From eOnline

Smell you, Robert Pattinson! (Kate: Given half a chance I would!)
E! News can exclusively reveal that the Twilight star has signed a mega-deal with Christian Dior.
Pattinson will star in a series of ad campaigns for the French fashion house's line of men's fragrances.

"Rob likes the brand," reports a source, who estimates the deal at being worth close to $12 million for three years. (Kate: Three years! YES)

Other celebs who have endorsed Dior fragrances include Jude Law, Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman, who appeared in a controversial topless ad last year.

R.Pattz is no stranger to Dior. He's hit the red carpet in several different Dior Homme looks, including a tuxedo at this year's Cannes Film Festival and jeans at the Teen Choice Awards.

AAWWWWWSSSSSOOOOOOOOMMMMMMME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  =D  =D  =D

Gozde said...

Hmmm, I am kind of shocked as he even said in an interview around Cosmopolis time he is not into endorsements. Maybe he saw the advantages since Kristen is doing this for Balenciaga. I would just like to sniff Rob au naturel, don't like cologne on my men - LOL! Sitting here listening to seriously howling wind watching the flooding going on around me. Crazy stuff. It's like a Hollywood movie plot here in NYC.

Gozde said...

and so  it begins.. just hope its a while before hes advertising silly stuff in japan just for the money.

Gozde said...

Is it a testament to my obsession that I'm really, really excited about this, even though I will probably never use the product he's trying to sell...
But then again, I should buy it for no reason other than Robert Pattinson!!!!

Gozde said...

I like fragance in  men and women... I have a fragance that I use everyday... and I have my special occasions one too... Makes me feel sophisticated....

Gozde said...

with all the good places that he is getting invited, i think he finally got a publicist.... I'm happy for him... because he can focus in small projects for a while...

Gozde said...

Well I said on the last thread that I saw this on Eonline but I refused to believe it until it's posted here, and well, here it is! LOL

I think this is cool and a good move on his part, but I still wish it was Gucci ;)

Gozde said...

Are you kidding? Christian Dior Is an exclusive brand. Why is he not allowed to do this? He is not the first celebrity to endorse a product? There were other famous faces(charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, and Jude law) attached to this particular brand in the pass. Were you critising them also?
That was insulting of you to say?

Gozde said...

this is because people take what rob says for face value and they don't realize that he is a brand and he needs to sell himself as it is part of his job.

Gozde said...

HA! :-D ...Why Not !

Gozde said...

im SO happy for him. i think this is a positive move for him professionally and for us as fans (3 year guarantee! lol). i always feel like he's gonna flounce all this fame business.

i know in the bounce Rob's turned his nose up to such things but people change and grow and there are positive reasons celebs do product deals. im happy he's securing a nice paycheck that will also allow him more freedom to do more of those indies he's lovin' that aren't exactly filling his wallet. im happy for him attacked to a classy brand. im happy that i love male fragrances. im happy he's controlling his image with this move. im just happy all around :) proud of his ambition and mature moves.

Gozde said...

Wow, can't wait to see these.
I could use a whiff of that cologne now. A giant tree fell on my garage and a branch came through the roof. Still have power, but the night is young!!!

Gozde said...

Effing hell!!! Funnily enough was talking with a work colleague only the other day about whether Rob would put his face to poss Gucci.....and now this news!!!  I said at the time although he said a while back it wasn't his thing at the the end of the day the money would no doubt come in handy for getting his own Indie films or own Production Company going - so I can't fault Rob's business sense in the least - if people want to pay him big bucks for advertising something he likes, then go with it. Plus more Rob for us to look at and enjoy in between his movie roles.

Gozde said...

Guess there's gonna be a new fragrance in my home soon :P
lol
Can't wait to go thru my InStyle Magazine and see the delicious smelling, and scrumptious LOOKING advertisement!
btw ... those things won't hurt me if I lick them will they???   LOL

Gozde said...

I'm gonna buy this one for myself.I'm weird I like men's cologne/perfume maybe because I have mostly male relatives.

Rob getting paid handsomely for this so he can make artistic films is well and good for me.

Gozde said...

As I am a good Robsessed girl, I feel the need to help Kate: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Loved, loved, loved it! Go, Rob! \o/

Gozde said...

Hmmm . . .  It would probably sell more if it were a woman's fragrance.   hehehehe

Gozde said...

On second thought. there are all those men out there who will try it to see if they can achieve the Robmania . . .

Gozde said...

Is he just a spokesman, or are they designing a fragrance just for him?   Don't know exactly how these endorsement deals work, but anything that gives us possibly TV commercials?  Billboards?  Nice blow-up posters???  -- oh, yeah, I can handle that.

Gozde said...

My lights flickering a bit and I am in Manhattan! Thought all the power lines are buried and the only danger is flooding! Wah! I know it could be worse.

Gozde said...

Jude Law and now... Rob Pattinson??!!!  Can this brand get any hotter?  My 2 favorite Brits!  Maybe the ad will feature Rob wearing nothing but the fragrance - is that too much to ask?

Gozde said...

Seriously.....ahhhhhhhhhhnh WONDERFUL!!!!

