Robert Pattinson Razzy Awards Talk is JUST Talk

Razzies (Golden Raspberry Awards) are the anti Oscars. They are given to the worst in movies.

LA Times Gold Derby must be going through a drought of their own since they published an article titled: "Razzies for Rob Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Megan Fox?" solely based on the opinions of their visitors. If we go with that, tomorrow I might have to write an article about how OUR readers think Robert Pattinson should be nominated for a Nobel Prize in Chemistry, you know because of his insane chemistry:

Of course seeing this article in google, the loser over at Irish Central HAD to write something about it :) He LIVES for these kinds of things. It's his money maker, the most hits he gets is when he writes an idiotic article about Robert Pattinson. He even used a picture of Rob's head photoshopped on Justin Timberlake's body because he just doesn't know what's real and what's fake... (I'm not linking to him, please don't visit the loser's site and give him the hits he craves :))

Manip:

As for the razzies, hey even Oscar winners get nominated and "win" them every now and then but I don't think New Moon will be nominated for any Razzies :)

From LA Times Gold Derby:

Naughty Derbyites are already serving up Razzie speculation here in our forums even though noms aren't unveiled until Feb. 1 (one day before Oscar bids, of course). BC insists that "Twilight: New Moon" "needs to be nominated because it is overrated and I can finally say Golden Raspberry Award nominee Robert Pattinson." Adds our poster named kelemenmarc, "And I hope I can finally say Taylor Lautner too, a Golden Raspberry Award nominee."

Beware, "Twilight" haters: The first installment wasn't nominated for a single Razzie in 2008. Oh, cruel Hollywood!
Twilight Saga New Moon Taylor Lautner Kristen Stewart news

Our posters believe the contest for worst actress is a diva smack-down between Megan Fox ("Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Jennifer's Body"), Beyoncé Knowles ("Obsessed"), likely Oscar nominee Sandra Bullock ("All About Steve"), Miley Cyrus ("Hannah Montana: The Movie"), recent Emmy winner Katherine Heigl ("The Ugly Truth"), Kristen Stewart ("Twilight Saga: New Moon") and Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson ("Bride Wars").

In addition to Rob Pattinson, the slugfest to snag the trophy as worst actor involves these chaps: Will Ferrell ("Land of the Lost"), Michael Cera and Jack Black ("Year One"), Oscar co-host Steve Martin ("The Pink Panther 2"), Gerard Butler ("Gamer," "Law Abiding Citizen," "The Ugly Truth"), Shia LaBeouf ("Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen").

LonePirate asks a curious question: "I wonder if 'Nine' is going to sneak in the (worst) picture category given its withering reviews and lackluster performance. Failed Oscar bait with a big name cast that bombs at the box office is usually prime Razzie fodder."

Just don't think Rob qualifies this year, when there are so many more worthy contenders. Ah, well, he can try again...lol

Seriously...would love to see him get the Hasting Pudding Award. Oh, and the Nobel Prize...ha!

Oh Crap.

Look...seriously..I love Rob.

His best performances to date were in "Bad Mother's Handbook" and "How to Be". The Twilight saga is NOT his best stuff. He just gets to show up and look pretty.

Shit...even in my own opinion he showed more range as Cedric Diggory.....

I totaly agree with you Jewls64

We are not saying he should be nominated for an OSCAR Jules but there are so many awful movies. New Moon isn't a bad movie and Rob's performance in it wasn't bad either.

Thanks loik13!!

I am a true Robsessor. I just think that he has not had the chance to show us how REALLY talented he is!

If the movies continue to dissapoint...THANK GOD we have his musical talent!!! And I am a fan of his musical ablities...I could watch him play piano with those damn fingers for hours on end!! LOL!

Jewels64 said...

Goz...I'm not saying New Moon was a bad movie. By no stretch of the means!!!

Catherine Hardwicke's stoner two hour music video of Twilight is God awful!!!! Rob deserves a really good director!

That is all I am saying! He is TALENTED! He has the major potential to be something incredible!!!

It's just a shame that he is not being showcased to his advantage.

Is it wrong that I wish that for him?

Untamed said...

Gozde, what's that? I didn't even say anything ;)
Seriously though, hit whores and fame whores alike, know that merely mentioning Rob's name will get them hits or air time. Thanks for not posting the link.
Razzie? I think not.

