Did you know THE ROVER trailer is well past half a million views and should hit 1 million in a couple of days? Give it another watch to get you in the mood for this movie update post.

First up is The Playlist making me the love by having this article - Summer Movie Preview: 40 Most Anticipated Films - and then going ahead and making THE ROVER number 1!

 photo RobTheRover.jpg
1. "The Rover"
Cast: Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson, Scoot McNairy
Synopsis: In a war-torn future beset by financial collapse, a man trudges across the Australian desert to locate his stolen car and secure the mysterious cargo found inside.
Why It’s Worth Seeing: This is the first film for director David Michôd since his riveting debut “Animal Kingdom.” It’s been described as an existential western, and sees him reteam with Guy Pearce, with heartthrob Robert Pattinson and character actor favorite Scoot McNairy also on board. Michôd's debut captured the sweeping scope of early Michael Mann mixed with Werner Herzog’s anthropological analysis of human behavior, crafting a debut that was both terrifying and utterly unforgettable. While he’s taking things in a vaguely sci-fi direction here, Michôd has promised that this will be a relatively grounded affair, a crime picture in the outback that could be indicative of a contemporary mashup of “Wake In Fright” (with the idea of an outsider stranded in the outback) and “Mad Max” (with its emphasis on vehicular action). It's still under wraps beyond some impressive trailers, but more than anything else, we're hopeful that a Midnight Screening premiere at Cannes bodes for this being something truly impressive. We're tantalizingly close to finding out.
Release Date: June 13th.
You should totally check out the full list just in case your heart is still in tact. Reading all the movies THE ROVER beat will make your heart burst completely out of your chest. I'm currently typing with my heart spilled out everywhere. My god...that's morbid. Let's move on although the news continues to be good and my heart continues to swell.

 photo DaneRob.jpg

LIFE director, Anton Corbijn, has a website and while he was filming last month, he updated his site to drop a little gem of awesomeness:
This photograph is our first publicity shot from the film LIFE that i am currently shooting in Canada and USA. It is the story of James Dean and photographer Dennis Stock, set in early 1955. In the back of the car sits Jimmy as played by Dane DeHaan and in the passenger seat is Dennis, played by Robert Pattinson. Both guys are fantastic and are giving the film very good energy despite the very harsh winter we encountered in Canada.
We could have told him that. Rob is forever fantastic. Everyone else just needs to get the memo. ;)

WorkingRob is currently in transition. Or maybe he's just busy trying to figure out which crown the King of Cannes will be wearing next month. Either way, there are a couple of upcoming Rob projects that are starting to show signs of movement.

THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER might be filming from June 17 to Aug. 17 in Belgium and the UK according to Crew United. The site also revealed Rob's character name - CHARLES.

 photo TCOAL.jpg

The website of costar, Michael Epp, also confirms a June start month.

The time frame conflicts with some 411 RPAU and Cumberbatchweb got from Benedict Cumberbatch this month about THE LOST CITY OF Z.

Excerpt RPAustralia:
I know I know you all wanted information, but let me just say, Benedict was a little reluctant to talk about this film in detail for the simple reason that it was an upcoming project that he hadn’t filmed yet. Although when I asked him about it starting to film in July he did say “yes or possibly sooner”. He also made it a point to say that LCoZ was a difficult film and the logistics behind it are huge....So during the Q&A one wise soul did ask him about future projects (for those interested he has some TV in the pipeline with BBC and a movie in post production called “The Imitation Game“), but it’s his final comment on this question you’ll all be interested in (and I’m paraphrasing) “I am hopefully filming a movie called Lost City of Z in June”.
Tweet from Cumberbatchweb:
Other tidbits from the Benedict Cumberbatch panel include his favourite childhood movie was Ghostbusters & Lost City of Z filming in June
This could all work out since Rob is on supporting duties for both films. He seemed to film T.E. Lawrence for QUEEN OF THE DESERT in a blink. Summer 2014 for Rob might see him knocking  out both THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER and THE LOST CITY OF Z. We'll keep you posted of course. :)

As for Rob's other films that have been on a back burner - MISSION: BLACKLIST and HOLD ON TO ME - they remain on the back burner. No substantial movement or bait for us to bite on. Right now, I've got all of my digits crossed (making typing very difficult) for 3 things: 1. a new project is announced during Cannes 2. Rob is the lead and only star and 3. it's 24 hours long.

