Sam Bradley Talks about Rob

From celebuzz.com:

It was a little like old times for musician Sam Bradley as he took the stage at the Vancouver Grandview Legion hall last Friday night.

His good friend since the age of 12, Robert Pattinson was in attendance. Although Pattinson remained out-of-sight from the general public during the show, his presence was certainly felt by Bradley.

"Every time I made a mistake, I kept looking over," Bradley tells Celebuzz. "At one point I walked off-stage and just started laughing." Bradley was playing the cover of "Man's World" by James Brown, ran into some problems and left the stage to pick up his folder. He looked up at Pattinson hanging out in the stage wings, out-of-sight. "I just started laughing," says Bradley. "And he was just smiling back."(Gozde: Video in question at the bottom of the post)

Bradley moved from London — where he and Pattinson grew up and where the once shared an apartment — and now lives in Vancouver where Pattinson is shooting the Twilight sequel New Moon. While the two have collaborated on songs (they co-wrote "Never Think" for the Twilight soundtrack) and spent countless hours jamming together, Pattinson never took the stage Friday night. "I'm sure he would have loved to have, but there's a lot more pressure that comes for him now," says Bradley.

"He can't just go up and play a song anymore. So many people are going to listen. He wants to get things right."

Nor did Pattinson even make a public appearance at the show. No doubt, in light of the predominantly female presence ready to pounce on any chance at the Twilight star. "I don't think that would have been the wisest of decisions, not if he wanted to enjoy the show," says Sam. "I was about all there was for extra security."

Instead, Pattinson stayed in the wings, only visible from odd angles on the stage. The lack of visibility even had some fans questioning if he was even at the show.

Robert did as much as he could behind the scenes, not only coming to the show, but also joining Bradley at a rehearsal on the previous Thursday. "It was great, he'd never seen me with my band," says Bradley. "I'm a little more free and wilder."

Further, Pattinson no doubt had much to do with the extra buzz surrounding the show

'Twilight' appreciation

Catapulted into the Twilight spotlight with the soundtrack song, Bradley says he enjoys the loyal fans and the showcase it has allowed for him. "It's not crazy for me. They appreciate me and they're showing their appreciation."

It's been quite a journey from a late-night music session that led to "Never Think", to Rob bringing it to the attention of the Twilight film-makers once he landed the part of Edward Cullen. "I remember I was walking to a gas station to use the bathroom," says Sam. "And I got a phone call from Rob saying a lawyer is going to call you in a second. The song is going in the soundtrack. I was crossing my legs and skipping. I guess I was skipping about both reasons."(Gozde: LMAO!!! So Sam and Rob has a lot in common: Over sharing :)) Love it!)

From these humble beginnings, the rest has been magical with the soundtrack popularity.

"It's laying a fantastic foundation for me in my musical journey," says Sam. "It was so quick! Soundtrack, boom. Then film, boom. And people started hearing my songs."

"I'm very lucky to be part of this phenomena," he says. "And they don't want me to take my clothes off."(Gozde: Says who?!?)

As for the Cullen boy that many would like to see without clothes, Bradley says, "There's no formula for handling this. But he's handling it very well."

"He's taking this all in stride. This is his job now."

The Truth from Rob's Mouth: I Haven't Even Been on Set Yet!

Rob answers all the questions that's been going around the past few weeks! Oh how I love thee...

A BIG thanks to moviefone and Angie Argabrite for this interview!

These days, you can't look at a gossip rag or website without finding some new -- often outrageous -- story about Robert Pattinson, the red-hot star of 'Twilight.'

When we talked to Pattinson in anticipation of his upcoming film 'Little Ashes' (in theaters May 8, 2009), we decided to get the sexy 22-year-old's take on a few recent headlines.

Find out if he really took a fan to dinner, his response to Ryan Reynolds' admiration ... and if the guy showers.

1. I heard that you follow all the online gossip about yourself?

I read that and thought it was such bullshit. I was like, "God, I sound like such a loser!"

2. So it's not true?

Well, I do sometimes. I used to a lot more before and then ... I only look at the negative stuff. I just want to know whoever's saying negative stuff, and I just want to remember their names. I write it all down in my black book. [Laughs] (Gozde: Note to self: nothing positive about Rob from now on and include your phone number at the end of each post. Maybe he'll call to tell you off! :))

3. Is it true that you took a fan out for dinner?

That is true, yeah.