Gozde said...

Hope you keep safe.

Gozde said...

Keep safe.

Gozde said...

Hmm--so much for the pundits who said he would NEVER sell anything. :-) NO one knows this lad and what he will decide. I can understand that having an income will enable him to do more of what he wishes in projects, growth, learning, etc., and I wish him the best, with much success.

Gozde said...

AHHH!!! My husband doesn't wear any kind of fragrance, but he will now!!!! ...and if he doesn't want to, I'll just spray it on him when he isn't looking! haha

Gozde said...

Oh my :-/I am on the east coast as well ... Take Care ..keep safe.

Gozde said...

Stay safe. I still have power too, but con-ed just called my friends in the neighborhood next to mine to shut the power =/

Gozde said...

I think its great!!! When a celebrity is chosen to represent a product, it means that person is famous and successful enough to bring attention to or sell something. That product could be anything. This shows, that people are taken notice of our Rob, and they are seeing him as someone with influential means in hollywood!! With that said, we should be happy and excited for him.
Way to go Rob and Congratulations.

Gozde said...

I left the city and headed to Brooklyn. (not much better in terms of safety). I looked out my window toward FDR drive and saw the entire pathway covered and I was like "eff this" and left for my parents home.

Gozde said...

*NICE* I'm not ashamed to admit that I would like to smell Rob cologne or not...But eh y'all know I'm not the only one!lol:P

Gozde said...

I agree Solas :)

Gozde said...

Yay Go Rob!! You having everything going for you my man :D

Gozde said...

So does this mean Gucci are going to confiscate all those suits we love so much? Let's hope the people at Dior can tailor for him just as beautifully, they won't want him in the competition's stuff! I was wondering how Rob was going to keep himself in the public eye over the next year when he is going to be working so hard, I mean business is business and he has to keep relevant, this is the perfect solution, a nice classy ad campaign, with him looking stunning no doubt. D'ya think they will try to influence how he dresses in his down time? My advice would be: Dior, give him free stuff, he likes that, lol!

Gozde said...

Happy for you Rob and also for us because we will see the ads. Can't wait!

Gozde said...

Oh! This is just TOO sexy for words!!

Gozde said...

I would be sad to not see him in those Gucci suits; he MADE them. And I hope no one tries to influence how he dresses in his downtime.

Gozde said...

Same here! I'll have to go into ninja mode and spray my DH...maybe I'll just spray it in the house and run through it!! *fans self*

Gozde said...

that's great - now please don't do a brad pitt style ad - please! - i can just see rob laughing at that idea!

Gozde said...

That would take care of the problem of the Gucci suits, wouldn't it??!!!

Gozde said...

Haha! good idea! I hope it smells yummy!

Gozde said...

I've never known personally any men who wear/wore any fragrance, at least as far as I know, although I think we used to get my da 'old spice' for father's day as that was always advertised as the thing to give, but I think he just kept them stashed away and never used them. I have never been into perfumes (My mum used to call it toilet water, and of course I pictured people scooping the water out of toilets and bottling it!) and get overwhelmed being near women who wear it, so I don't get it. I figure there must be a subtle and beautiful way to wear it but I am not familiar with it, and certainly not as far as men go.

Gozde said...

Wow, didn't see this one coming.  I'm not immune to speculating why he's chosen a high-end designer fragrance to endorse, when much like his SO, he's probably never splashed cologne on himself since high school if then, I'm guessing.  I'm sure it's a well thought business decision and gives him the cash, or at least he was convinced it would be.

Gozde said...

I don't understand the idea of fragrances in an era where people shower every day, but I've only been in love with one man and his scent literally drew me in and made it very difficult for me to resist him and end the relationship. I wonder if another purpose of fragrance is to mask the pheromones.

Gozde said...

why do you do that???

Gozde said...

OMG!!!  Can't wait to see the pictures they will do for the ads!!!

Gozde said...

DiorRob = very sexy print ads AND lots of photo outtakes AND commercials that just sizzle with sex appeal AND new song videos based on Rob pics AND crazy sales for dior! Just when I think we have all the new news we can handle...Rob manages to surprise us all. Happy, naughty, yummy smelling Rob...

Gozde said...

Oh lord prepare to faint girls

Gozde said...

Well said, George clooney did the same, he does commercial overseas to supplement his income, so he can do movies that other wise would not be made.

Gozde said...

OMG!  *races off to buy some for DH*  Rob will be the model to end all models; he'll blow them out of the water.  Way to go Rob!  Can't wait to see the sales figures :)

Gozde said...

Dude and you think we are all hot n bothered now!!!

Gozde said...

Wow! Dior is very smart. They also signed up Jennifer Lawrence this month to be their new face. Love the fashion house.

Gozde said...

Ok, I still love this (I love ANYTHING to do with Rob) but I was just thinking...'Why?' I mean, I get why it would be a good move for Rob, but I'm wondering why Dior wants him (besides his obvious sexiness). I mean, we all LOVE Rob and will buy anything with his face on it, but aren't they trying to sell this to men? You'd think they'd put some action star in to promos....unless they are banking on women forcing their husbands to wear it (I know I'll force mine)

...Or Maybe, with his amazing list of upcoming movies, the industry is finally realizing that Rob isn't just an actor for chick flicks. Rob is about to bust onto the scene of leading men for movies both sexes will love just like Matt Damon. Ok, now that I've talked myself through this it makes perfect sense, so forget me asking 'why' LOL

Gozde said...