Ok so maybe just number 1 will happen. ;)

SPOILER POST: Robert Pattinson is "astonishing", "commanding" and "tremendous" with a "career-peak performance" in Good Time

SPOILER POST: Robert Pattinson is "astonishing", "commanding" and "tremendous" with a "career-peak performance" in Good Time

Good Time is sitting pretty at 92% certified FRESH on Rotten Tomatoes! This is Rob's highest rated film and thank you lord, he's the lead. Rob was praised heavily for Cosmopolis and The Rover but this film is clearly breaking new ground....

 photo tumblr_otmaxoojDV1tqxrc7o3_r1_250.gif photo tumblr_otmaxoojDV1tqxrc7o2_250.gif photo tumblr_otmaxoojDV1tqxrc7o1_250.gif photo tumblr_otmaxoojDV1tqxrc7o4_r1_250.gif

From Roger Ebert:
Having said that, most of what shines so well about “Good Time” can be traced back to Robert Pattinson’s performance, the best of an already-impressive career. He is impossible to ignore from his very first scene, expressing Connie’s ability to only keep digging himself deeper and deeper into trouble. Connie makes choices instantly, and one gets the impression that it’s an instinctual ability that has helped him at times but will only prove his downfall on this particular night. “Good Time” is essentially one long chase movie—the story of a man trying to evade capture for a bank robbery and get his brother out of the predicament into which he threw him—and Pattinson perfectly conveys the nervous energy of being essentially hunted by your own bad decisions without ever feeling like he’s chewing scenery. Like Pacino in the ‘70s, there’s something in the eyes and the body language, an unease about what’s going to happen next, an inability to sit down. It is a stunning performance, and one of the best of 2017 by far.

From Los Angeles Time:
“Good Time” is Pattinson’s breakthrough, the most sustained and revelatory transformation of the actor’s career and, not coincidentally, the most extreme of his recent efforts to thwart the audience’s sympathies.

From Entertainment Weekly:
Pattinson anchors Good Time, completely selling Connie from the moment he bursts into the frame and delivering the best performance of his career. (This coming only a few months after a quiet, assured turn in The Lost City of Z.)

From Variety:
A career-peak performance from Robert Pattinson

From The Wrap:
Pattinson delivers a manic, adrenalized performance in the vein of Robert DeNiro in “Mean Streets,” a film to which “Good Time” often pays homage.

From Time:
Good Time offers plenty of sweaty suspense laced with a few bittersweet laughs. But Pattinson is the real reason to see it: his Connie, wiry and intense, with beady, cracked-out eyes, is the kind of guy you'd cross the street to avoid.

From Little White Lies:
The tipping point arrived in James Gray’s The Lost City of Z, in which [Pattinson] insouciantly stole the film from underneath bulky lead Charlie Hunnam with a breathtaking and unshowy supporting turn. Good Time marks the full transition, as if his acting dirty laundry is now completely ice white once more and he can make great movies without the burden of his formative CV. He’s nothing short of tremendous here, taking cues from Robert De Niro circa Mean Streets as he channels a sense of constant exasperation, but in the most tamped down and poised way imaginable. He doesn’t ever strain to stretch this character too far or give him too much mystery or depth, emphasising that when it comes to his single-minded motivations, he’s something of a twinkle-toothed open book.

From SFist:
As Pattinson plays him, you also can't help but root for him, even as he's using everyone around him to get what he wants through a combination of charm and mania.

