Who's your man? Loud and clear - Robert Pattinson!

Well leave EW.com a comment here... and of course... leave us a comment too!

Johnny, Matt, Leo, or RPattz: Who's your man?

For the record, I swear I will never again write the word “RPattz.” Blame it on the dizzying effects of the storm that turned the East Coast upside down on Saturday, ripping giant trees out by their roots. But you know what I mean: Depp, Damon, DiCaprio, and Pattinson all wanted you to choose them this past weekend, offering a quartet of movies that, taken together, might be read as the resting pulse of serious, mainstream American cinema. Which is why I’ve always had a particular fondness for springtime wide releases: They’re so content to be what they are. There’s no pretense, no great expectations. Spring movies don’t rattle their chains and bellow like summer joy-ride blockbusters; they don’t hustle for prestige (with the best of manners, of course) like autumnal Oscar bait. What you see is what you get.

And by that measure, Alice in Wonderland, Green Zone, Shutter Island, and Remember Me comprise a pretty classy assortment pack. (For the mainstream comedy alternative, add She’s Out Of My League.) Here’s Tim Burton’s family fairytale made by one of the medium’s most inventive visual stylists, starring one of the medium’s most interesting chameleons; Paul Greengrass’ distinctive action pic, incorporating essential information about current events; Martin Scorsese’s lavish construction of a big old spooky junky thriller; and dewy romantic mush that ends with the kind of howling tonal misstep that makes bad movies interesting.

When you look it at it that way: Cool! (And no one is angling for an award!)

So who was your man this weekend?

Oh, Robert Pattinson by a mile though Johnny Depp was a childhood crush and is still nice, but Robert just makes me melt with those pretty eyes of his and his wonder sense of humor. Robert doesn't think he is self important like some of Hollywood and I find that attractive.

Rob. I saw Remember Me three times in less than 48 hours.

In order #1 is Rob, then Johnny, then Leo, then Matt.

Rob was sex on a stick in Remember Me. His acting performance was pretty awesome too.

boy reading the comments on EW brings me back the Friends cast backlash when they got so popular. People are literally hating just to hate.

I choose Rob not just because I'm a fan, but because of the movie. I enjoyed watching almost everyone in the movie. It was a good story. It wasn't perfect, but what movie is.

As for the other three: The only movie I've ever liked Damon in was Good Will Hunting. I've never cared for Depp, for many reasons. I do love Leo but haven't managed to see Shutter Island in theaters because I prefer to see scary movies at home where I can pause

And as for the twilight criticism, I wish reviewers would all take into account the audience the books were intended for (even though many more love it), and I wonder how can they give an honest review if they have not read the books.

Liza Schwarbaum trying to suck up to Pattinson fans? You should read the comments on her review!! Way to go gals--but every once and a while someone says we are all just a bunch of crazy, lonely, lovestruck teenage, losers and then they get it from the fans too!
All day today I keep revisiting that first love scene between Rob and Emilie---then the scene where he comes back to the apartment and the scene in the hall-----so hot!!!!!

Go over there and give those creeps some kind news about our wonderful Rob - they are being mean over there about him. Don't be rude back - just state the facts about how great he is. I just did and feel much better for doing it and staying above the fray that is their rudeness.

Just to have Rob in the same group as Leo, Matt and Johnny is pretty cool - they all had movies out this weekend - Rob had quite a lot of competition. So I think RM did really well considering that.

Lisa Schwarzbaum at EW really does not like Rob - she's not very nice about it. I don't like her at all : ( She gave RM a D+

Rob deserves a chance that some people are not giving him - all those other guys have been around for a while and all had to start somewhere.

I started reading some of the comments on that site and had to leave. I wanted to go ape sh*t on their asses! People are ridiculous!

I love all of these men, but for me, Rob has the total package.

As much as I want to shout from the rooftops that Rob is so much better than all of these guys...I know there are people out there (not here) that would say, oh it's just because he's Edward Cullen, or just because he's so beautiful...and yes, that's part of it...but it's his TALENT and his SOUL that outshines all.

modestypatch said...

IMO all the Rob haters out there need a good f*ck.
They take themselves way to seriously. That's why I can't read comments on other sites It just irritates me and they do not deserve the time I waste by reading their comments.

They could learn a thing or two from all the NBs on this site about how to have some fun without have to throw hate around!

Go ROBsessed!

wow, the way LS is hating on Rob, you would think she was rebuffed by him. Just saying.