I know this is a weird question but have you ever had a chance to smell him? Lots of the fans took close up pics with him. I'd like to know what he really smells like. lol

Gozde said...

Dior signs up the BEST spokespeople. First Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman, and now Jennifer Lawrencea nd Robert Pattinson. Someone give them an award lol.

Gozde said...

Ahhhhh! I want it for my man. Where can I get it? Oh Kate, wishing to smell him is an understatement.

Gozde said...

Dior always signs up the hottest star at the moment. That's why they immediately signed up Rob and Jennifer Lawrence at the same time. Notice that?

Gozde said...

Nice deal it will afford him the opportunity to do the films he wants and still having a nice income.
Thank god he doesn't subscribe to the over the top HW lifestyle.

Gozde said...

BTW, this is for all the naysayers (from articles I read on other blogs) saying that he needs a PR team ASAP. I think Nick is doing a good job. What do you think?

Gozde said...

Really? That is great. I'm a huge Jen Lawrence fan.

Gozde said...

Weird that Rob and Kristen are all of a sudden getting into the high end fashion scene. I remember Rob saying he would never be seen at a fashion event and that he wasn't interested. I guess I was wrong and money can make people do anything. I still can't believe Kristen is selling a perfume. They both have enough money to last a lifetime lol so yeah.

Gozde said...

Not sure if you guys remember but he was wearing Dior in the pic used in the post :) in Cannes

Gozde said...

People mature and tastes change as well.

Gozde said...

Trust me, my husband will use it. He loves good perfumes, I mean expensive good perfumes. I have given him through our 11 years together the best out there and more than once Dior perfumes. He loved them. So I don't think he would care for the model if the perfume is good.

Gozde said...

Yeah mine too, I also live in manhattan.

Gozde said...

I guess mine is one out of that rule, because he wears them a lot.

Gozde said...

The Dior tux for the Cosmopolis showing in Cannes was OK, but just not cut for his shape as well as the Gucci ones are, they fit him like a glove and as you say he makes them. I was half joking about the dressing in his down time, he keeps work and private time completely separate and I can't see that changing now, to be honest.

Gozde said...

Yeah me too, I"ve been wearing Fahrenheit a men fragrance by Dior since I was 12.

Gozde said...

OMG, that squealing animation speaks for my reaction totally....SQUEE SQUEE. I know what my DH is getting.

Gozde said...

OMG I'm so happy! I also love Jennifer Lawrence and so happy to learn that they signed her on too!

Gozde said...

I know what I, oh I mean the hubby, is getting for Christmas!

Gozde said...

Be warned, Rob, there will be lots of women leaning towards you and trying to sniff you at the premieres in a couple of weeks! Um, even more than usual, that is! (Don't worry Dean, we're harmless - mostly!)

Gozde said...

I really hope he doesn't abandon Gucci. They are too good together. I really need guidance here: can he still wear Gucci?

Gozde said...

I hope it works. I have considered similar; just yesterday i was thinking that with people whining about the 'drought' ahead they would push the pappz into hunting him down even more. But if he is the 'face' of something, especially something classy, there will be good photos, enough photos, so perhaps people will not whine and will not search for nor post pappz pics.

Gozde said...

Real men love Rob too. GQ seems to think he is damn manly and full of style. Despite Rob's self deprecating comments, he knows what he likes, wants, thinks and doesn't alter that. To me, he actually exudes confidence in that he recognizes who he is and works with it. He does not apologize for it, because if he did, he would try to alter his behavior. To me that kind of faith in yourself is uber-masculine. I couldn't put this into the exact words I am looking for but he has a different kind of masculinity. That's what appeals to me so much about him.

Gozde said...

Amen to ALL of that..

Gozde said...

Hey Tink are you going to Tent city this year? Hope to see you there. Summit increased the campers to 2500 now.

Gozde said...

Hell to the mother-effing YES!!!!!!!

Gozde said...

It is ironic that they are both the face of upscale fragrances but they are too gorgeous not to be advertising products!

Gozde said...

This means I'm gonna see him more? YEAH!!!!

And I don't have to think about what to get for DH's birthday, Christmas, anniversary.... DOUBLE YEAH!!!!!

Gozde said...

You have a way with works...

 Love that giff too... LOL.

Gozde said...

I don't think so. After all, Kristen is signed onto Balenciaga (sp?) and still wears other designer's clothes.

Gozde said...

He did it....

Gozde said...

Do what?  Apparently my comment was misplaced...apologies.  Live and learn.

Gozde said...

I agree... I say never say never.  When house of Dior and  Balenciaga(sp) comes calling, why would anyone want to say no eh?

Gozde said...

We'll just buy Dior for our husbands/significant others!

Gozde said...