From Rolling Stone:
By now, Robert Pattinson shouldn't have to prove he can act. Cosmopolis, The Rover, Maps to the Stars and The Lost City of Z – they all show that his brooding Twilight days have passed into teen-movie myth. But if doubters still need proof, check out the Pattinson tour de force in Good Time...It's a wild, whacked-out ride that cements the reputation of the Safdies as gutter poets with a flair for tension that won't quit. But it's a never-better Pattinson who gives the film soul and a center of gravity.

From The Playlist:
And in Robert Pattinson‘s central performance, these Kerouacs of current-day Queens find their Neal Cassady. After a long period of ascent in which the signal to noise ratio for the young actor has been consistently out of whack, here he turns in his first unequivocally commanding lead performance: bringing absolute commitment, wolfish energy and Method-y charisma. Robert Pattinson is, finally, fantastic.

From The Film Stage:
Robert Pattinson gives the performance of his career thus far as Connie Nikas, a wired, erratically dangerous, and unpredictable pariah who looks like he could use a good night’s sleep.

From AP:
And in close-up, we see Pattinson more clearly than ever before. His performance — sensitive and controlled amid the chaos— is easily the best of his career.

From Paste:
Connie is played by Robert Pattinson in a performance so locked-in from the first second that it shoots off an electric spark from the actor to the audience: Just sit back, he seems to be telling us. I’ve got this under control.

From Collider:
It features a strong performance from the criminally underrated Robert Pattinson...Pattinson certainly doesn’t have it easy as Connie. His character is a parasite whose only redeeming value is his love for his brother. How he finds the subtle nuances to even suggest he’s more than that is all sorts of remarkable even if those trumpeting his work here as a career best are overlooking his stellar turn in The Rover.

From The Thrillist:
None of it would work without Pattinson powering the motor.

From Slate:
With this movie, both Pattinson and the Safdie brothers have broken new ground in their careers; if you haven’t been keeping track of what either of them is up to, Good Time would be a good time to start.

From JoBlo:
Proudly displaying their Scorsese influence (who’s thanked in the closing credits), GOOD TIME is a bit like MEAN STREETS if it had focused solely on Robert De Niro’s Johnny Boy. Shockingly, star Robert Pattinson makes for an ideal De Niro stand-in, with his Connie Nikas a staggering change-of-pace for the actor.

From Indiewire:
The actor is astonishing in the Safdies' rambunctious heist thriller, which takes place in a single frantic New York night.

From Slant1:
Connie is a mediocre criminal with an undeniable talent for drawing strangers into dicey situations, and the marvel of Pattinson's performance is how precisely the actor navigates the lies and pleading conviction innate in his character's bravado. Pattison's shaggy charisma is indebted to a slew of New York films from the 1970s and '80s, and Connie's dark journey through the night (something like if Ratso Rizzo or Sonny Wortzik were inserted into After Hours) is both candy-colored and scrupulously designed to address how the urban poor interact and negotiate with city services.

From Slant2:
The actor is a physical and emotional force throughout the film. Pattinson’s Connie exudes a simultaneous intelligence and cunning and a hopeless inability to comprehend his own limitations. The actor avoids empty posturing and homes in on his character’s sense of practicality—because the paranoiac Connie never stops thinking about and carefully calculating his next move. There are other memorable characters in Good Time, in particular the perpetual fuck-up drug dealer Ray (Buddy Duress), who Connie breaks out of Elmhurst accidentally, but the film is at its strongest when it keys its intoxicating aesthetic to Pattinson’s performance.

From HeyUGuys:
As Connie, Robert Pattinson is tremendous. He completely dominates the film and is in virtually every scene. As all his schemes unravel, his desperation and desire to escape is palpable. Connie quickly adapts to new situations and assumes different identities: polite young man, charmer, bank robber, security guard, tough guy. Pattinson laps up the challenge and gives the performance of his career.

From Vulture:
Most of this is on the shoulders of Pattinson, doing some of the best work of his post-franchise-journeyman career. His Connie is both capable and foolhardy, empathetic and scuzzy in the extreme.