4. Is it true that, I don't know if you saw this, but a source on the set of 'New Moon' said that you don't smell good, that you don't shower?

I haven't even been on the set yet!(Gozde: Take that Teddy C.!)

5. You know the same thing went around about Zac Efron a while ago; that he doesn't shower.

Really? He looks like he smells really good [laughs]. I also do shower.(Gozde: somebody ask for a picture proof next time. Him in the shower. I am just being a responsible "journalist" :))

6. I also read that you got hit on the head with a sign while you were filming?

You know, that is the most ... I actually got told about that this morning. It's like, "What?" It's the most boring story.

7. I just watched a Ryan Reynolds video interview and he called you "dreamy" and said he'd love to work with you.

[Embarrassed laugh] Really?

8. Is there anyone you'd love to work with?

Ryan Reynolds! [Laugh] ... I've always wanted to work with Benicio Del Toro, I think he's amazing. And there are tons and tons of people ...

You know our Hannah from the "Comments" section and CB? Well she went to see Little Ashes at the Belfast Film Festival last night and here is her review for "mature" audiences :))

I am rating this review R. Don't read if you are under 18 :)

Somebody said I should have put a spoiler alert on this review. I am quite the spoilerphobe myself but I didn't see anything that wasn't already in the trailers. But still, here is your spoiler alert :)) The review talks about some of the scenes in the movie.

Little Ashes Review
I am no less than delighted to say that I attended the Little Ashes Irish Premiere in Belfast. To me, my Little Ashes ticket was like Charlie's Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka's factory. I honestly was bursting at the seams with excitement! I will hold my hands up and admit that there were 2 main reasons for my impatient excitement; One being Rob and Two being Naked Rob! Well ladies, I am happy to say he delivers on all accounts :D

The Film Festival organisers introduced Paul Morrison (Director), Javier Beltram (Lorca) and Marina Gatell (Magdelena) to present the movie. Paul Morrison was very grateful for all the support Little Ashes was receiving already and hopeful that it's audience would feel 'the something special' that the cast and crew felt they were creating while filming.

Little Ashes focuses on, what is essentially, the love story between Salvador Dali and Fredrico Garcia Lorca. Their friendship begins with a mutual passion of the arts and it develops in to a strong but suffering love affair.

Throughout the movie, Dali transforms from a loveable eccentric artist with big ideas to a fame hungry and overtly anomalous character. By the end of the movie, Dali has become surrealism personified. Rob not only portrays this entirely but also does it in a way that we empathize with Dali and his agonized love for Lorca. He also had the audience in fits of laughter with his quirky expressions, outspokenness and bizarre 'Dali dance' (I’m sure you have all seen the clip!)
This movie proves that Rob is no one trick pony that we're all worried Twilight will make him be seen as. The evidence is in his talent to embody a man that was so ludicrously perplex and detached from reality and play it to near perfection.

For Rob’s lusty fans (myself counted) there are many notable scenes that will make you wish you brought a spare of knickers! Mainly of course, the Naked Rob scene..
-While trying to decide on an outfit, Dali stands naked on front of the mirror 'tucked in', holding a cigarette, mimicking a conversation to himself. It is hilarious but will also make your jaw drop on to your lap!
-Dali and Lorca take a rowboat out to sea, strip down to their briefs and dive in for a swim. Be prepared for moonlight smooches. (This is a really beautiful scene)

-Lorca romantically recites poetry to Dali and they decide 'No Limits'. Kissing and stripping that will make you hot under the collar. Lorca has him face down on the floor when Dali decides he cannot go through with it. Lucky for us Rob was already down to his boxers before they stopped :)
(I assume this is the scene Rob speaks about in GQ)
-When Dali returns from France he goes to see Lorca. Dali's ambiguous guard breaks down and their fierce kissing is interrupted by Magdalena who comes by to seduce Lorca. Dali, hiding in the next room, watches Lorca and Magdalena have sex while his own hand is down his pants. (This sounds perverted but it's actually incredibly emotional! Although I couldn't help but wonder if Rob's (*ahem) 'come' face is the same as Dali's..??)

