Dane Dehaan talks Robert Pattinson and LIFE, fans seeing Rob as a sexual being, buying groceries & MORE!

Excerpt with Huffington Post:

What did you and Robert Pattinson do to create that bond James and Dennis shared?
It's an interesting bond because I don't really look at them as friends. I look at them as two artists who were both struggling in different ways, because they work in different ways, and they come across each other and they influence each other as artists. So while a lot of people are calling it a friendship movie, I don't really see the friendship part of it. It's not like Rob and I weren't friends, it's just I felt like that was the relationship we had probably because of the film. We hung out a couple of times outside of set, but other than that, it would be show up on set and really get to know each other through the process of making the movie as two artists who go about things in two different ways. And I think in that way, you don't have to "act" the relationship, you just allow it to happen on screen.

...

You've worked with some actors with huge fan bases, like Daniel Radcliffe and Rob Pattinson. Did you see all that come into play when you were on set with them? And are you fearful of that kind of fame yourself going forward?
I've worked with Shia LaBeouf too, and it manifests itself differently for all those guys. It's interesting because all those movies have a different target audience. People love Dan in this way where they want to hold him close, where with Rob, they just want to jump on him and make out with him -- there's this sexuality that goes along with Rob's fans where they're just sooo into him as a sexual being. And then Shia's fans are like, "You're the Transformer hero!" They all handle it different ways. Their lives are all more crazy than mine is. But am I scared of that happening?

Yeah, like for example, can you walk around without people noticing you?
Yeah, well, they don't not notice me but ...

It's not like you're attacked.
Right. I can go to the grocery store and people are like, "Hi, I really like you." And I'm like, "Thank you!" ... When we were filming "Life," I remember one day on set Rob was like, "I went to the grocery store for the first time in so long." And I was like, "OK?" I don't know. I don't really think about that stuff that much because it's sort of out of my control and I’m just really grateful that I get to do what I do.

Excerpt from The Wrap:

How was it starring opposite Robert Pattinson?
“It was good! He chooses to challenge himself and works with great filmmakers. I probably wouldn’t have had the opportunity to make this film if Rob didn’t want to do it as well.”

The article gave an edited version of the video. Here's the Rob excerpt:
Gadon, who appeared Friday on Global’s The Morning Show, also talked about co-starring with actors like Robert Pattinson (in Cosmopolis) and Jake Gyllenhaal (in the upcoming Enemy). “I have these surreal moments where I’m like, ‘I’m pregnant with Jake Gyllenhaal’s baby’ and ‘I’m telling Robert Pattinson that he smells of sex,’” she admitted. “But you’re acting so the focus is on the work.”

Katy Perry talks about Robert Pattinson, farts and being a friend to him with Elle UK

Katy Perry talks about Robert Pattinson, farts and being a friend to him with Elle UK

photo 5857a21a.jpg In the September issue of Elle UK, Katy Perry mentions Rob. Rob and Katy have been friends for years and it's sweet to read how she regards their relationship. Plus she's so funny with the farting. It's worth DR debate. ;)

I transcribed the Rob mentions  but the scans are all below if you'd like to read the interview in its entirety:
Like her pyrotechnic stage outfits, her humour is saucy and postcard style - all double entendres and faintly inappropriate fart jokes. "OK, so here's the proof there was never anything going on with me and Robert Pattinson. I fart in front of him. Properly fart. And I never, ever fart in front of a man I am dating. That's a rule." It's typical Katy - a disarming way to diffuse an awkward topic. "He's my bud, I'm like his big sister. We just hang out. The other day, I said: 'One of the things I'm most proud of is not sleeping with you, Robert.' And that's true."
Part of me thinks quiet, English Robert might be a loverly boyfriend for Katy. Yet it's clear, given her predilection for bad, big-mouthed boys, that he is absolutely not her type.
.....
She also has A-list girlfriend, with whom relations sometimes seem a little strained. Mortified at being painted as the other woman, she made sure Kristen Stewart knew the Robert Pattinson relationship rumors were just that. "I sent her a text message saying: 'I know you've seen all this stuff, but you know I would never disrespect you. I'm not that person. I'm just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of tits.'"

People talking about Robert Pattinson: Brandon Cronenberg, Max Irons, Ashley Tisdale and MORE!

People talking about Robert Pattinson: Brandon Cronenberg, Max Irons, Ashley Tisdale and MORE!