From NJ.com:
Robert Pattinson as Connie and Jennifer Jason Leigh as his sometime girlfriend, Corey. Both elevate the material enormously. Pattinson - even scruffier than usual, but with an authentic New York accent and determined stare - is pure, panicked intensity.

From MaraMovies:
In the electrifying crime-drama Good Time, the actor finally shows that he has range beyond that of a brooding, sleepy-eyed vampire. Playing a small-time crook on the run in the most desperate night of his life, he gives his most commanding performance yet. Indeed, Pattinson, using his best East Coast dialect, is in virtually every scene of this adrenaline rush of a movie. A rock-synth musical score, neon lights, choppy editing and guerilla-style cinematography all factor into the frazzled story. It’s not until the film hits the brakes that we’re able to breathe and appreciate his virtuoso work.

From Sight & Sound:
Pattinson is playing for keeps, throwing himself into the Safdies’ shabby, stylised spin on street-level realism. Comparisons have been made with Robert De Niro’s star-making role in Mean Streets (Martin Scorsese sits atop the ‘Gratitude’ list in the credits), but where Johnny Boy was an unpredictable firecracker, Pattinson imbues Connie with an enigmatic, desperate, directionless energy.

From IrishTimes:
Against that, he adores his brother and is imbued with the charisma of Robert Pattinson, who has never been better. “I always wanted to look like I’ve been street cast,” said Robert Pattinson told the press conference after Good Time premiered at Cannes. Well, mission accomplished. They shot the film guerrilla-style on the streets on New York with one of the planet’s hottest stars and not one person spotted him.

From The Hollywood Reporter:
Led by Robert Pattinson, giving arguably his most commanding performance to date as a desperate bank robber cut from the same cloth as Al Pacino's Sonny Wortzik in Dog Day Afternoon, this is a richly textured genre piece that packs a visceral charge in its restless widescreen visuals and adrenalizing music, which recalls the great mood-shaping movie scores of Tangerine Dream.

From The Skinny:
The film stars an unrecognisable Robert Pattinson as low-level bank robber Connie, and the actor offers up his most accomplished performance to date.

From AVClub:
Pattinson is enthralling in the part; he lets us see not just the caged-animal attitude of the character, who’s in survival mode for the entire running time, but also the improvisational spark of his intellect. Edward Cullen is a tiny speck in his rearview mirror.

From Telegraph:
Instantly riveting, Pattinson bristles his way through the movie, saying some truly ridiculous things. “Don’t be confused or it will make things worse for me!”

From Vanity Fair:
I’d argue that Pattinson had already proven his mettle this spring in James Gray’s near-perfect The Lost City of Z, in which he plays a laconic supporting role with a centered intelligence, communicating a calm thoughtfulness that was a vast improvement dead-eyed work as Edward Cullen. But Good Time certainly builds on that promise, and is an example for other young (or not!) actors out there looking to do a career renovation that the best path forward is oftentimes smaller, riskier films done with the right auteurs. (It certainly makes it easier to do this if you never have to earn big popcorn paychecks again because you’re stinking rich from doing five vampire movies.) Pattinson has shown discerning taste these last few years, and with Good Time’s glowing reception on the Croisette, he’s finally reaping the benefits of it.

From TimeOut:
Pattinson is great in this, surely his best post-‘Twilight’ performance to date: he’s quick and coarse yet he also lends the character a glint in the eye and a spark in the brain – he’s always more than just bad.

From The Guardian:
Robert Pattinson gives a strong, charismatic performance.

From Common Sense Media:
...it's Pattinson, shaking off the last of his Twilight-drenched past, who gives a Pacino-worthy performance full of street smarts and fast talk, but with a human soul.

From Reason:
Robert Pattinson does his best work to date in Good Time, a raw, roaring new movie from the Safdie brothers.