You originally wrote 'testing' and you've done that before! Are you testing to see whether Disgust throws you to the top or not?

Gozde said...

But does Balenciaga have clothes? I thought it was perfume.

Gozde said...

I used to the smell of Drakaar Noir on men. Fragrance can be sexy.

Gozde said...

no, i just feed sad that he's sold himself in this way.  its not like he needs the money or publicity after all.
Still, on the plus side there'll be loads of beautiful pictures and hopefully an ad better than that brad pit one.

Gozde said...

Hmm- I'm just not familiar with it. In my world, I don't think men wear fragrance. I do not know if it is even permitted.

Gozde said...

Good for Rob! Prestige and money for him and visual goodies for us....that is, high-end, impeccably shot pictures.

Problem for me is finding the photos, not being a customer of fashion magazines. And would they publish or make available outtakes, without tagging? Aw, I'm complaining already?? I just remember that fantastic photo of him inside Interview magazine (coincidentally, Kristen was on the cover).

Way to go, Rob!! Yeah, money so that you'll be free to pursue your passion to work with great directors and actors just because you want to. It's not selling out. It is smart. I wonder how often before this he's been asked? And with the recent Gucci event, what's with that house?

Gozde said...

Yes, Balenciaga also does clothes and perfume. Kristen has worn quite a few at events.

Gozde said...

This means we get to see more of Rob.  YAY!!! The more we get to see of him the better.  ;-)

Gozde said...

I think men want to have or use something that Robert Pattinson uses precisely because women in the world love him.He won all searches in Europe where married women were asked, "For whom they would trade their husbands?" and I also saw a report that stated that the haircut was the most searched him and also many men wanted to do surgery to have his jaw.So yes men will want to wear what Rob uses because it is a hit with women worldwide. And new projects are also more adult and facing the male audience.Smart Dior. Just missing the Gucci sign him for the clothes.

Gozde said...

Great point, and with the film drought coming it will give Rob's fans something to look forward to.

Gozde said...

Oh Rob this such a smart move on your part for money and so you can still do your little
indie movies that you love so much!!! Plus the added bonus we all get from this....Mag. Adds
and maybe Commercials....Giant Poster adds in Malls and stores and I swear to god if I see a
billboard while in a car omg I will just die!!!  I will be first in line to buy it for my DH and it he
does not wear....well I will have to smell it everyday!!!!!  I always thought he should do this....
Rob can sell anything!!!  I am so Happy for you Rob and with all the bonuses we get out it!!!!

Gozde said...

yes. :-) and although I am not sure (I know NOTHING of the world of fashion and fragrance) I think perhaps Dior will not advertise in the rags that send people out to hunt him, so it might give people who want to see Rob in photos a better more legit venue.

Gozde said...

He is better off speaking for himself. His fans know him, accept him, what ever he says. If he got a publicist, it would be like a wall between him and his fans and that would be off-putting.

Gozde said...

Does anyone know if we are lucky enough to buy it for Christmas this year?????

Gozde said...

Now I may have turned to wine in order for me to function through Sandy that is currently on the rampage in my state of NJ, but I think this may be the best news I've had in days! DH is getting the cologne for Christmas but I'm keeping the box! Go Rob!

Gozde said...

Not all men want to be action men or muscle men. Some men want to be elegant, intelligent, well read, musical gentlemen, and Rob can be the perfect role model. LOVE. HIM.

Gozde said...

I think his team is doing a GREAT job (just look at all he has lined up) and just today as I was looking for info about his new film signup "Hold On To Me", there were comments there that address your reference to "naysayers" that brought tears to my eyes from the nastiness and vitriol about our wonderful, kind Rob -- I cannot understand that kind of hate towards a person who is so obviously kind and talented -- what a terrible way to go through life, hating others -- we can only pity their poor souls and marvel at Rob's strength to weather these false and hurtful comments -- I like to think we who love him tip the scales so much toward the positive side that they are all left to wallow in their own misery -- in Rob's case, the truth of his loving soul is so clear to see, and so often reinforced by those who have met him and see firsthand what a good human being he is, not to mention all his other singularly shining attributes and talents -- I think, in Rob's case, just going on and being himself is the ultimate proof of their mendacity.

Gozde said...

You girls do not know how much I wanted to stand on my desk at work this evening and scream YES! YES! YES! over and over again.  I am giddy with excitement!  Cannot wait to see the print ads, and I hope lots and lots of TV commercials, and those ginormous posters that we can see from the freeway which would most likely cause traffic accidents.  Great news!

Gozde said...

I can see it now..........as soon as the tv commerical hit the airways or ads come out, all of us fans will drop whatever the fuck we're doing and become hypnotized by Mr. Robert Pattinson.  We'll just completely zone out. Can't wait to see the ads!!!!

Gozde said...

I maybe wrong but I think Gucci is also owned by Selma Hayek's husband who I think also owned Dior and Balenciaga so we may not lose Gucci Rob.
Hope I'm right.

Gozde said...

