I know the difference between Brazillian and continental Portuguese and I listen to fado quite often (to deepen depression I guess :)) and Madredeus is very popular here, I also listen to them passionately
I never watch daytime TV so only got to see Ellen when there was a link here for the first time Rob was on (when his parents were dancing) and then I taped it when Rob was on the next time. If I were to watch tv, I would watch her--she ran a good show. However, and granted i haven't watched her more than twice, it seems she is going for Rob;s look herself-- Look at the front of the hair, and layers with the shirts out?

I am brazilian and love Tom Jobim too. He is a great musician, brilliant and was such a beautiful man when younger just like Rob. Of course Rob is much more attractive.

I love Ellen. I always say she's got a 'thing' for George Clooney (kind of like Rosie ODonnell had the Tom Cruise thing before she went all bonkers on us LOL)
And after seeing both of her interviews with Rob, I swear he's her "#2"...in case things with the Clooney don't work out LMAO!

A verdade é que aqui no Brasil há grandes artistas, como os que você citou, mas nem todos são valorizados como deviam ser. Aliás o Jobim mesmo sempre foi muito discriminado por ser um homem bonito, inteligente, grande músico e fazer sucesso no exterior.
Há muitos bons atores também que deveriam fazer carreira fora do Brasil pois fariam muito sucesso.