From Cinemalogue:
Good Time also provides a showcase of Pattinson’s versatility, as his ferocious transformation leaves behind the brooding British heartthrob persona on which he established his career.

From Movie Nation:
Pattinson, who never lets on that he’s wearing an alien accent, gives Connie just a hidden hint of charm. Like the actor himself, women just get lost in those blue eyes, and he can talk them into anything.

From We've Got This Covered:
...A career-expanding role from Pattinson...Pattinson vanishes behind a gritty, kicked-in-the-teeth anti-hero, desperation his cologne of choice. Baggy hoodies his uniform. You’ve never seen this Pattinson in a very James-Franco-from-Spring-Breakers way – and you damn well should.

From Buzzfeed:
Good Time starts and ends with Nick, but the film belongs to Connie, and to Pattinson, who lives and breathes the young man's poisonous desperation. It's the kind of performance that sticks with you, like a layer of grime that needs to be washed off.

From Screen Crush:
It would be inaccurate to say Pattinson is unrecognizable as Connie – the YA heartthrob has too handsome and recognizable a face to totally disappear into a role. But there’s something remarkable about how well Pattinson’s good looks meld with his seedy, lowlife character. He’s disarmingly handsome, which he uses to manipulate others including an underaged teen (Taliah Webster), but when you get up close you can see the ruthlessness in his eyes.

BREAKING: Robert Pattinson exits Mission: Blacklist due to scheduling issues

BREAKING: Robert Pattinson exits Mission: Blacklist due to scheduling issues

UPDATE2: One of the screenwriters thanked Rob fans for their support HERE and HERE plus there was another great write up that stood out to me. Bottom of the post.
UPDATE: I like what The Playlist said in their post. Excerpt follows the initial report from The Wrap.

The writing has been on the wall so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Rob has left the building where Mission: Blacklist is concerned.

 photo bafta3.gif

From The Wrap:
Code Entertainment is financing the film, which will recast the lead role of military interrogator Eric Maddox
Robert Pattinson has exited “Mission: Blacklist,” an indie thriller about the hunt for Saddam Hussein, due to scheduling issues, TheWrap has learned.
First announced in May 2012, Pattinson was set to play military interrogator Eric Maddox, who spearheaded Hussein's capture.
With two films premiering at Cannes, Pattinson is coming off a very active period. He just wrapped Anton Corbijn's “Life” with Dane DeHaan and did not have sufficient time to prepare for his demanding role in “Mission: Blacklist,” an individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap.
The role of Maddox will now be recast, and the filmmakers hope to start production this fall.
...
Pattinson has a busy spring with two films heading to Cannes — David Cronenberg's “Maps to the Stars” and David Michod's “The Rover.” He also recently wrapped the role of photographer Dennis Stock opposite Dane DeHaan's James Dean in Anton Corbijn's “Life.”
Looking ahead, Pattinson is attached to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in James Gray's “The Lost City of Z” and the James Marsh thriller “Hold On to Me” with Carey Mulligan. He's repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment, Curtis Brown Group and attorney Robert Offer.
Excerpt from The Playlist:
Robert Pattinson is having a hell of a year. The former “Twilight” star has two films appearing at Cannes 2014 – David Cronenberg’s “Maps To The Stars” and David Michod’s “The Rover” – his already-completed bucket list achievement includes working with Werner Herzog (“Queen of The Desert”), Anton Corbijn (“Life”)and his to-do list includes acting for auteurs like James Gray (“Lost City Of Z”), James Marsh ("Hold on to Me") and director/actor Brady Corbet (“The Childhood of a Leader”). But a busy plate often means something has to go by the wayside....Pattinson, in the meantime, may just want a well-deserved rest.
Excerpt from We Got The Covered:
Actors like Robert Pattinson are sometimes the most interesting ones to watch as they go about crafting their career in Hollywood. Completely written-off as a legitimate talent due to his work on the Twilight series, the British thesp is now making most critics bite their tongues. With an impressive turn in Cosmopolis not too long ago, and lead roles in two very exciting upcoming films (David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars and David Michod’s The Rover), the actor is starting to turn heads again. Add to that a whole slate of in-development projects (Lost City of Z, Life, Queen of the Desert) that will solidify his status as a leading man even further, and Robert Pattinson is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most exciting young talents (I never thought I would write that sentence)
...
...It’s still a shame that Pattinson had to drop out of what sounds like a really interesting story. Apparently the role called for a lot of preparation though, and the actor just didn’t have the time, which is perfectly understandable given his busy slate.
Onward and upward!