Folks have been talking and who have they been talking about???

 photo RobertPattinson.gif

I can relate. I talk about him everyday. ;) First up....

Brandon Cronenberg (son to David) was interviewed by Complex.com to discuss his film Antiviral and the interviewer brought up Robert Pattinson and the fame and fanaticism that surrounds him:
Last year, your sister Caitlyn was rumored to be dating Robert Pattinson—reports came out saying they were spotted together at a party for Pattinson's film directed by your dad, Cosmopolis. That must have brought a lot of Antiviral's themes especially close to home for you.
B. Cronenberg: [Laughs.] That was totally strange. And then reading how she was going to his apartment at these late hours of the night, and how she was doing all of this crazy stuff with him and breaking Kristen's [Stewart] heart…it was bizarre to witness that happening and then also witnessing it not happening while being around my sister.
There were photoshopped magazine covers of them together even though the pictures were taken years apart from each other. [Laughs.] There were people who thought it was true, and they were harassing my sister about it. I was just thinking, "Why?"
For people who love a guy like Robert Pattinson, they don't want to hear anything that could ruin whatever image they have of him, and how he lives in some larger-than-their-life way. If they find out that he's just sitting at home and watching TV right now, and not doing something glamorous, it'd crush them.
B. Cronenberg: Yeah, but in that case they didn't want it to be true because they have this idea of an amazing romance between him and Kristen Stewart. They want it to mirror their fictional romance, and the fact that my sister was causing problems and playing with his dog really outraged them. [Laughs.] And it was based on nothing.
And then when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart broke up for real, the comments sections of so many Tumblr pages were filled with truly disturbing messages about how devastated these fans were about it, as if they're parents just got divorced. It got really intense.
B. Cronenberg: It's crazy. That's the thing: It's actually insanity at some point. If you respect someone on a really high level and they happen to be famous, but your respect comes from appreciating their work, that's totally fine. There's a certain point where I think it's a legitimate form of insanity, and it's that point where you think you have a relationship with this person who's never met you. That's delusional, and it was interesting to explore that idea in how the fans in Antiviral will go so far as being injected with their favorite celebrity's diseases in order to be closer to them in some way.
Next, Max Irons mentioned Rob briefly to Inquirer.netI like how he's on top of Rob's films:
On being touted as the next Robert Pattinson or being compared to the “Twilight” actor, Max remarked, “There are two sides to every coin. He’s lost a lot of personal freedom. His life is under a microscope. But then again, he’s working on a great movie called ‘The Rover’ at the moment. He has worked with David Cronenberg (‘Cosmopolis’). He’s going to work with him again (‘Maps to the Stars’). That’s all you want as an actor—to keep working with good directors, scripts and actors. The success of ‘Twilight’ has afforded him that privilege. We should all be so lucky.”
The video portion of this segment of "People Talking About Rob" is sponsored by Josh. He was playing FMK with Ashley Tisdale on MTV's After Hours and Rob's name came up. CUTE. And you got that right, sista.

For folks that can't view: Josh said one round was the vampire edition and said Edward Cullen's name. Ashley talks about the other two options first and Josh comments that Rob's name is left out. She emphatically says, "I would marry Robert Pattinson....uh....Edward Cullen." It was adorable.

Our final mention was during This Is 40 promo and Leslie Mann mentioned Rob in a Q&A with Next Movie:
Do you get a say in who acts with you in Judd’s movies? Are you gonna team up with someone from "Twilight" as a love interest?
L. Mann: Yeah, I have this great idea for me and R. Patz! We're making out and... (laughing). No, everything is discussed with everyone who’s involved, but no, I’m not going to be having any love scenes with Robert Pattinson. Even though I think he’s really cute. That would be disgusting.
Uh-huh Leslie. Sure. Disgusting. Judd was probably reading this interview too, wasn't he? ;)
And that's a wrap on this edition of People Talking About Rob! How was it, Rob? Did you like what was said?

Damn right. They should have all just skipped the words, bowed down and said....

It's an honor to be compared to Robert Pattinson, LeatherPantsRob isn't done with us yet and MORE!

It's an honor to be compared to Robert Pattinson, LeatherPantsRob isn't done with us yet and MORE!