Hasting? Fucking hell, I need to get a mind. HASTY. Obviously not meant to be using my fingers today. But, yes, I agree - would like to watch Rob use his fingers all day long. Better go and do that now and recapture fleeting moment of sanity...if that's what it is...

New Moon is not Oscar worthy-but it's no razzie.. and neither is Rob, not even close..

Will Farrel-yes
Megan Fox-yes
Ashley Green? Sorry but yes, girl can't act.. but I still love her as Alice...

Jewel, I think he did well with How To Be (I watched it last night for the second time). It's a bit of an odd movie. I seem to recall Rob saying it was difficult to not play the guitar well when it's something he'd been doing for a while as well.
I read the Remember Me script and it's soooooo good. If Rob nails this, I think it would make a lot of people stop and take notice.

i thought that twilight deserved a razzie. i hated it. but i liked new moon soooo much more. it was a major improvement all around. so if twilight didn't get one, new moon shouldn't.

i still blame ch's direction...pulling sh*t performances out of actors with major potential. i was pretty happy with chris weitz.

Ana73 said...

i think the only reason that they are putting anyone and anything to do with twilight is to get people to read, they all know that if they mention it, people will hit that site to read what is being said.

i really like rob in how to be, and HP and twilight...ok i like rob in any movie, i am biased :))

Ana73 said...

my thoughts on twilight...it was made as an independent movie with a low budget so i thought that it was fine nothing spectacular except that rob was given another chance to act and get recognized and look where he is today. new moon is better and a blockbuster film with way more money behind it. i do believe eclipse will be even better. those are just my thoughts...

I am totally not any kind of expert on movies or the acting profession or industry, but I do understand very well psychology, character, and the interpretation of literature and literary characters. I can perceive very well the ability or non-ability of an actor (or movie star, since I don't think all deserve the term 'actor') to bring into reality, into the flesh, the persona and/or psyche of a character.
And with that understanding and perception is part of the reason I am so impressed with Rob: he CAN act. He DOES understand the characters he plays --including Edward--and brings him to reality. It is the limitation of the viewer who does not understand the character, and the limitations of the director and/or filming and/or editing, that might lead one to view his portrayals, including of Edward, as limited.
Do I think he can grow in skill? Yes, but part of that is having different parts that draw out, or force an understanding of, different aspects of the human soul, of humanity--and even beyond.

BTW-- I loved the comment about Nobel Prize for chemistry. :-) very cute!

Please, please Gozde, write that article om Rob and the Nobel Prize! It would be epic! You guys are hilarious!

I realize I am not an expert with movies. Rarely, to the "reviewers" and I see things the same way. That said: I do think I know good acting when I see it and when I don't. There are some actors who just make you cringe when they are delivering a line.

I do not think the Twilight scripts have been Oscar worthy. The material is not meaty or gritty enough to even come close for what Oscar demands, however; Rob impresses me with his acting in the small things. I "feel" Edward. His face is very expressive but not in a grand way but in the subtle and
small ways. '

As I watched "New Moon" again the other day I noticed that his acting is all very subtle, but that is what makes a character real to me.

I think he is going to be amazing in whatever he does.

Haystackhair said...

LMAO at your tags Goz. And A, I'm with you on the Hasty Pudding award! Then he'd be in Massachusetts receiving it and I might have a chance in hell of seeing the pretty in person! GAH! Just to look of course-#likeI'dhaveashotinhellofanythingelse. But then, he might shut down the city of Boston with all the people who would show up to see him!!!

@RPG glad someone else finally said it: when AG opens her mouth the entire scene is shot. You can't have a great movie when so many secondary roles are awwful.

@Jewels, I wholely agree. He's learning the craft, and BMH and HTB showcased him the best to date. I don't get up in arms when people who've only seen Twi question his acting because it hasn't given him room to hone or show real skills. But it was a great springboard, and his future will be brilliant!

Speaking of watching Rob play piano, here's a treat to focus on those lovely hands..

Ps: the boy really is damn hairy isn't he?!

This is exactly why i wan him and kristen to be out of this twilight thing ( Sorry about the kristen thing i was just a fan of her first so forgive me to bring her up)

The source material for these movie are just so bad that even meryll streep ( god know how much she is awessome in my book) and some fucking awesome aactors can't be less ridiculous in these movie.

They are just full of sheez. No character developpement. No storytelling. I'm going to really hate twilight if these two get a razzy.

