Robert Pattinson "Spider Monkey" Line was Cheesy?

Here's a video of The 100 Cheesiest Movie Quotes of All Time and Robert Pattinson's "Spider Monkey" line makes the list at 7:53... yes...it was cheesy :)

OH NO THEY DIDN'T!

"They may take our lives but they'll never take our FREEDOM!" *fist in the air!* I swear every time I watch that scene I feel like grabbing a hatched and charging! My family doesn't let me watch it anymore :)

"Love is never having to say you're sorry" *sniff* the people that made the list have no heart! :)

"Boromir: Our people, our people. I would have would have followed you, my brother... my captain... my king." *sniff* They really are heartless.... :)

"My mama always said life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get" - It's one of the best lessons you'll get in life kids. Listen to Forrest's mama!

"I'm also just a girl...standing in front of a boy...asking him to love her" - okay I know this one IS cheesy but it gets me every time! :))

Gozde, I agree. The Julia Roberts quote is cheesy, but every time I see that scene it gets me.

"Wilson I'm sorry! Wilson, Wilson!!" I LMAO everytime I see that part of Cast Away!!! =)

Noooo, "wilson I'm sorry" is so, so sad, and "ditto" just makes me well up, but spider monkey? beyond cheesy into totally lame & stupid. I can't believe CH thought it up, & I can't believe Rob picked it.

Snicker. The line isn't nearly as cheesy as the silly "special effects" of Edward running with Bella on his back.

(Gwen's a sci-fi buff---spend the money on the freaking special effects! Jeez.)

Oh god, Braveheart-by far..one of the best movies EVER made.....

I still cry after all these years...and I loved Notting Hill...and cast away, and oh hell all the chessy lines!

Marna, I laugh because my ex-boss' name is Wilson =), also because it's a little funny to see him care so much about a volleyball. But yes, I understand his feelings, it's as if he had lost his only friend and for that, it's a sad thing.
And I agree with you, "spider monkey" was totally lame.
Nevertheless anything coming from Rob's mouth would sound like an angel choir to my ears! =)

LOL, I HATED Braveheart! And all those costume dramas like it. Just bore me to tears. Give me Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure or the Thin Man movies anytime instead :-)

WHAT? Those are all classics!!!

Oh, yeah. Some real cheese going on. Loved the video, though and have seen most of those movies and enjoyed quite a few of the lines. Some pretty damn funny or memorable. The power of movies!!!!
Re: CH-Don't know where she came up with the spider monkey line, but it came out of Rob's mouth so I have to accept it. lol

Hee hee, I noticed Arnold had many of the lines....

Gozde said...

Okay Marna, I'm going to pretend I did NOT see that!

How can anyone hate Braveheart?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5w3ZENhUlDU

William Wallace: Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!

Oh gawd..am I the only one that cried over a ball floating away the first time you saw Cast Away? "Wilson, Wilson, NO!!! *sniffle*

How did I know there was gonna be a Madea quote in there somewhere?

"THERE WAS A FIRE-FIGHT!!!"<<best line everrrrrr

"You can be my wing-man anytime." "No, you can be mine."<<that's when that line changed meaning and became something to every gay man across the land.

Robert is gonna be so proud..that spider-monkey line was all his doing LOL~!!!

Most of the lines are cheesy but not all of them.

The spider monkey line just makes me cringe... and Braveheart is a movie I never get tired of!

Thanks Goz!

Marna said...

Sorry Goz, I just can't do it. The thought of having to watch Braveheart again just makes my skin crawl, and it's sooooo long too. Galaxy Quest, yeah that's what I really like, Galaxy Quest. :-)

That's funny bc I just finished watching Notting Hill today. Niiiice.

Since we are a weird family that walks around spouting movie quotes constantly..the youngins just wanted to throw some in there....

The 14 yr old: "Don't forget the pinchers. click, click,..click click"<<new Harry Potter

The 9 yr old: "You got me straight trippin' Boo"<<Bringing Down The House

The 4 yr old: "Did someone order a Hero?"<<Underdog

Is it just me or do Arnold Schwarzenegger and Keanu Reeves make up more than their fair share of that list?

Yeah, the "spider monkey" line was a little cheesy (I didn't hate it), but there are far worse ones out there. They need like 5 parts to this video to cover them all.

Robs Bitch said...

I like "spider monkey"! It's like the one time in the entire movie Bella giggles.

VeilsofLight said...

Hands down best movie line of ALL time: "I have HAD it with these mutha F*#&ing snakes on this mutha F*%#ing plane!!"

:)

And SO with you on Braveheart (and The Patriot, admittedly). Catherine McCormack is the most stunning, wonderful actress in existence.

VeilsofLight said...

And what? No "my own personal brand of heroin" or "you are my life now" mentions? Surely we can make more of the list than that? :)

Emily said...

And they should have just gone ahead and included Star Wars I, II, and III as a group entry.

I didn't think that part in LoTR was cheesy...makes me cry every time.

Susanne said...

I can´t stand Tom Cruise, but this scene from Jerry McGuire is one of my all time favourites!!!

"Spider monkey" cheesy? No way!!!

Cheeky Chops said...

Hahahahahahaha and VOL won it with THAT quote~!!!

crazy vamp said...

How about: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!..." ???

("Gone with the wind")

It is not cheesy, though... :)

holy crap! no evil dead trilogy quotes? nonono...no list of cheesy lines is complete without at least one. so disappointing. :P =D

Chicago Shari said...

Well I must like cheese, because some of these are amoung my all time favorite lines including "Hang on Spider Monkey". Nottinghill, Forest Gump. Rob is in some good company here.

Cheeky Chops said...

@PotRoast-"Gimme some sugar, baby"

"Hail to the king, baby."

LMAO ;p

Loisada said...

Hell no, they did not diss Boromir!

The spider monkey line is a whole different ball of cheese, but since Rob chose it, I'm thinking he was distracted by the legs wrapped around his waist at the time. Very cheese inducing...

I'll fess up and admit I've never seen Braveheart and am not in any hurry to do so. Give me Mel in the Year of Living Dangerously, but afterwards keep him for your lovely selves, please!

"groovy"

sweet bruce campbell-filled dreams, all.

Yeah, I don't really understand how the Braveheart quote is cheesy, unless it's used in some kind of joke out of context.

Wow, Arnold should get some kind of award.

And I think the only reason my husband likes watching Twilight is because he laughs so hard at the spider monkey quote! I sort of think Rob picked it just because it IS so cheesy.

Bisst said...

The scene from "Top Gun" was the chesiest of all. Definatelly!

Olia said...

*trolling*
Braveheart? Nothing against it, but, seriously... Lord of the Rings. Period.

I will disappear from the web 4 a few days waiting for Goz to cool off!

:P

I loved "spider monkey"! And Bella's giggle...cheesy or not, it was one my favorite parts in the movie. Although, every part that includes Rob, umm Edward, is my favorite part. :)