ETOnline spoke to Max Irons at the premiere for The Host and asked him about the Robert Pattinson comparisons. He was gracious and complimentary of Rob's upcoming work in his reply:
"I can probably name 10 actors who've been compared to Robert Pattinson," Irons said at the film's Hollywood premiere. "So it's an honor -- I think he's doing very well for himself, he's got some amazing projects coming out -- so it's a bit of an honor, but I think everyone's an individual. But it's nice to be likened to him."
Check out the full video interview to hear his remarks.

Caitlin Cronenberg recently tweeted about reaching a follower milestone and asked her followers what she should do to celebrate. RPAustralia had the best suggestion which she replied to with a tease laced with hope for Rob fans.

Lastly, there was a quick mention and compliment for Rob from an old director. From a Harry Potter edition for March 2013 Be The Red Carpet, Mike Newell (Goblet of Fire) spoke about Rob at the London Critics Award earlier this year:

Sweet, brilliant, good, clever....sounds just about right. ;)

Rob's Cosmopolis co-star, Sarah Gadon, is on the cover of Real Style magazine for Spring 2013. She mentions Rob and the scrutiny that came with working opposite him plus compliments him working with Werner Herzog (Queen of the Desert). I excerpted the portion regarding Rob and transcribed. Visit HERE if you're interested in the photoshoot and full interview.
If Sarah's critically acclaimed role as the wife of Fassbender's Carl Jung got the industry's attention, her second Cronenberg role as Robert Pattinson's wife in Cosmopolis cemented her rising star status. Not only did a second collaboration with Cronenberg mean she'd join the ranks of the director's inner circle along with the likes of Mortensen, Jeremy Irons and Vincent Cassel, she became the focus of the Twihard sets' curiosity when she got close to Pattinson on-screen.

"I kept my distance, knowing that there might be a blacklash," says Sarah of working opposite Pattinson whose Twilight fan-base is comparable to Beatle-mania or Bieber Fever. "Caitlin, David's daughter, received more of a backlash because she was tweeting a lot of photographs from set, and people were speculating about their relationship and proximity. I think too that I kept such a distance that they thought, 'We're not going to find anything with this one! We'll pin it all on that one!' It's terrible that that happens too. It's terrible for him because I take my work so seriously, obviously, and so does he. It's not like you would ever compromise the integrity of your work by doing something...at least I never would. I'm boring that way."

...
Although cozying up to Fassbender, Pattinson and Gyllenhaal would definitely be a perk to most people, their hearthrob statuses seem irrelevant to Sarah. In fact, she seems more excited for her co-stars to join her in the art-house realm than anything else. When I suggest that Pattinson's work with Cronenberg has helped change the path of his career from teen heartthrob to bonafide actor, Sarah agrees. "Yes," she says with a smile. "Now he's going to go work with Werner Herzog."
More mentions under the cut!

A little round-up of people talking about Rob.
First up, Sarah Gadon mentioned working with Rob in this months "In Style" magazine about how she "forgot" what a big star Rob is. I guess it's easily done where Rob is concerned ;-)

Here's the excerpt from the article where Rob is mentioned. Thanks so much to Darja for sending us the scans
Celebrity is a subject she is becoming more and more familiar with. Recounting a story about R-Pattz, she confesses, "There are those surreal moments when you think, 'Wow, I worked with that person!'"
The two appeared on a French talk show, and Sarah recalls, "It was nuts. There were so many fans. In my head I was thinking 'Oh yeah, I guess I forgot you're this massive movie star'."

VMan did a spread featuring Max Irons and Jake Abel and they were asked about becoming the next Robert Pattinson

Here are the excerpts with the Rob mentions:
With this films they both enter that small pool of actors that have a shot at becoming the next Pitt or Depp. But these days everyone is asking..... Can you become the next Robert Pattinson?

Max: “It is a very lazy comparison, because Twilight was a phenomenon unto itself. Pattinson was chased down the streets of Paris before the films even came out. And he is doing well for himself. He has about five films with acclaimed directors lined up.(Kate: Well done Max. You're paying attention!)

Jake: “A lot of people expect us to knock the Twilight cast. But Taylor Lautner is a really nice kid. Robert Pattinson, I couldn’t imagine the tremendous amount of pressure he was under — and he earned my respect when I saw him fight for certain projects. Water for Elephants is a great novel, the movie is what it was. That’s not his fault. That’s the risk; we’re the face of projects.” (Kate: It was exactly what you would expect from a great novel...... A great movie!)

Both name check highbrow directors and repeatedly mention how Twilight paved the way for Pattinson to work with David Cronenberg on "Cosmopolis"