OK--so maybe that's a good sign, and that Rob would still wear Gucci suits. :-) A few weeks ago I had posted that I wished he would be the face for Gucci, that their suits seemed like they were not only designed and made especially for him, but also that they were waiting their whole existence to be worn and shown to the world only by him. I don't think anyone could do justice to those suits like ROb could, and I thought if he did, it would be a way for him to earn money and support a family some day (G-d willing) without the demands of film acting (which I do not think is conducive to lasting relationships, marriages, and raising a family). SO I am glad that he has taken a non-film option (even if it isn't Gucci, but kind of humourously ironic considering that whole 'smelly' stupidity at the beginning of Twilight appearances!) and hope that he can do more of what he wishes with whatever he earns from this.

Gozde said...

I think its great that he is finally going to get paid for promoting a product. I have always been surprised that COKE or PEPSI have not offered him a deal. He always seen drinking one on set.  I'd love to see him do a funny diet soda commercial like Sophia Vergara. It would be hysterical if they used Betty White in it with him.  I know I always feel hot and thirsty after seeing him sip his drink. LOL  Also, I like what another person stated about George Clooney's coffee commercials allowing him to do indie films. If having Rob's beautiful face selling a fragrance allows him to keep working on films he loves, better for us.

Gozde said...

Wow, I didn't see this one comming! But it's good, cause that means more pics/adds/appearances of our beautiful Rob..

Gozde said...

I don't think he needs a PR team. And I think Nick is great.

Gozde said...

Omg, omg, omg. The face of Dior, woooooooow, just wow. I will definately die of hapiness seeing his gorgeous face.

Gozde said...

I think this is heavenly -- when Rob made the covers of "GQ", "Vanity Fair" and "Details", I will admit I subscribed to them in the hopes of getting future covers of him, and happily I found them interesting to READ (HaHa, you say!) (you know, the gentlemen's viewpoint, don't knock it, VERY helpful!) -- also subscribe to the N.Y.Times and there are always Dior ads there especially in the Sunday editions magazines which are high quality glossies, very framable! So this news means there will be visions of Sugar Rob dancing in my head a lot more often, so I say this is good news indeed! More Rob, more pleasure, yes, ladies?

Gozde said...

I would really like Dior to feel the power of Rob's fan base. I just went to the Dior web site and clicked on contact and sent them an email. It takes only a couple of minutes. Do it for  Rob!!!

Gozde said...

Lets agree to disagree on the sold out part, because the convincing arguments that I have are too wordy:). .... However you are absolutely correct when you say we will see will loads of beautiful pics to lust over for robs Dior campaign!!!!!!! Can't wait.
P.s if its anything like Brads, i swear I'm gonna disown him:) lol

Gozde said...

I wonder if there would be a conflict being the face of Dior - fragrance and then being the Gucci suit man. I wish he could do both but it seems like something of a conflict of interest.

Gozde said...

I said this so many times, but they are a brand. They need to sell themselves as part of their job. The problem with some fans is that they they take everything both of these actors say for face value and then they are disappointed when it turns out they are just like everyone else in hollywood. Rob is an actor and something like this is part of his job description, he plays the game just like everyone else. It does't make me like him any less, but hopefully it allows people to see isn't above anything either.

Either way, this is great news for him and Dior is a fashion house that is lucky to have him and he them

Gozde said...

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! There will be giant ads with Rob's face everywhere, yes? Oh. My. God.

Gozde said...

I know this sounds really weird, but it just got really serious here in NY and if anyone needs a place to evacuate too. I still have power and my street isn't flooded. I won't even hesitate to provide anyone shelter.

Gozde said...

Rob also wore a Balenciaga T-shirt in one of his last photo shoot, I think.

Gozde said...

I'm literally on the other side of the world in Hobart, but please know that everyone is thinking of all of you and wishing you the best.

Gozde said...

"UBER-MASCULINE" -- WHOA! -- ME LIKEY YOUR PHRASEOLOGY! "UBER" DOES THE TRICK, LOOK NO FURTHER FOR A BETTER WORD, YOU NAILED IT!!

Gozde said...

Guess what my husband and son are getting for Christmas?..... Yes, you got it, Dior baby, Dior!!!!!

Gozde said...

YES!

Gozde said...

I know, right? I'm beside myself with joy, and I can see I am in good company -- ladies can we all say, in unison, "Rob is THE MAN!!"? -- of the hour, of the week, of the year, of the decade, of the century!!!!!!!!

Gozde said...

Lolli...I went and looked at Dior website to send an email (anything for Rob, I tell you) and wanted to let you know that Dior is on Facebook. That may also be a way for us to make the power of his fan base felt.

Gozde said...

DIOR? -- they will be SPECTACULAR! -- we will all be holding on for dear life!!!

Gozde said...

Yeah, I have power still even though it flickers every few minutes. I hope everyone else on the east coast is safe. Especially those of you in NY and NJ. My thoughts are with you. :)

I'm happy he is doing this for selfish reasons of course. I would live to see him in some sexy ads and photo ops. I would guess a brand like this hires a man like Rob because it attracts women and women are the ones who buy their men fragrances. They know we all want our men to smell like Rob!!!!!

Gozde said...

I sent an email to Dior to let them know they picked the Perfect Man for this!!!