When the end credits came up I was already sobbing. It felt like I had a 10tonne weight on my chest. It's a heart breaking story and I became completely absorbed in it. The last 10minutes of the movie were so affecting. I know that I wont be able to shake it off for days and that is a tribute to all the actors involved especially Rob.
One tiny little iffy point on Rob though was that he had to speak in English with a Spanish accent.. And I think sometimes he got a little confused trying to do it :/

The evening was finished off with a Q&A with director and cast. Unfortunately one girl who had obviously come to see the movie for the Robness, was not paying any attention to anything else and asked a very embarrassing question that even made Paul Morrison look quizzical! My advice would be, if you go to see it for Rob be willing to get involved in the entire movie. It’s worth it I promise you!

Side Note: Javier Beltram was fantastic. I have no doubt we will be seeing more of him in the future. And in person, he is HOT!

It will be on general release in Ireland in May. I hope you ALL get a chance to see it soon :D xxx

Rob Loved His Old BMW

Robert Pattinson’s love affair with his old ride

When 22-year-old actor Robert Pattinson emerged as a big star last year for playing an alluring vampire in “Twilight,” he still drove an old beat-up BMW.

But he has now has leased a new car and moved on from his 20 year-old convertible BMW, whose dashboard had reportedly once caught fire while Pattinson was driving.

Pattinson said the old junker was towed recently and that he had good reason for moving on to another ride, despite the appeal of showing he was still a regular guy who happens to be a movie star.

“I was getting a bit scared that I was going to die in it, and thinking is the street cred value worth dying for? And I kind of decided it wasn’t,” he told Reuters.

Still, the old car appears to continue to attract Pattinson, who in “Twilight” plays a vampire in a star-crossed love affair.

“I miss it already so I think I might go back to that one,” the actor said of his old BMW.

Pattinson knows a thing or two about cars. Growing up in Britain, his father imported luxury cars for a living. Who knows if dad would be interested in a certain 1989 BMW?

For now, Pattinson has no need for his old car. Instead of driving around Los Angeles, he is in Vancouver readying himself for production of “New Moon”, the next movie in the “Twilight” franchise which Pattinson said could be more somber than the first.

Rob Talks New Moon

From Rueters:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - For "Twilight" movie fans who are anxiously awaiting the sequel but haven't read the second book in the vampire series, "New Moon," the film's star Robert Pattinson offers this advice -- be ready for something different and perhaps a little strange.

Pattinson became an overnight sensation playing a lovestruck vampire in the smash hit that sucked $373.4 million from global box offices, and he is in Vancouver, Canada, this week starting production on the film version of "New Moon."

Before that sequel lands in theaters in November, Pattinson plays eccentric painter Salvador Dali in "Little Ashes," which opens in art houses May 8 and tells of a homosexual love affair between Dali and the poet Federico Garcia Lorca.

But for now his turn as immortal vampire Edward Cullen, who falls in love with high school girl Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) in "Twilight," has catapulted him to fame and his fans are dying for details on "New Moon."

Pattinson, for one, is cautious.

"The book of 'New Moon,' the majority of it is incredibly depressing," Pattinson told Reuters. "Obviously 'Twilight' was about finding first love and the difficulties of that, but 'New Moon' is really about loss and reconciliation, but the reconciliation isn't completely full." (Gozde: Even reading these are making me depressed. How am I going to handle the loss of Robward in New Moon? Huh?)

"It's a strange story to have for a market that, I guess, wants to see a love story," he said.

*The poster is fanmade

Nevertheless, the London-born Pattinson said everyone involved is working to make "New Moon" as big a success as "Twilight."

Pattinson's rising star has turned the former model into a favorite target of the paparazzi. Only last year, he was a relatively unknown actor whose big film credits were supporting roles in a pair of "Harry Potter" movies.

"It's turned into this crazy situation. I guess it has become a sort of phenomenon now which I really, really didn't expect," Pattinson said.

So, he often escapes to one of his first loves, music. He plays guitar and piano, and his song "Never Think" made it onto the "Twilight" soundtrack.

For now, he said there are no plans to put his music on "New Moon," but he has become "obsessed" with composing songs.

He said his acting hero is Oscar winner Jack Nicholson, and his ideal job would be something out of the spotlight.