MMc said...

I'm glad some of you went over there and posted - I read the ones after mine.

I think most of the Rob haters are jealous of him. Some of them are young men who are jealous that Rob has "taken" the girls and made it impossible for them to measure up now.

Older men are jealous cause the older women feel the same way and they find it hard enough to get a woman without a younger mans' competition.

I really don't like it when they generalize about Rob's fans as all being tweens who are silly and ignorant and just like Rob for his looks.

Sure - I love his looks but there are tons of handsome men - none of them make me feel the way Rob does.

Someone once said - even bad press is good press. There were a lot of people posting over there at EW and almost every one of them mentioned Rob in some way so he may have lovers and he may have haters but he's sure stirring a lot of emotions in people who are talking about him.

Guess they will REMEMBER him!

Talent & soul, how right you are, rpg.

I wonder how much of the negative stuff is just a form of schadenfreude, you know, malicious enjoyment of others' misfortune, tearing down of the favorite, jealousy. Yeah, somebody is unhappy because somebody else is prettier, richer, more talented, nicer....

hey CL--how was RM the 5th time? did you notice more--can't wait to see it again

Unknown said...

Darn, I am so busy during the week, with the kids' spring break and all, I can't tear myself away from them until the weekend to see RM for the 3rd time...
For now, I have to keep watching many video clips which I tried to avoid before it opened. lol.

femroc, your comments totally echo my sentiments...well said, as well as many others here! :)

I keep thinking about RM all day, ever since I watched it, I can't get it out of my mind.
It really is unforgettable, such a fab job by all the cast, especially Rob, Emilie, Ruby, Pierce & Chris.

I keep replaying the scenes in my head over & over the coffee scene, Tyler & Ally's first meeting, the library scene, date/taxi scene, shower scene, first love making scene, Tyler's pedalling his bike scene (omg, he was so hawt!!!), the board meeting scene, angry sex scene (so sexxxxxxy)...the list goes on!
How can I wait till this Friday?
Maybe, I can go on Thursday, I will make it possible somehow, lol.

Those three guys are amongst my favourite actors... Johnny Depp was number one before I discovered Rob. Leo is a fantastic actor and Matt Damon is great. So, it's difficult to say and I'm trying to be as objective as possible...
It looks like a family portrait... the Dad, the uncles and the son... LOL.... I'll say, Johnny, Rob, Matt, Leo :o) No offense, just my point of view... We'll see if this changes once I've seen RM.

Janna: 'people...hating just to hate'. Yes, I was so nauseated reading the posts on that site I had to leave (like modesypatch). This is our happy place but out there it's vicious and I wasn't aware how bad.

Femroc: Great comments.
1)Film.com gave RM an A-, a lot more than any of the other guys' movies.
2)So many men are jealous of Rob. That is an understatement.
They cannot compete, and they know it, resent it, and bash Rob.

Fem, I couldn't comment 'over there', because my blood pressure has already skyrocketed having been exposed to what little I did read (one page). So, hats off to you for posting politely there. I would have blasted them and had a heart attack in the process.

I can't believe these people, who, because of anonymity, feel entitled to be ignorant, arrogant, to level vicious vitriol against a gentle, kind soul such as Rob.

Yes I think he's hotter than hot, but I also heart Rob and cannot bear such cruelty spewed at him. He's tough but sensitive and I hate to see him hurt.

Solas often brings up the golden rule and it's at times like these that I, too, think it pertains. Would any of these Rob-bashers, who callously and cavalierly try to hurt him, want that to happen to them?

Laurie: Yes, shadenfreude, big time.

By the way, someone from this blog could easily write a fantastic article about Rob, informed, articulate, fair and open-minded. Wouldn't it be great if someone here was able to publish the best article on him in a major publication? Main stream, respected.
(I'm ignorant of publishing processes but maybe one of you knows more.) I'd love to see that.

After I posted my comment above, I just realized I wrote it under the wrong thread. Are they spoilers?
If they are, I do apologize to those of you who haven't seen it or read the script...

Anyways, Rob is definitely my no.1, I don't want to watch other 3 actors' movies until RM stops playing at the theater.

I had a short term infatuation with Leo after Titanic. Now I think he's a great actor. I loved Depp's character, Jack Sparrow, so I was intrigued by him since then. I also think he's a great actor.
Don't care for Matt Damon. I did watch the 3rd movie of Bourne series though..

