Olivia Williams Talks About Being A Robert Pattinson Fan

Olivia Williams reveals that she didn't have any scenes with Robert Pattinson in Maps To The Stars but says that she met him in the makeup trailer and got him to sign her daughters Harry Potter book and that she's a fan.
She also says that he's as devastatingly beautiful in person as he is on film.

I love Guy Pearce. I've been watching him acting since he was in 'Neighbours' and I cannot wait to see him with Rob in 'The Rover'. Check out this interview with him on Australia's "Mornings" show where he talks about working with Rob and filming "The Rover"

" I Hope We Will See Him One Day As A Director" ~ Werner Herzog Talks About Robert Pattinson

" I Hope We Will See Him One Day As A Director" ~Werner Herzog Talks About Robert Pattinson

 photo WernerHerzogampRobertPattinson.jpg

This interview with Werner Herzog (director of "Queen Of The Desert") was done back in January and as you know we got updated news about the location etc in June (check that out HERE if you missed it) so disregard the second part of the second question.
But have a look at the great things Werner has to say about Rob!

Playboy: For your next film 'Queen of the Desert' you have cast 'Twilight' teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson.
Herzog: He approached me. That is why I am taken seriously in Hollywood. Because so many good actors want to work with me. Nicolas Cage was never better than in 'Bad Lieutenant'.
Playboy: What do you see in Robert Pattinson ?
Herzog: He has charisma, he is smart, he writes. I hope we will see him one day as a director. 'Queen of the Desert' is not yet fully funded, and we don't know yet where we will shoot. Possibly, that should be in Syria.

Robert Pattinson Continues To Charm Journalists During His 3-Day Launch For Dior Homme

So earlier today we heard Emily Dean gush about meeting Robert Pattinson at the Dior event in LA (check that out HERE if you missed it.)
Well after that people started asking her on twitter about Rob and if she liked the Dior ad.
Amazing, Beyond Divine! Oh Emily what are you trying to do to us?

 photo Myheart.gif

We've said it before and we'll say it again

 photo gonnadie.gif

When asked for more she went on to say
Welcome to the world of the Robsessed Emily. You're one of us now

Emily wasn't the only one tweeting about Rob, the Dior beauty publicist Dianne Vavra tweeted this......
Arrrgh I love it!

It's been such a great (and busy) week for Rob (and for his fans) and there's plenty more to come.

Ben Mezrich Author Of "The Social Network" Is A Huge Robert Pattinson Fan

Who knew Ben Mezrich author of "The Social Network" was a huge Robert Pattinson fan? Not me that's for sure!
He was on CNN yesterday and mentioned that he would love Robert Pattinson to star in his next film "Straight Flush"

 photo thumbup.gif

This resulted in people tweeting the author and he responded with this............

Rob in demand, do you love it or do you love it?

 photo loveit.gif

Mr Mezrich wasn't finished sharing yet.

He also revealed that he met with Rob once and (not surprisingly) had only good things to say about him!

Praise For Robert Pattinson From "Queen Of The Desert" Director Werner Herzog

 photo WernerHerzogampRobertPattinson.jpg

Werner Herzog was interviewed by Zeit Online and they asked him about Robert Pattinson & briefly about "Queen Of The Desert".
It's comes as no surprise to us (and I'm sure to you too) that he had nothing but good things to say about Rob

Here's the excerpt where he's asked about Rob:
(Note: Original Article is in German so I translated it using Google Translate)

How do you assess the creative power of the teen star Robert Pattinson, who you will be working with soon?
"This is a very intelligent man. Writes well. Knows exactly what he's doing. He also knows that he must be out of this short-lived type of role of Teen Stars."

What can you say about your current project, the film adaptation of the life of an archaeologist and undercover agent Gertrude Bell?
I talk about it only when it is filmed.

SO there you have it, short and sweet and staying pretty tight lipped on "Queen of the Desert" but isn't it so nice to hear everyone giving Rob such high praise. SO proud of him!

Who's the next sex symbol? "No one can compete with Robert Pattinson. He's in a league of his own."

Who's the next sex symbol? "No one can compete with Robert Pattinson. He's in a league of his own."

Well....Eddie Redmayne is certainly on my good list when it comes to male actors that are not Rob. Here's what he said at the Evening Standard Film Awards last week in London.

Congrats to him on all his success with Les Misérables. I thought his solo with Empty Chairs At Empty Tables was amazing. My second favorite after the much acclaimed Hathaway solo.

Anywho...enough Les Misérables talk. Back to what Eddie was saying. NO ONE can compete with Rob's status as a sex symbol. Should we nominate Eddie for 2013 Best Non-fandom Supporter during the year-end ROBsessed Awards now or later? ;)

Overlooked is a personal choice: Robert Pattinson. No, not for the "Twilight" series, but for "Cosmopolis." Dismissed as glorified mannequin, Pattinson took on a no-budget film adaptation of an impossible-to-adapt book from an impenetrable author adapted by an avant-garde director. As a Wall Street Master of the Universe who never leaves his chauffeured limousine, Pattinson carries the movie the way Michael Jordan carried the Chicago Bulls.
Still, it’s not surprising the voters overlooked Pattinson. He’ll just have to keep taking chances while he rakes it in with mega-grossers

"He's Really Easygoing & Open" - Holliday Grainger Talks About Robert Pattinson

"He's Really Easygoing & Open" - Holliday Grainger Talks About Robert Pattinson

Photobucket

In an interview with Grazia  Holliday Grainger mentioned her co-stars and as we know she has had the pleasure of starring with Rob not once but twice.

