mackie talks about hanging out with Robert Pattinson

Anthony Mackie talks about hanging out with Robert Pattinson

This is TOO funny. I can't tell if he's completely serious or partly serious.

In case you can't view the interview, here's the report from MTV:

File this one under Random Yet Notable. It has come to our attention that our favorite Robert Pattinson and fellow actor/all-around likable guy Anthony Mackie are total BFFs. Well, I'm saying BFFs; they're saying "good friends." The point is, while I like to think everyone knows everyone else in Hollywood, I had no idea Rob and Anthony are bros.

When MTV News caught up with Anthony recently during the press day for his upcoming heist/thriller "Man On a Ledge," talk somehow turned to the subject of vampires and the fact that Anthony wants to be in a sixth "Twilight" movie.

"Rob, a good friend of mine, we were actually hanging out last night. I told him, 'Man, you know I gotta be in that "Twilight: Part Six.'" He told me he's going to look out for me."

Yes, I'm aware that here are currently no plans for a "Twilight: Part Six," but I was too distracted by the revelation about this new celeb bromance to ask more details about that. Instead I asked Anthony how on earth he and Rob became friends.

"Me and Rob have been hanging out forever," he said. "He's a good dude."

In knowing how Rob likes to karaoke with his dude friends, I then asked Anthony if they've ever hit the karaoke bars together or sung duets.

"No, no. I saw him do karaoke. I was a little bit too shy to get up there," Anthony admitted. "He sang this Billy Joel song, that's when we did this Billy Joel, Billy Ocean medley. [It was] really crazy but it worked out."

Even better, Anthony revealed that Rob taught him how to do the all-important Edward Cullen Suspense Look, which he was all too happy to demonstrate for me.

"How's that? It's good, huh? I'm telling you, I'm working on it. There's got to be a black vampire. [We have] sweet blood, come on." (Um, hello! What about Laurent?)

So what does Rob think about Anthony making an appearance in a future "Twilight" movie?

"He's down. We hang out more than we work together," he said. "He's my dude."

And just an FYI, Anthony is also best buds with a couple other favorites: Ryan Gosling (he and The Gos were in the movie "Half Nelson" together, as well as the upcoming "Gangster Squad") and Jeremy Renner (from their work on "The Hurt Locker").
There is too much goodness in this post. I'm still trying to process Afrikaans and now more Rob tidbits we didn't know.

Blast From The Past : Robert Pattinson As Cedric Diggory

This Robert Pattinson pic was doing the rounds today as a NEW pic so I thought this is as good a reason as any to do a flashback of Rob as Cedric Diggory because that's where this pic comes from.

Photobucket

It's NOT new. It's a screencap of Rob being interviewed in a Behind The Scenes programme on Harry Potter GOF that was filmed for UK TV.

Here's the video it's from at the 3:54 mark

And because I got all sentimental looking at this, I ended up watching the whole programme!

ALL of the vids are after the cut in case you want to do the same and also another little funny flashback (that a lot of you may remember) because who doesn't love Cedric?

Awesome - "Breaking Dawn Part 1" is one of the most popular movies of 2011. It has climbed to the top of the movie charts worldwide and made 500 Mio Euro so far. Everyone loves vampire Edward and werewolf Jacob. But are the two principal performers Robert Pattinson (25) and Taylor Lautner (19) heroes in real life, too? And what happened if they wouldn't only dominate the movie hit lists but also the whole world? That's what BRAVO wanted to know - and as always they don't agree on each other's opinion...

BRAVO: Imagine you were the kings of the world - what dreams of yours would you make come true?
ROB: First of all, I would standardize the system of education. It's way too complicated all over the world. Also, kids and teens are taught too little for their future and what they really need in later life.
ROB: Oh! I have another idea: teleporting! I would use the whole national property to do research in teleporting. You could beam yourself anywhere, no more pollution by cars and aircraft!

BRAVO: And what would you prohibit right away?
ROB: I would prohibit boring people (laughs). In my opinion there's nothing worse. People who are boring would be put in prison and there they would be forced to learn to be creative together with the other prisoners.

BRAVO: And where would your capital city be?
ROB: I would found my own city called 'Shit City'. Some daunting name so that nobody would like to live there at all. It would be located on the Fiji Islands - a paradise for me only!

BRAVO: Which song would be your national anthem?
ROB: 'Wannabe' by Spice Girls.
BRAVO: Eh? Why this song?
ROB: I think it's funny that all the stupid politicians would have to salute to this song. A matching song for all the wannabe-politicians!
BRAVO: Who would be your Queen?
ROB: Mmh... Any woman who loves to run a country. But I would never force anyone to do it! (laughs) (Kate: Like anyone would have to be forced)
BRAVO: What would you wish your commoners?
ROB: I think everyone should have the opportunity to accomplish what they want with all their heart.

Rob is a natural when he does the TV circuit. He's so charming and witty. Humble and polite. Funny and a good sport. Rob does an amazing job as PromoRob and doesn't disappoint when he appears on TV. Between Water for Elephants and Breaking Dawn, he made over 10 appearances! Baby works hard for his money. It's not easy to find the full episodes for TV shows but I managed to scrounge up the full interviews for most of the nominees. You likely remember these but just in case, take a trip down Rob-emory Lane.

As I was saying yesterday we are back to our daily alliteration posts and as it's Saturday it's time for Showcase Saturday With Robert Pattinson.

So sit back and enjoy these sexy snippets of Rob

These first 2 vids I've had marked for showcase Saturday for a while, I love the editing in them, I just wish they were longer although I'm hot and bothered enough looking at them so maybe it's best that they're not any longer.

And finally seeing as the other 2 vids are super short, check out this one of some of Robert Pattinson's Funny Moments. Are your favourites here?
UPDATE: For some reason the person who made the vid seems to have put it on private ;-(