MOVIE NEWS NEW ROLE: Robert Pattinson to Star in 'Good Time' Directed By The Safdie Brothers

MOVIE NEWS NEW ROLE: Robert Pattinson to Star in 'Good Time' Directed By The Safdie Brothers
Fantastic news today, The Hollywood Reporter announced an exciting new role for Rob. He'll be starring in Good Time directed by Josh and Benny Safdie. In a recent Reddit Q&A (HERE) the directors have spoken about shooting this fall .

Check out all the details below and also what The Film Stage & The Playlist are saying

image host

From The Hollywood Reporter:
Robert Pattinson will star in neo-grindhouse caper Good Time, which will be directed by Josh and Benny Safdie.

The indie film centers on a bankrobber's flailing efforts to evade the dragnet closing in on him. Pattinson will star as Connie.

Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein wrote the script for the film, which will be produced by Sebastian Bear-MCclard of Elara Pictures.

The Safdie brothers, who recently signed with WME, are indie filmmakers whose most recent project, Heaven Knows What, is currently in theaters. The critically acclaimed film following a young heroin addict (Arielle Holmes) who finds love in the streets of New York was released by Radius-TWC. It previously won the C.I.C.A.E Award at the Venice Film Festival and also played at the Toronto Film Festival and New York Film Festival.

The directing team's previous indie projects include Daddy Longlegs, which played at both the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and the 2010 Sundance Film Festival; the doc Lenny Cook, which followed a star high school basketball player and played at Tribeca and Venice before airing on Showtime in February 2014; and their debut feature, The Pleasure of Being Robbed, which premiered at SXSW in 2008 and also played at the Cannes sidebar Directors' Fortnight before airing on IFC.

Since starring in the vampire franchise phenomenon known as Twilight, Pattinson has focused his efforts on interesting indie roles. He's worked with esteemed directors including David Michod (The Rover), David Cronenberg (Cosmopolis, Maps to the Stars) and Werner Herzog (Queen of the Desert). His upcoming films include The Childhood of a Leader and The Lost City of Z with Sienna Miller and Charlie Hunnam. He's repped by WME and 3 Arts.

From The Film Stage
Few actors coming off the global recognition and financial clout provided by a record-breaking franchise have been able to do so with as much discernment as Robert Pattinson. Films from David Cronenberg, Werner Herzog, Anton Corbijn, and David Michôd are under his belt — and James Gray and Harmony Korine collaborations in the works — and we now have another to add to the forthcoming slate.

THR reports that the actor will lead Good Time, the next picture from Josh and Benny Safdie, who are coming off one of the year’s best films, Heaven Knows What. Described as an “indie neo-grindhouse caper,” it follows a “bankrobber’s flailing efforts to evade the dragnet closing in on him.” Although no additional details are made available yet, we assume Pattinson’s character, Connie, is the bank robber.

It’s scripted by Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, and they’ve previously noted there are plans to shoot this fall, presumably after work on James Gray’s Lost City of Z wraps up.

From The Playlist
Robert Pattinson is yet again signed up to work with auteur talent, and I have to say, the prospect of this one sounds pretty great.
Filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie made waves with their addiction drama "Heaven Knows What" and it has attracted the right attention, with Pattinson signing up for their next film, "Good Time." Described as a "neo-grindhouse" flick (I'm already halfway sold on that alone), the actor will play Connie, a bank robber to tries to escape as a dragnet beings to draw closer and closer. That premise sounds perfectly like the stuff of B-movies and I'm intrigued to see how the Safdies tackle that kind of material.