Exactly. Didn't Hayley Berry get one for Cat Women and then turned around and did Monsters Ball and won her Oscar? So there Razzies. :-p Kiss Rob's hot sexy ass. LOL

Steph is Legit said...

I love rob. I think is a good actor. He isn't mind blowingly superb, but razzie worthy? Most definitely not. I can think of a monotone emotionless costar of his that should be nominated instead. But Rob is far from the border.

Steph is Legit said...

Has anyone seen Fired Up!.. how did they glaze over these actos and actrsses? They are probably just doing it for attention

LTavares2011 said...

Rob is a good actor with many talents.
Only a few actors has the courage to play different characters like he did ( Art; Daniel; Cedric; Salvador DalĂ; Edward...).
Rob needs GOOD directors. Mike Newell who directed him in Harry Potter is a good one.
It is very important for Rob to attend great movie events like the Golden Globes and Oscar, for example, to make good contacts with great actors, directors and producers. The Twilight Saga has given him good oportunities. He is an intelligent man and is taking all of them.

Although the script for NM isn't Oscar worthy I wouldn't be surprised to see it nominated for cinematography, which IMO is absolutely breathtaking. The Golden Compass was panned by the critics, bombed in the US box office and still won a Bafta and an Oscar for visual effects, same director helmed both of them. As for Rob I do think his acting in NM is very subtle which is the only way he can play it otherwise he will end up as Bela Lugosi. I haven't seen everything he has been in as you couldn't pay me to watch LA, I went to the Dali museum in Paris years ago and that was enough madness for me. I'm looking forward to RM as that is the acid test as to whether he is a leading man or not. Personally I think he is, very few actors ooze sexuality the way he does

Steph is Legit said...

It wouldn't matter anyway. The overwhelming population doesn't think he is a terrible actor. Some do but not the majority. He has movies lined up to prove himself otherwise. He has had a very versatile albeit short career so they should cut him some slack. Personally what ruined Twilight for me wasn't the direction of even the acting (yes I think Kristen was miscast but even she wasn't the worst thing) I thought the screenplay was completely horrible** and corny and the makeup was horrible. If they fixed these two factors the movie would have been better, but the movie did well regardless of the issues.

**Ex: The cafeteria scene when Tyler, Eric and Mike are all vying for Bella's affection and Tyler kisses her check and goes "my girl" and then runs away with Mike chasing him. Easily the worst scene.

Ex: When Bella is in the hospital after Tyler's van almost collides with her you can clearly see the color difference in makeup between Peter Facinelli' face and the real skin tone on his neck.

@ steph

All the thing you just listed were for twilight. The razzie here it's not for twilight but for new moon.

Everyone can say what ever they want about CH, but as for directing goes and finding good vibration about a scene, she beat CW largely.

Eventhough new moon got a higher budget, the movie was just lifeless. Not lifeless because of the story about loosing the objet of your infatuation; but lifeless because the director couldn't create an intimacy between his piece and the viewers. That is where CH was brillant. Though they were alot of cheesy line in twilight( Can't blame her , blame the source material) they were something appealing about it.

I hope none of the cast get a nomination. Though i think new moon deserve one. It was like watching an episode of one tree hill. And that show i really hate it.

Razzies are given out by haters.if your popular they dont like you and feel the need to drag you down.no reflection on his acting abilities.he nails edward.remeber me is going to really show what he can do though, givne that thes playing a human and all.the trailor looks amazing.those sites just do it for hits!if he wins i wont be surprised only because of how popular he is not that he deserves it because he doesnt.o just hope he can laugh it off though and not be hurt by it.i think most major actors have gotten one at some point and it doesnt phase them!

His performance in New Moon wasn´t bad. But at some points I expected more from him, especially in the bedroom scene with Kristen after Italy.
That scene just doesn´t work for me on so many levels...it´s just all wrong...they both say the right words, but they don´t come across at all!
The whole mood of that scene is wrong, even the music is as if they are preparing for a funeral.
Liked the rest though ;) ...

The New Moon movie seemed super boring ... I can not say the same about the book ...

The Twilight movie despite all its shortcomings I was thrilled with the characters and say with all the characters not just Edward and Bella ... At the point that I have the DVD of Twilight and New Moon and New Moon the truth if I've seen it twice is a lot ... Twilight Instead I never tire of seeing the movie.