She only had good things to say about her "Bad Mothers Handbook" & "Bel Ami" co-star.
Check it out below.........
It almost seems unfair that Holliday has Robert Pattinson on her co-star list, too. She starred with him in 2007’s TV drama, The Bad Mother’s Handbook when she was 18, and in last year’s Bel Ami. ‘He’s really easy going,’ she says of the Twilight heartthrob. ‘And open – amazingly so considering he’s so closely scrutinised. He’s still managed to maintain a sense of self. [On Bel Ami] you couldn’t get to set half the time because there were so many screaming girls. Even at 5am. It was mad. He had to change hotels because there were so many fans outside one he couldn’t get in. I’ve watched him live with that and it would send me insane. There’s no way could I cope with that.’

"I Felt Lucky To Have Robert Pattinson" - David Cronenberg Talks "Cosmopolis"

David Cronenberg spoke to the ReadingEagle.com about "Cosmopolis", casting Robert Pattinson for the role of Eric and how impressed he was with the fan sites devoted to "Cosmopolis".
Check out the parts of the interview below where he talks about Rob.

Photobucket

Cronenberg fans will find "Cosmopolis" very much of a piece with his filmography, particularly "Existenz." That film concerned the creation of a new virtual-reality game into which players directly - and cringe-inducingly - plugged themselves. In "Cosmopolis," Packer relies on virtual reality to simultaneously monitor and detach himself from the real world.

"The sort of strange virtual-reality element of 'Cosmopolis' does lead you to 'Existenz,' " Cronenberg conceded, "but thematically they're different. Eric was characterized by one of the investors in the movie - a man named Edouard Carmignac, who is a genuine French billionaire - to be completely accurate. Edouard invested in this movie because he felt he recognized many of his colleagues in Eric, that they do, in fact, create this kind of bubble reality that they live in and that is just completely disconnected from people's idea of human reality.

"So on that level 'Cosmopolis' is very realistic," Cronenberg said. "Of course, at the same time, there are many gamers who live mostly in a virtual world and, I suppose, 'Existenz' is still an accurate portrayal. So there is that crossover."

At first glance, Packer appears to be a soulless character. He initially exhibits little to no outward emotion, not while receiving updates about his dwindling finances, not during sex, not ever. That sense of detachment is enhanced by the limo, which is smooth-running, soundproof and bulletproof, with tinted windows that minimize Packer's view of outside events and prevent prying eyes from looking in at him.

"You can see his soul as the movie progresses, as he approaches his childhood," Cronenberg said, "because, really, we begin to realize that the barbershop represents his childhood. It's his childhood barbershop. It's where he used to live. It's where he came from." (Kate: The scene in the barber shop was one of my favourites as much as it pained me to see Rob's hair being cut)

"Eric wasn't born into money. I think you see Eric become more vulnerable and more childlike and naive, and when he's in the barber chair he becomes like himself as a child, before he'd erected this Eric character, this Master of the Universe guy. So you should gradually warm up to him as you realize how vulnerable and how wounded he is.

"It's why I cast Robert," Cronenberg added. "It's a very uncompromising performance. We don't go out of our way to make him more likable than he is, but you want to watch him. He's very charismatic, Rob." (Kate: Yes, I want watch him every minute and hour of the day, Oops did I say that out loud ;-})

"Cosmopolis" is Pattinson's show, and it's as far removed as it could be from the commercial gloss and sparkly vampires of the "Twilight" films in which Pattinson has starred as Edward Cullen. The actor has been in the news of late, owing to the demise of his relationship with "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart, but Cronenberg lauds his leading man for his often-overlooked, still largely untapped talents as an actor.

"Rob is in every scene of this movie," the filmmaker said, "and I needed a guy who could support that. His accent is spot-on - it's very much like Don DeLillo's accent. He brings a wry sense of humor, and he brings that strange emotionality that you feel from underneath because, as I say, it's not there from the beginning, because it's a journey in more ways than one.

"You have to see Eric evolve and, thanks to Rob, you do," Cronenberg said. "I think it's a spectacular performance, very nuanced and detailed."

Like everyone with a stake in "Cosmopolis," Cronenberg hopes that Pattinson's legions of "Twi-hard" fans will turn out en masse for "Cosmopolis." Based on the production of the film, he said, that might happen.

"The Twi-hards followed this movie hugely," Cronenberg said. "There were 20 to 30 sites devoted to 'Cosmopolis,' some of them really quite spectacular, professional and slick, and they were being done mostly by Twi-hards, who are mostly girls, and they were reading the book. They were reading the book and commenting on it, on these sites, before the movie was finished."