"I like any job where you can just shut yourself away from everybody," he said.

"New Moon," from director Chris Weitz, is scheduled to open in theatres on November 20.

Canadian Mounties Protect Rob

When you have the biggest heartthrob of the year on your hands, you have to do everything in your power to protect him. Producers of New Moon, the second installment of the Twilight series, have called in some serious reinforcement to protect star Robert Pattinson from the barrage of female fans. They've hired Canadian Mounties! RadarOnline.com talks exclusively to the brave gentleman who is keeping the actor safe and sound.

While filming on the tiny scenic island of Tofino, on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, producers enlisted the help of local cops Constables Brendon Baillant and Brandon Builziuk to make sure filming went off without a hitch. Not their usual cup of tea, the constables encountered their fair share over overzealous teens during the assignment.

"It was an unusual mission but our remit was to keep the fans off the set," Constable Baillant told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "Everything went well on the first day but then a group of teenage girls got a little too close when the filming moved to the Long Beach area of the island."

"They were totally miffed with us when we told them that they could not get any closer, however, their spirits lifted when Kristin Stewart came over to pose for a few photographs with them," he recalled. "It was raining really hard the whole time but the producers loved that because it helped to make their scenes much more gloomy and atmospheric too. This is a beautiful part of the world but when it gets cold and wet even a vampire would get the chills."

The two Mounties' services helped to raise over $3000 of sporting equipment for two local schools. The money was donated by the film's producers.

If you are reading this and are planning to go and check out the set/Rob in Canada please be nice. He (and the rest of the crew) has always been so accommodating and nice to the fans that it is a shame he has to go in hiding now.

Fans that visited the sets in previous years said the actors come out at one point to sign autographs, take pictures if you wait patiently. I know he is irresistible but try and control yourselves :))

Rob's Skinny Jeans Makes Spring Fashion Trends

Star Pulse has Spring Fashion Treds and Rob's skinny jeans are mentioned. Umm, yeah, they look NICE :)

For the guys - it doesn't hurt to flip through a GQ once in a while and actually put effort into your wardrobe. Here are some looks to try this spring. We love you in jeans or even sweatpants but mix it up this season with slim fitting trousers or skinny jeans like Pete Wentz and Robert Pattinson.

Hair Duel? Pffffffffffffft

E! Has a picture of fresh out of the shower Rob (don't get excited, it's just wet hair:) and a picture of fully styled Taylor and they are asking whose hair is better? Puhleaassse! Like there is competition :)

From E! Online:

You probably knew that New Moon's wows-ville wolfboy Jacob, Taylor Lautner, lops off his locks for the Twilight sequel. Well, catch a first glance at his less-is-more look on the Vancouver set (above). Cue the wolf whistles! He's clearly a cutie.

But the shorn-mellon motif is obviously a trend, what with bat-tastic Rob Pattinson going the same short-and-sweet route recently. Hmmm, he also cleans up quite nicely.

Conundrum! Which of our yummy youngsters gets your blood pumping hotter? Take the poll below to let us know who how you feel?

You can vote here or not. It's not really important :))

Catherine H.: The music it just came out of him, this kind of RAW feeling-Updated with audio

Looks like CH is quite ROBsessed :))

From EW.com PopWatch :

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke was this week's Guest DJ on Santa Monica public radio station KCRW, and shared five songs that have inspired her. You can listen below (for a transcript, click here.) The five tracks she picked:

2. Robert Pattinson's "Let Me Sign:" Also used in the film, over Bella's near-death scene. "After we made the whole morphing crazy dream sequence we took that on my laptop back into another little studio in the valley, and then Rob literally sang and just played to the image on the screen," she said. "And I just watched Rob sing this song, maybe ten different times. Every time it sounded like something almost completely different, because it just came out of him, this kind of raw feeling and in a way, that was my favorite day that I've had in the last two years, just being there in the studio, and watching music just come out of somebody's body." Is it just me and anyone who's listened to the Twilight DVD commentary, or is Hardwicke a little too into Robert Pattinson? I know. Kettle, you're black.

