i was just looking at a girl she is and actress speaking about when she met rob,he was 17 he just did harry potter she said she is team edward she said she has a crush on him but from the harry potter days and you know what else she said he was chain smoking

I wish people would report things properly. It was the actress Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica and 24 fame who said it and she didn't have a crush. She met him at a convention and was speaking to him.

It is so interesting - when New Moon came out there was such a love fest between the cast and Chris Weitz. There was obviously quite a bit of tension on the Eclipse set with David Slade. Rob has been so cautious in what he has said about David Slade in the press and always focuses on how David was open about wanting to 'change' everything. They are very neutral comments - although in one interview he did say how he would challenge David S constantly regarding what Edward as a character would or wouldn't do. In general Rob was so much more polished on this press junket - it was bound to happen. A lot of the same comments repackaged from interview to interview. He needed to do it to protect himself but I am a little sad that the hillarious and spontaneous Rob from 2 years ago is well and truly gone.
@Aussiegirl I couldn't agree more with your entire post! I've been going around saying the same things basically about how DS must have been somewhat of a jerk to Rob on the set of Eclipse, you know some directors are just like that...Rob being used to the love/support given to him by CH and CW previously must have been in shock to be treated "roughly" by DS!! Some were saying better "experience" this sort of treatment on the saga than on any other "worthy" film and that it's all a learning curve for an actor! I tend to agree a bit with that but I can't hide my resentment since honestly I didn't see much improvement in Eclipse than say Twilight for DS to be a pain in the ass as an excuse for said "improvement"...honestly and this has been my opinion from day one, out of the 3 films and out of the 3 experiences on set I think the whole cast agrees(well Rob and Kristen admittedly have at least) that Twilight was the best of them all! So CH FTW in my books!!
As for the last part of your post and Rob becoming PC, I've noticed that as well, it's a sad but inevitable fact that happens for someone with his fame, it would have sounded very unprofessional if he'd come out and said what a jerk DS actually was on set!!
I'm sure Rob is getting plenty of advice from everyone around him, and sadly the Rob that many of us adored for his spontaneity and blunt honesty, is as you said a thing of the past!

@Robsessive-HOTTINSON Can you please explain what do you mean by "did this"?
I personnally don't think that Rob has lost any of his spontaneity, he is just growing up and becoming a real actor, a professional. This unfortunately brings new responsibilities and a new way of handling his career. The guy we love is always there, just different!

yeah I understood actually he is saying he wants to make a different movie same thing but I dont know if its a bad thing or not if david's behave was bad its not about Rob and I dont even want to think my man changed so idk
DeDe - thanks - sorry have been off air for a while - RL got in the way. ITA about Catherine Hardwicke. She set the tone. Her movie deviated the most from the actual text, HOWEVER, cinematically captured the tone, the hopeless longing, the romance and the sexiness that drew us all to the book.
I only just saw Eclipse today and while I will probably see it a bunch more times because of my love for the books (and Rob as an actor) it struck me as paint by numbers pandering to the fans. I love Rob and Kristen as Edward/Bella on screen but it has only been Twilight that gave me that kick in the guts - OMG they are going to do it moment when they kissed on screen.
On the other point, you are also right that it is inevietable Rob would become more PC. He is still charming and goofy but he is a smart guy and he prepares himself thoroughly for these press junkets and only gives away exactly what he wants to.
He wants a long career and he would never be unprofessional and slag off David Slade (oh how I wish someone would dish some goss - I bet it is juicy) but don't expect to see them working together again anytime soon.
I don't think Rob and Slade got along that well and after seeing the movie several times I agree with Rob. Slade should have trusted Rob's interpretation of Edward.
DeDe and Aussiegirl. I agree with much of what you said, but I do still see the spontaneous Rob in many interviews. I loved his "Kristen is pregnant" on Oprah and his talk about no genitalia for the wolves on Jimmy Kimmel. He always has something entertaining to say. I love that about him. But, he is to smart to dis the director right before the film is released or while it is still in theaters. I don't like Slade's interpretation of Edward and I have said all along that Catherine Hardwick, as goofy as she might be, was the only one who really seemed to understand the depth of the love story. She also is the one who understood camera angles, make up, and how to make Rob look absolutely stunning in every shot.
@shari agree with you about cathrine she knows how to make him look more perfect like its possible a girl wiev for rob has a difference I can see it too
