“R-Patz And Blair Waldorf Are Shacking Up?” asks a clueless Perez Hilton, who goes on to write, “Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester has apparently been shacking up with our beloved Robert Pattinson!”
Perez, who calls Meester a “sneaky little maneater,” claims “sources have spotted RPatz entering Meester’s NYC apartment, and we’re guessing he made that good girl go bad all night long, because our boo didn’t leave until the next morning!!”
Would these be the same “sources” who told him Fidel Castro is dead and Jaclyn Smith shot herself in the head?
According to a magical spy Perez cites, Pattinson “ducked out of the building and hopped into a waiting car. He apparently spent the night with Leighton, and didn’t want anyone to know… She talks with Rob almost daily.”
In a misguided cheap shot at Kristen Stewart, the bad blogger then says, “SURE KStew is going to be EXTRA SOUR when she reads this.”
Actually the only thing sour is Perez’s “reporting.”
A source close to Meester assures Gossip Cop this tale is untrue.

How about the time Pattinson brought his family to the taping of “Ellen”?
How about the time Pattinson spent with his clan around New Year’s in London?
How about the time Pattinson went to a concert at which his sister Lizzie performed?
How about the time Pattinson was with his two sisters, mom and uncle at “The View”?
How about the time Pattinson hung with his mom – which Gossip Cop witnessed – at the Remember Me premiere?
Perez quotes Pattinson’s aunt as saying, ”It looks like we’re being frozen out.”
Looks like that’s only the case for people who talk to tabs.

The weirdest thing about all of this: Just the day before Perez posted the Leighton stuff, Perez posted that Rob and Kristen were in Budapest together! So Perez knew that Rob was in Europe with Kristen! Very weird.

Apparently this "hook up" with Rob and Leighton happened when he was in NYC. I read Happyfeets LONG ass tweets...very interesting and amusing. Sounds like a bitter Nikki Reed. I'm sure it's not true...but what the heck do we all know...there have been many before Rob who have slept with every actress they could. As gorgeous as Rob is, I'm sure they throw themselves at him. What normal red blooded guy could resist? Elvis, who was on the same level of gorgeousness as Rob, slept with practically all his co-stars and then some. I'm NOT sayin this is true....but how much do we really know.....the media and the studios hide so much from us. And cover up so much crap.

I love, appreciate, obsess about Rob like everyone else here does, but I have to say the level of his fame has started to scare me a bit. When Ricky Gervais looked at his pic on the UK talk show and said something like he's the most famous man in the universe, it hit me. With the level of fame he has achieved,unfortunately, more people like PH are going to target him, there will be more haters, more insane rumors, vying for attention. This is sad, but the way it always seems to be. But what really frightens me, is how in the world is Rob, the shy, charming, unique, funny, unspoiled, natural guy we love, going to survive this tsunami of international fame and scrutiny without retreating, changing, or going into therapy, for that matter? I just cannot imagine his life, his thoughts and emotional response to it all. Thank God for his family and inner circle. If anyone can survive it unscathed, I hope it will be dear Rob.

I've had those very same thoughts about Rob since the day I first met and spoke with him. Comic Con 2008. The day his stardom was born. Watching him that day. Looking around that event that day. Something in my gut told me...
This could all go very wrong for this young man.
If this level of fame that he is enduring at the moment, if it were to continue throughout his career (and I do think it will taper off),
if it were to grow even, then he would be entering Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Diana Spencer territory. And if he isn't able to manage it a helluva lot better than they did, then that kind of fame is not survivable. You either lose your sanity. Or you die.
But either or...it'll get you.
And neither of those three saw their stardom born in the age of the internet. What Rob is enduring now, Elvis and Diana never knew...not to this degree. Michael? Some. But really in just the last 10 years of his life.
If Rob remains this famous or becomes more so and he does survive it all and goes on to have that career of longevity...
Imagine. From the age of 22 until the end of his life (and hopefully, it will be a long one), he is going to live that life with the 24/7 white noise of intrusion, speculation and judgement of the internet.

He couldn't take it. He couldn't bear the phoniness of show business. The marketing of artistic endeavor. So he ran away to a desert island, blew up to 400 lbs. eating Mallomars and lost his fucking mind.
Marlon Brando went mad and they even captured (exploited) it on film. Ever see Apocolypse Now? He wasn't acting in that. Go rent it and see what fame can do to singular beauty, talent and a pure heart. See what it can do to a soul.

However...
Robert Pattinson does have something that Marlon Brando, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Diana Spencer did not have.
He has a strong family. Being the baby and the only son, I would imagine that he has never known a single day of his life when he did not know that he was loved and wanted. And that's usually what turns out a good human being who's somehow able to handle whatever life throws at them.
And if anything is going to get him through all of this, it will be...that.