Gozde said...

on the sephora website there are 7 dior fragrances for men, does anyone know if he will be in an ad for one that
already exists or will this ad be for a brand new fragrance ???

india

Gozde said...

Haven't you ever changed your mind?!

Gozde said...

Guys,
What happen to Gucci? I was expecting Gucci not Dior. Can he do them both should Gucci ask him to model their clothes. That would be huge; guessing it depends on what is in his contract. If any of our Robsessed sisters could answer that would be appreciated. Damn Gucci let Dior beat them to the offer. Sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gozde said...

This is a kind of strange endorsement for him I think. Rob is a guy known for dressing down, not the type of guy who wears perfume. He cleans up real nice for events, but he's never seemed like a perfume type of guy. I hope he doesn't end up doing a Brad Pitt type of ad, hopefully we'll just get a lot of print ads for this. And I'm sure they'll be some extra events he'll turn up at just because of the endorsement.

Gozde said...

I don't think they are like everyone else in Hollywood, I think they are very different.  But when it comes to decisions about branding and decisions about selling their "celebrity" image, I think they both have caved into the reality of selling and controlling their image, but not necessarily selling themselves out.  For every celebrity whose chosen to do this, I've never seen a complaint.  This is a business as usual decision, and the fact that both of them were asked, speaks volumes about how visible/popular and the interest in seeing their images attached to a high-end designer product.

The French really understand scent.  I swear the most incredible liquid shower gel/shampoo I ever sniffed was that provided by a nice hotel in Paris.  Then standing in the crowded Metro train more than once I was close to a man who was wearing this same scent.  I felt my whole body drifting toward it.  No kidding.  Just the thought of Rob with something like that scent shakes the ground I walk on . . .

A while ago some regs here (and I think most have gone or are lurking) got that chance.  They were in the first row of a fan line and actually were asked here...and the reply:  He smelled great, described as some musk like shower gel.  I would welcome their first hand experience coming on here again.

That is extremely kind and generous of you Stephanie!

Gozde said...

Phew, glad to know that I wasn't out of line and you understand what I was saying below.  Disgus has thrown me to the top on a regular basis and may still do so with this.  That's why I test first and then quickly edit.

Gozde said...

Best Choice !!!!!!!

Gozde said...

I think its wonderful. Rob needs this endorsement.

YOU SAID: "Rob is the guy known for dressing down, not the type of guy who wears perfume."

AND THIS IS WHY HE NEEDS THIS.  HE'S ALSO KNOWN FOR BEING THE SMELLY, DIRTY GUY. SO THIS MIGHT CHANGE THAT. WHO WANTS A REPUTATION LIKE THAT ALL AROUND HOLLYWOOD? SO I THINK ITS A GREAT IDEA

Gozde said...

If Dior does a commercial with Rob singing and playing his guitar...or playing the piano, I might just spontaneously combust! And then go out and buy more bottles...I'll be a DiorHoarder.....for DiorRob....

Omg yessss jen and rob togedher, both are good actors and beautiful!!!!

Gozde said...

Sales will go through the roof!  If Rob's presence hasn't been felt through his films and music, it sure will now.  Woo hoo!

Gozde said...

The power of Rob.....what a lovely gesture.  Thoughts and prayers to everyone concerned xxxx

Gozde said...

Agree with your take. It's a way to keep oneself in the public eye without additional publicity when off doing those numerous indie projects, and he's no stranger to photo shoots.  I also hope it means making one of those projects more possible... ;-)

Gozde said...

I think that was more of the stale smell of cigs. and not washing his clothes. He's said many times in the beinging he didn't know how to use a washing machine.LOL  But Rob is who he is and his fans love him regardless. I doubt doing an add campagin will change who is.

Gozde said...

It's easy to say never when you are young.  Things change and I think it's great he' choosing so well.  He's maturing and choosing wisely.  Just look at his film choices.

Gozde said...

Same here, he and Gucci were made for each other.

Gozde said...

and the best part is he still remains a gentleman....it doesn't go to his head.

Gozde said...

Old Spice and English Leather.  The only artificial cologne/scent on a man I have any memories and sentimental attachment to.  My father for the first and my college boyfriend for the second.  To this day, I've never smelled a man with cologne on that doesn't make me gag. Fortunately, where I live, few seem to wear any at all or it's very sparing.

Gozde said...

WoooAAAAHHHHHH!!! dioROB! "I DON'T LIKE SAYING THIS... YOU SMELL OF SEX.. ;o I SMELL SEX ALL OVER YOU.." ;p LOLz

Gozde said...

Got it-- I didn't think you were out of line--just couldn't understand at first why I was getting messages that said, testing! But I put on my thinking cap and figured it out. ;-)

Gozde said...

I saw this on Twitter and I thought it was a mistake.  I also thought it would be Gucci.  *Sigh*  It would be heavenly if he could do both!

Gozde said...

Agree.  As much as Rob likes us to think he's not smart, I think he is very smart and savvy.  And I think he would run things past his folks and Nick.  He's done pretty well so far and he's only 26.

Gozde said...