Memoirs of Rob

You know how I told you I first thought Rob was writing his Memoirs when I got the alert for his "alleged" new movie Memoirs? Well I was not the only one. 4tnz! actually went ahead and wrote his memoirs:))

May 20, 1986: I was born. With a full head of hair. The doctor slapped me because he was jealous of how handsome I was already. (Gozde: Blame the headache I missed this! Thanks Ash! THAT really isn't his birthday :) It's May 13th! Maybe that's why he had a full head of hair? We all know how fast "Mr. Grizlly's" hair grows :)

August 8, 1998
: My sisters dressed me up like a girl again. And people hit on me more than they did my sisters.

June 2005: Went to the Harry Potter premiere. People rooting for me to beat Harry in the TriWizard tournament. Not the way it was supposed to happen. (Gozde: I am finally reading HP Goblet of Fire right now because of Rob's involvement and every time the book mentions Cedric I let out a squeee! Not sure if I can finish it knowing what's coming! Maybe my copy has Cedric winning the tournament? I hope so :)

February 2008: Ate my first Hot Pocket. OME.

November 2008
: And my life will never be the same again... hello, ladies? (Gozde: Hello Lover!)

source: 4tnz!

Training, Sweating, Smoking, Whatever!

So Ted C. continues yapping about the New Moon cast knowing they are hot and bring hits to the yard:

Seems like uncleanliness isn't the only vice going on up in Vancouver. We're told by one of the New Moon castmembers (for all of you who are bitching and whining that we make this crap up) that their bonding sesh's not only include homemade dinners, but also group chain smoking.

But guess what they're all so busy puffing away on?

"Just plain ol' cigarettes," said a Twilight hanger-on. "But, like, tons of them. I think they smoke more than they have sex, actually." (Gozde: They smoke more than they have sex? What an idiotic statement, of course they do! What are these people robots? Who has sex 10 times a day? I mean if they were having more sex than smokes now THAT would be news!Himmmmmmmmmmmm..... ))

Well, since everybody's so damn busy longing and mooning over each other, just like they do in the damn teeny franchise, sorta makes sense. Besides, I hear somebody's really hurting for the one they cast aside—only to want him (or her) back desperately now that filming's begun. More on that later in the week.
......

On other trashy gossip. Lainey Gossip says Rob hasn't started filming yet. He is only doing training. Cable, wires, underwater and the rest of the time he is in his hotel room chain smoking.

Gozde: Underwater? For the dream scene with the cliff diving? And do they allow smoking in hotels in Canada? Or does it not matter when you are a star?

Looks like he is isolating himself to become tortured Robward. Awww :)

He smokes and looks damn sexy doing so. He smells? Well we do love his hobolicious ways and I guess it comes with the territory :) We simply don't care Ted and to tell you the truth I believe you as much as I believe UFOs.

Analysis: Can Rob Become a Movie Star?

From The Hollywood Reporter:

If you thought Rob Pattinson looked brooding and serious in "Twilight," you ain't seen nothing yet.

The moussed-one is currently in talks to star in a movie called "Memoirs" for "Twilight" studio Summit. The picture deals with a young romantic relationship, but no campy vampire sequences here --these are relationships touched by tragedy (two, in fact, according to the logline). Jenny Lumet -- she of light comedic romp "Rachel Getting Married" -- is doing a rewrite on the script. It even has a serious _name._ This is a no-nonsense turn for Pattinson.

It's no surprise, after the runaway success and cacophonous squeals that came with "Twilight" that Summit would want to be in the Rob Pattinson business. The actor, now with Endeavor, overcame early blog-world skepticism to generate tons of fan enthusiasm and media in his role as the goodhearted, if opaque, teen vampire.

But what Pattinson-mania doesn't address is his post-"Twlight" drawing power -- a time that is coming sooner than you'd think, given that three of the four potential movies in the franchise will have come out by next summer. Sure, tons of teenage girls went to see him in "Twlight," but they went to see him in an adaptation of a book they've adored and re-read. Will they flock to him when he's not an unattainable, chaste member of the undead?

He'll have his work cut out for him, at least in a couple projects he's already shot. Viewers can see Pattinson in May in Regent Releasing's (they of foreign-language fare like "Departures") arthouse title "Little Ashes, in which Pattinson plays Salvador Dali, that ol' hunky pinup. And those who don't want to wait even that long can hit the fest circuit now, where a small indie called "How To Be" is currently making the rounds. The pic is a dramedy about a man with an existential crisis who calls upon a self-help guru. It won an honorable mention at Slamdance, to give you an idea.