No word on when it might shoot, but presumably it'll have to wait until Pattinson has wrapped James Gray's "Lost City Of Z" which starts shooting later this year.

Robert Pattinson's "hotly contested" The Lost City of Z coming as soon as Spring 2017 and more!

We already know about the Amazon deal but The Hollywood Reporter scored some more 411 about The Lost City of Z distribution and deals while at TIFF this week.

From The Hollywood Reporter:
A week after Amazon Studios picked up North American rights to the hotly contested Charlie Hunnam starrer The Lost City of Z, the streaming giant has closed a deal with Bleecker Street to release the film theatrically.
Sources peg the overall deal, which was brokered by CAA, at a whopping mid-eight figures.
Amazon is putting the finishing touches on the deal with Andrew Karpen's Bleecker Street to release the James Gray-helmed film in spring 2017 -- though the rollout plan is still being worked out. Amazon's Bob Berney will spearhead the marketing and distribution.
The film, which also stars Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller, is produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B.
Click HERE to read the entire article.

THR also reports that "Bleecker Street, the upstart distributor behind Eye in the Sky and Captain Fantastic, is expected to be an active buyer at Toronto." They have a great article about how Bleecker Street is going to aggressively campaign during awards season for their film, Eye in the Sky. Great movie too. Love to see Rob's film falling in good hands. :)

Based on author David Grann’s nonfiction bestseller, THE LOST CITY OF Z tells the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the region. Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who regard indigenous populations as “savages”, the determined Fawcett – supported by his devoted wife (Sienna Miller), son (Tom Holland) and aide de camp (Robert Pattinson) – returns time and again to his beloved jungle in an attempt to prove his case, culminating in his mysterious disappearance in 1925.

NEW PIC: Robert Pattinson with James Gray behind the scenes of The Lost City of Z

The Lost City of Z twitter account shared a new behind-the-scenes image of Rob with director, James Gray. Make sure you catch this film in theaters near you before it's gone! It's an epic and should definitely be seen on the big screen. It's already made over $6M, a second best showing for Gray and a welcome tally for Rob during his post-Twi years of auteur films. Get out and support!

Robert Pattinson spotted at a photography shop in London + movie updates for Life and The Lost City of Z

Robert Pattinson spotted at a photography shop in London + movie updates for Life and The Lost City of Z

Rob's Life costar, Dane DeHaan, recently shared that he's working with a dialect coach to master James Dean's voice. These tweets today from a London based photography shop, Mr Cad, make us wonder if Rob is picking up a new hobby or doing some Dennis Stock research for Life as well.

photo RobertPattinsongif021.gifThat's very cool! Mission: Blacklist won our recent poll for which Rob film you're looking forward to him filming (click HERE to see the results) but Life is my number one. The thought of Rob prepping to play Dennis Stock by, pardon the pun, stocking up on photography gear and learning he craft excites me. From personal experience, Rob's a great photographer. He made sure I got a good picture with him since my hands were vibrating phalanges. But I'm assuming much. Maybe Papa Pattinson asked him to go pick up some film. LOL

Another fun bit of Life news is from the director, Anton Corbijn, who premiered a film at Sundance (A Most Wanted Man). From the NYT:
He was only at Sundance for two days, heading directly to the set of his next production, “Life,” in Toronto. It’s the story of the relationship between James Dean and the Life magazine photographer Dennis Stock (played by Dane DeHaan and Robert Pattinson, respectively).
We know the film is shooting in February but all the main players clearly getting prepped is just putting a spring in my step. Bring on 1950sRob! It's one of my favorite eras.