I hope its just print ads to, some of those fragrance commericals are down right imbarrasing. The Brad Pitt one for Chanel was weird, if it had been me, I would have refused to do it until someone wrote better lines. Its easy to come off looking silly and Rob doesn't need that.

Gozde said...

Yep. He is smart, savvy, learns quickly. He is a lad of many layers, and I don't mean just his clothes.

Gozde said...

Seeing him strut his stuff on the few red carpets, his personality, humbleness, love of women...the list goes on.  I'd say there are many men out there who would LOVE to be like Rob Pattinson.  I always think men with too many muscles worry too much about themselves whereas Rob, well enough said!  Just perfect me thinks :)

Gozde said...

Thank you.  Your agreement means much to me.

Gozde said...

Bless you Stephanie..

Gozde said...

Part of me is afraid that this is too good to be true, and that it's just a rumor.  I can't imagine E! reporting it if it wasn't true, though.  I'm so excited! I can hardly wait to see his gorgeous face in the ads!

Gozde said...

I think this is a wise career choice for him.  Most of the world still thinks of him as "that sparkly vampire", Edward Cullen. This will showcase Rob as more mature, polished and sophisticated.  I think it will definitely give him the type of exposure that will broaden his appeal.

Gozde said...

Thanks! and thanks for your positivity!

Gozde said...

Someone else here mentioned that there were several polls conducted in Europe from women on who they'd trade their husband for. Rob was number 1 in many of them.  If I were a man and knew my wife felt that way, I think I'd do whatever it takes to make myself more attractive to her, especially if it involves becoming more like Rob.

Gozde said...

All I ask is that it smell like Rob and only Rob.

Gozde said...

but now  he will know that it's not because of him, but the fragrance :)

Gozde said...

Thanks, Nell_C!!

Gozde said...

i think jen lawrence was great in"winter's bone" and so young

Gozde said...

Great suggestion!  I just sent one too!

Gozde said...

Thanks--still safe here, but saw on the news that the generator back-ups for NYU hospital failed and there is a caravan of ambulances taking patients to other hospitals. I couldn't get through to my sister in Nassau County and found out on the news that electricity is out in a lot of the county, plus all roads in Nassau County are closed! And, sadly, there have been deaths from fallen trees. So amazing we can develop new 'toys' every year and multiple ways to destroy the world, yet still have not managed to protect everyone, even from storms.

Gozde said...

i think he will be asked at some of the (million) upcoming interviews. it's interesting what he will say

Gozde said...

kristen is the face of balenciaga, but she is allowed to wear things by other brands. maybe rob will be too.depends on the contract

Gozde said...

It could be that when he dresses up, he wears this scent. As for brands, I never really got it until I saw Rob in Gucci. My whole life, I've resisted and deliberately would avoid name brands, never noticing anything special about them except the price, and never having a desire to impress anyone, especially with my use of a brand. Plus, I like designing my own stuff. So I always found it ridiculous when people would get excited about having a certain company's name on their clothing, their shoes, their pocketbooks, etc. And although it could be that because in my world the suits men wear are suits or Prince ALbert Coats, or caftans or other throwbacks to the past, that I never noticed men's suits as art, as a thing of beauty, I do see now, after seeing Rob in the Gucci suits, that perhaps a name COULD mean something, quality, beauty. I don't know if it is so for every designer or 'House' of fashion, but I have learned and changed my POV. And so it may be so for the scent as well: perhaps certain companies really do make scents that are beautiful, that are a quality worth having.

Gozde said...

that money may allow him do a lot of projects which are very hard to do. also he said he wants to go into producing one day, will be hard with the money indie filmd bring

Gozde said...

Hey, I completely agree with everyone who replied to my comment, in fact my husband is what some call a 'guys guy' who loves all things sports and would rather be stabbed than watch a soap opera, but he loves Robert Pattinson - he's one of his favorite young actors. He has seen all the Twilight movies with me and even wanted to see Cosmopolis more than I did, but sadly, he's not the norm. Most guys won't admit to liking an actor like Rob simply because he's a 'pretty boy' or 'teen pin up' (not my words, just what I've heard being said about him) Leo was the same way until he started teaming up with Hanks and Scorsessi(sp?). Which was my original point. Over the next couple years Rob is doubtlessly going to be busting down all those labels just as Leo did. I'm so excited to watch it all happen.

Gozde said...

I'm real excited for Robert. It's way different when a cologne or perfume is named after a celebrity. I always found that cheesy and cheap. Dior on the other hand is very artistic. It's more about being the model that sells their product. Their commercials are very different and like I said artistic. I don't think their commercials are average at all. Oh and Yes 3 years. Something must have drawn Robert to say yes. My guess is it's more about being the actor in their short films than actually endorsing the product. Another thing is its a good move to keep his face in the public. He's going to be in a lot of indie films that need promotion. That's a major reason why you go to Hollywood events. In some part your kissing butt to get people to endorse your films. It's about staying fresh. I'm real excited.

Gozde said...

Laurfi, stay safe, with Sandy you will not need CGI.  I hope there was enough warning to keep all in Sandy's path safe.

Gozde said...