You see, Pattinson, for all his media celebrity, is caught in that weird netherworld where he's on the cusp of major stardom but still has movies that came out of a less heady time in his career. That transitional period could be embarrassing for young actors (see under: Anne Hathaway in "Havoc") or it could just be surreal (literally; see under: Pattinson as a Spanish surrealist).

The bigger question is what happens to Pattinson after this wave, with the choices he makes now - does his career go commercial or critical, pinup or Oscar? And does he become a box-office draw in his own right?

A quick look at other teen hearthrobs who burst on the scene after starring in a massively popular movie shows there's a path to that goal, but not an easy one.

There was, of course, a post-Titanic Leo. He's the rare bird, the serious actor who also gets the girls swooning. But his and Pattinson's situations aren't really analogous. As cheesily romantic as "Titanic" was, it also won a gang of Academy Awards. And Leo previously had a host of serious acting credits like "Basketball Diaries." Pattinson is best known for playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter, the kind of role in which, as one Potter wiki has it, he "attend(ed) Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry...and was sorted into Hufflepuff."

There's Tobey Maguire, who rode "Spider-Man" to a reasonably successful non-superhero career in movies like "Seabiscuit." But Maguire's celebrity came when he was already well into his twenties, a different undertaking entirely.

There's Elijah Wood, who was part of "Lord of the Rings," the biggest moneymaking franchise among the under-25 set of the early 00's. Wood's career floundered after that -- he was part of hit movies like "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" but only as an ensemble player; the pictures he tried to carry were either good and not seen ("Green Street Hooligans") or bad and not seen ("Everything Is Illuminated"). Of course that's probably not a good comparison either -- his initial appeal was of the ensemble sort, and Wood was more cuddly than studly anyway.

The best analogue might be to Wood's "Rings" costar Orlando Bloom. Like Pattinson, Bloom was in his early twenties when he gained his Beatles-esque fame with teenage girls. And like Pattinson, he brought a British swagger to a well-known genre-leaning property that would go on to be quickly franchised over the next few years.

How did that go for Bloom? The actor was able to replicate his "Rings" success with "Pirates of the Carribean." But he needed Johnny Depp to do it. Without an A-list lead to play against, he hasn't done much. That's because the fact is, it's a lot easier to become a teen heartthrob than to stay one, or to turn it into a long-term career.

None of this even gets into the question of acting talent and range, which Pattinson has yet to display (though, granted, it's not like the Edward Cullen part gave him much chance).

Sought after by pretty much any studio and producer who wants to reach a young audience, Pattinson has the world at his feet. We'll see whether it becomes a world of meaty roles or just of bloody flesh.

New Movie Project : Memoirs?

According to Variety and Entertainment Weekly Rob is in talks to star in a new movie called Memoirs. When I first read the title I thought he was going to pen his memoirs and thought THAT should be interesting, a 22 year old writing his memoirs :) But no, it is supposed to be one of the best scripts making the rounds this year.

From Variety:

"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson is in talks to star in Summit Entertainment's romance-drama "Memoirs."

Allen Coulter, whose credits include "Hollywoodland," "The Sopranos" and "Damages," is in talks to direct "Memoirs."Nick Osborne and Trevor Engelson are producing through their Underground Films banner.

The script, originally penned by Will Fetters, centers on a pair of star-crossed lovers who meet and fall in love while struggling to deal with family tragedies that threaten their relationship. Jenny Lumet, who penned "Rachel Getting Married," is aboard to rewrite.

Rob is NOT Injured :)

Everything started with a National Inquirer story stating Rob was hurt on set. I made fun of it because of the wording and didn't believe the story. Then yesterday Sugarslam jumped on the same speculation wagon. Well now Rob's rep tells Radar Online that:

“This story is completely false,” Pattinson’s rep confirms, “Robert has not been injured in any way and no version of the story ever occurred.”

You can all take a deep breath. The boy is fine :))

Thanks to Rocio for keeping me updated on this story :)

The fans can tell the difference...

Cute mention of Rob and his signature at the end of the vid.