Not much else going on with the other films. Benedict Cumberbatch also mentioned prepping for The Lost City of Z (click HERE to read) and stating that it will be his next film. The last word on principal photography was summer 2014. No updates for Mission: Blacklist or The Childhood of a Leader. We are watching out for updates on the latter thought because the director, Brady Corbet, was also at Sundance for The Sleepwalker. Queen of the Desert is still filming and Nicole Kidman and James Franco have been spotted. No word on Rob's schedule on the set. And lastly, and sadly, Hold On To Me was removed from Rob's IMDb page. We removed it from our sidebar but we'll have to wait and see if it resurrects for Rob or turns into Unbound Captives.

Thanks Nancy for the tip!

UPDATE:

Vanity Fair Italy had this to say about the Venice Festival (Translated using google translate)
Now, another high defection rate of disappointment, the British actor Robert Pattinson, who at the 72nd Venice Film Festival in Venice, on Saturday 5, was to present The Childhood of a Leader in the category Horizons.

Unfortunately Robert Pattinson had a setback on the set of The Lost City of Z, which is running these days in Belfast.
For now, the show lacks official confirmation, but it seems there is so little hope.

As for the Deauville Festival, Le Figaro are reporting this......
(translated with Google Translate)
Another star who should, according to organizers, attracting a crowd of groupies, Briton Robert Pattinson, 29, will spend "a few hours" in Deauville Saturday. The vampire of the Twilight saga, which also embodied Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, has received the price of the new Hollywood. As in Berlin in February he will present Anton Corbijn Life, in which he plays a photographer James Dean.

Brace yourselves. Is Robert Pattinson reteaming with David Michôd (The Rover), Joel Edgerton (Life) and Brad Pitt (The Lost City of Z) for a new movie? Production would start in June!

Brace yourselves. Is Robert Pattinson reteaming with David Michôd (The Rover), Joel Edgerton (Life) and Brad Pitt (The Lost City of Z) for a new movie? Production would start in June!

The main industry trades (Variety, Deadline, The Wrap) haven't mentioned Rob's involvement yet but IMDbPro has included Rob in a new project:

The King would have Rob rejoining his The Rover writer/director, David Michôd, and Life costar, Joel Edgerton, if IMDb proves to be correct. Rob also worked with Brad Pitt who co-produced The Lost City of Z. Brad recently worked with David in War Machine available on Netflix.

Little White Lies posted about The King, which will star Oscar nominated, Timothy Chalmet (Call Me By Your Name), but they might have gotten their info from IMDbPro as well.

From LWL:
Fresh from his breakout roles in Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me by Your Name and Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, Timothée Chalamet is reportedly in line to play King Henry V in a new Netflix release from Animal Kingdom and The Rover director David
Michôd...According to Deadline Chalamet is set to appear in The King as the eponymous English monarch, who famously led his army to victory at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 during the Hundred Years’ War with France. He died aged 36, leaving the throne to his infant son.
Michôd’s previous feature, the Brad Pitt-fronted military satire War Machine, arrived on Netflix last year to little fanfare. The Australian filmmaker has teamed up with regular collaborator and compatriot Joel Edgerton to pen the script for The King, and with Chalamet joining Robert Pattinson in the principle cast, we’re bracing ourselves for something big.
Oh I would definitely be bracing.

Excerpted details from Deadline (does not include mention of Rob):
Timothee Chalamet is firming his first starring role since being Oscar nominated for his breakout turn in Call Me By Your Name. Chalamet will star as the title character in The King, a Plan B-produced drama helmed by David Michôd. Production will start in June.
Joel Edgerton and Michôd wrote the script. Chalamet will play the young Henry V. After his brother is killed in battle before his coronation, a young king is coronated in the late 1300s. The reluctant ruler wears the crown at a time when England was near a war with France, and the empire is teetering. He rises to the occasion, admirably.
Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner will produce along with Edgerton and Michôd. Liz Watts, who produced the Michôd-directed Animal Kingdom and The Rover, are also producing. Michôd made his most recent film with Plan B and Netflix, the Brad Pitt-starrer War Machine.
Fingers crossed, guys! I wouldn't mind seeing this reunion at all. ;)