I love you ladies, this is about rob, Dior! way to go rob and ladies, we see nothing else but rob,and that perfect/unperfect evil weather! and another 6.7 earth quake in Canada. we need o fall down on our face and pray.

Gozde said...

I will make it simple, he is doing small indie projects that barely pay anything, plus I have a feeling he wants to have his own production company to buy books and scripts, and to write his own screenplays to film and produce and that cost money.  If he was Harrison Ford or Tom Cruise who use to bang out blockbusters all the time and barely do indies then possibly it is a sellout.  I don't see Rob as a sell out but a wise man.

Gozde said...

Didn't Rob say at one time that he would never sell himself like that? Maybe he thought if Brad Pitt could do it, he could. I have no problem with seeing Rob's beautiful face for this brand. Just remember that interview long ago where he said he would never do any kind of advertising with products.

Gozde said...

Luv your comment Tink, spot on.

Gozde said...

Brad's commercial was the butt of a lot of late night talk shows, a dog commercial imitating the actor and several more things I read about the commercial.  I just wonder if Rob decided to do this because Kristen does her perfume.

Gozde said...

Well said bwen.  Simple and right to the point.

Gozde said...

Hmm.. Well, s'pose I'm not overly surprised. Business is bizness. And if ya got model-looks, it's a paycheck. Guess some days I figured he wouldn't need that route. But as has been said, them indies won't pay for themselves.. And I can certainly appreciate that aspect.
Besides, it's not his fault brand-names give me the heebie-jeebies. ;-)

Gozde said...

I just finished moving into a new house, took a shower, having a seven and seven and went on this magnificent site only to be greeted by these words about Rob and Dior.   I am thrilled for him and us as fans to witness this adorable, humble, and handsome guy promoting a fragrance that will blow us away when he is on television and computer screens, print ads and billboards all across the globe, I know I will be breathlessly watching.  Here is to Rob and to his success he so richly deserves.

Gozde said...

Perhaps do the same at Gucci website?

Gozde said...

Just wanted to say one more thing. It's about putting your face out there. If your not prominent than people won't go watch your films. He'd also be stupid to say no. It's a company that is very prestige and only chooses the big star of the moment. If Robert wanted to be snooty he would have drawn those cards a long time ago. He's still the same Rob. Everybody grows up but we all still are kids at heart. I think Robs the same way. He plays his fashion cards and than wears whatever he wants. People forget that if your face isn't in a magazine or on tv people move on. Think about how excited the indie films he's signed up for are about this new deal.

Gozde said...

Robert Pattinson has never being dirty or smelly. How dare you say that about him.

Gozde said...

she says he had that image and  she is actually right. I even remember a journalist(?) asking chaske spencer from twilight if he really reeked on set

Gozde said...

And the Dior and Balenciaga must do good job to schedule the two together.... I bet who urged him... And I remember his report he wouldn't sell himself this way. But the money is money? He said he has enough of that. Maybe not? It's another little disappoint in him.

Gozde said...

I agree....Gucci and Rob are just made for each other!!

Gozde said...

So happy For Rob , Rob and Dior is such a classy combination . Am so excited to see him associated with this brand !! I think Rob has a good business brain , he didnt do the Burberry deal , he knew he could do better .

Gozde said...

WHAT? I'm confused?! I'm sure I've watched an interview where he said he didn't get why people did these endorsements???? Didnt he say it would only be money people would do it for.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure I'll melt when I see the ads but I'm trying to work out what made him change his mind. He seemed pretty sure of his oppinion.
Weird.

Gozde said...

LAWD! yeah i'll be there :)

Gozde said...

If he can get some extra cash 4 being the face of a Great brand like Dior, GOOD for him.
I am sooo happy for him. I thought he was gonna be the face for Gucci but Dior beat them :D
am sooo gonna buy his fragrance :D

Gozde said...

I know why Rod chose Christian Dior over Gucci...
because the pronunciation of "Christian" to be alike "Kristen", he can say to the world out loud: "I love Kristen... oh sorry... it's Christian... Dior"
LOL

Gozde said...

I'm surprised by this but glad at the same time. The more Rob we can get the better. I'm sure he has very good reasons, maybe this money will go towards projects he wants to finance (like Clooney and his coffee commercials). Dior being very high-class and known for using A-listers to represent, this really says to the world that Rob has 'made it'  big time. Charlize Theron recently did a beautiful ad with holograms of Princess Grace and Marilyn Monroe...OMG! what if they do something similar with Rob and Cary Grant or James Dean or even  Elvis!...Where's my meds?
As far as Gucci and other designers, he sells their clothes every time he wears them. You go Rob! Come on outta that shell and make us some music! You know we are dying for it. Don't fight it, Baby. Just go ahead and be the SuperStar you were born to be. We know it won't change the wonderful person that you are. Just you fulfilling your destiny.<3

Gozde said...

Yay why not,he is doing a George Clooney, well they won't find a more handsome face anyhoo & now he really is in the A league good luck ROB,at
least we get to see you more,I am happy.

Gozde said...

He is older good for his career, with the money he gets he can do small movies that has more meaning for him & artisticly ,that just my
thinking anyway.