The director is clearly impressed.

"That was incredibly satisfying," he said. "They were loving the book and the idea that Rob was doing it, and they're supporting Rob's choice.

"I got a lot of props myself," Cronenberg added with a laugh, "because the Rob fans are rooting for him to show what he can do as an actor and, therefore, they loved me for giving him the chance. (Kate: Yes we did! Plus we loved how adorable Robenberg were)

"That was their attitude, though my attitude was that I felt lucky to have Rob." (Kate: Awwwwww, could we love David any more than we already do?)

"'Cosmopolis' Was A Great Choice For Robert Pattinson"- Christopher Heyerdahl

He also praised Rob's choice of working with David Cronenberg on "Cosmopolis"

"Robert Pattinson Is A Very Talented Actor & A Very Kind & Caring Human Being" - Saad Siddiqui

Robert Pattinson's "Cosmopolis" Co-star Saad Siddiqui (he played one of the paparazzi in the pie throwing scene) talks about how Rob was so welcoming on set and how enjoyable it was to work with him. I love how everyone has good things to say about working with Rob!

Saad Siddiqui is a versatile actor with many American and Canadian credits to his name. He most recently appeared in the films Inescapable and Cosmopolis, the television series “Covert Affairs” (NBC) and “The Listener” (CTV). On working with Hollywood directors like David Cronenberg, who directed him in the Robert Pattinson-led Cosmopolis, he says, “The last three Hollywood directors I have worked with are all wonderful and great. I really enjoyed working with David Cronenberg and Ruba Nadda as I have watched their films over the years. I know Ruba really well now and filmed a whole month with her in South Africa and it was an amazing experience.” The actor adds that, “the story of Inescapable was so important to her to make, I saw how dedicated she was to it, and It was a pleasure for me to help bring it to the silver screen. I would love to work again with Ruba and David.” He also enjoyed working with Pattinson, calling him a “very talented actor and a very kind and caring human being”, before recalling how welcoming he was when they first met on set and how enjoyable the experience was.

Emma Watson says Robert Pattinson is "for sure British" in new After Hours on MTV

Emma Watson says Robert Pattinson is "for sure British" in new After Hours on MTV

Too cute. Emma Watson sat down with her costars from Perks Of Being A Wallflower to play one of Josh Horowitz's crazy MTV After Hours games - American Talk. I love the way she says, "For sure British." Mmmmmmmm :D

I know some of you can't see the video but what Josh did was hold up 3 pictures (Madonna and Bieber were the other ones) and when he held up Rob's he asked the same question - American or British. All of them said British but Emma extended her reply:
For sure British. But he's starting to sound a little, he's managed to get that kind of like mid-Atlantic kind of thing going recently.
Her costar in the red pants teases and said, "I think he's been living in the middle of the Atlantic ocean."

I don't know what a mid-Atlantic accent is but if that's what Rob has, I love it and it rules my world. ;)

Awwww I love all the praise that Rob is getting from his co-stars, from David and from all the reviews for this movie.

I have that proud Mama Steph feeling

The tone of Cosmopolis is this very straight-faced, serious type of wacky. How did Cronenberg describe the tone to you?

You know, he didn’t, in a lot of ways. I think he just trusted we’d get a sense of it. Even though the dialogue is very odd, you know what his sensibility is anyway, so you kind of know what the tone is. I did something I don’t normally do on a movie…I just came in at the end, after they shot most of the movie, and I asked David if I could watch the footage, because I wanted to see the tone of the movie and what Rob looked like, talked like, and moved like. I felt it was something I needed to see, because I’m playing a guy who always has a fantasy of him in his head. I did ask to see the footage for exactly what you just said: it’s an odd tone. I wanted to just watch some of it, so I could see how I could fit into it and, in some ways, veer off of it.

It is similar to a few of his previous film in how abstract the story can be at times. When you get a script this dense and full of symbolism, do you try to apply meaning to everything or do you just go with it?

In this instance, with this script, I read this whole script many, many times. I usually do that anyway, but, on this, it felt essential for me to read it a bunch of times. It wasn’t about just concentrating on my stuff, partially because it was so interesting. I just had such a good time reading it and thinking about it. Like you said, there’s a tonal thing, and I needed to have a sense of that in my head. I also feel like the character has a real awareness of Rob’s character, so I felt like I needed to know Rob’s character. Certainly, in my scenes, it all had to make crystal sense to me [Laughs].

You mentioned the disappointment you can get when seeing how your performance was handled. With experiences like that, how do you define whether something you’re in is a success or not? Do you mostly focus on the final outcome, the experience, or how your performance ended up?

Now, at this point in my life, I think I look mostly at whether I enjoyed my time at work with my colleagues [Laughs]. When you’re getting older, that becomes the more interesting thing. All the other stuff is out of your hands, so it’s really just about enjoying the work I’ve done. Whether I’m ever good in the work, I don’t know. Whether people enjoy it or not, I don’t know. It’s just about whether I had a good day at work.