When I was a teenager, I had a few hearthrobs whom I loved back then, but Rob is the first obsession as I am older.
He is that SPECIAL!!

!!!!!!Warning!!!!!Warning!!!!!!!

It is very dangerous if you ask these questions.

Forces us never to make a decision between Rob and the other actors on this site !!!!!!!!!!! LOL

It will always be Rob.It is not fair to the other. Rob never can be compared with anything ;)

Petra Eller said...

I had to leave the comments on EW.com too.
It is indeed unbearable. Here on RobsesseD I've never read such evil words about "other actors. Although we make jokes, but never so bad and serious as they do on other sites. So stupid.
However, we are here all real Rob Fans , but we also have properly a lot of fun.;)

There's not only EW unfortunately... In France too, on the website of Premiere, they've compared the results of this week-end's US box office and are not ashamed to say that it's Rob's first defeat...
There are not too much haters yet.. A few people that are saying that you cannot compare Tim Burton and a little indie movie... They are freaking me out! Just don't see the point of bashing Rob that way... Probably the same people that used to say that Leo and Johnny were actors for teenage girls... What will they say when Rob gets an Oscar? Sorry? LOL... We were there from the very beginning and I hope he pays more attention to what we think... and I totally agree with you Heart-RobxD. We've had fun but never went that far in hating anybody...
Ok! Back to RL...

Wow!! didn't she do well. Mention Rob and wait for the sh*tstorm. I'll say one thing for RM it may not have done great at the BO but it sure as hell has got people talking, they're not neutral about it which I suppose is no bad thing for Rob

Yes, there's a lot of hate out there, but somehow we have to learn not let it get to us. Fame always attracts a lot of shit like that and it's true some people would really be happy if Rob failed. He got so famous in so litle time that it's difficult to understand for many people out there who still see him as the vampire from Twilight and know nothing else about him. That's ugly but it's not new. Leo, Matt and Johnny were also bashed in their time. In the long run, time will tell, and I think he's here to stay. As someone said, this is our happy place, but it's also good to know that out there there's a lot of very, very strong Twilight hate, you just can't imagine.

maha said...

I will choose Robert Pattinson for sure. He is so talented and able to convince you of the character he is playing, he is so emotional and has a very deep feeling makes you feel his feeling in every character he plays.

jc(britlover) said...

Robert! It'll always be him.

Athena said...

I actually love them all, as actors (maybe Matt Damon at the bottom of the list). They are all extremely talented, I think they all deserve the best roles and the best career.

Of course I have a softer spot for Rob, because, besides being gorgeous and talented, he also seems so candid and real!

So for me it's (as a whole package, not just talent):

1. Rob
2. Johnny AND Leo
3. Matt

Rob for me, every time. Love Johnny too, only not as much.

I have some comments for EW and LS, but I am too well brought up to voice them...

Why is Matt Damon an option? Seriously! What about Colin Farrel or Brad Pitt...lmao

Leo is an amazing actor and so Johnny, love them both!

Is this a joke?
Rob without doubt is my number one. He has some kind of old soul that love the most.

I doubt whether it will be any daredevil who dares to compete with him
pfft....
who cares about the others when it comes to Rob..;P

Jackief1 said...

I could't get past the first page of the EW thread...

All it seemed to be is a Rob hatefest! The worst part about this is that most of the people hating on RP never saw Remember Me!

I still haven't been able to see RM, my idiot theater here is not showing it, but I appreciate Rob for his acting skills and look forward to seeing it for myself!

Amelie said...

Last weekend I saw JD's "Alice in Wndrlnd" and MD's "Green Zone". They are good movies but didn't leave in me the desire to see it again. The first one is a remake of a child's story and the other one is about the WMD which we already knew to be a lie. But "Remember Me" remains in me long after I left the theater. I could replay the scenes in my mind over and over again.
I will shut off LcD's "Shutter Island" from my "list to see". Maybe when it comes in the DVD.

Only Rob has this effect on me.

Jane said...

Nothing, and I mean nothing is as good as Remember Me out of all of the movies now showing. Remember Me is a movie that I will long remember, in fact, going again today for the one o'clock matinee. The others have had their glory, it is now Rob's turn.

Rob, of course, this weekend and every weekend. I loved watching him in Remember Me, not just because of his good looks, that was the icing on the already perfect cake. My husband that saw the film too, and has a bit of resentment for my Robsession is man enough to admit Rob was really great in the role and the whole movie was great. I have great taste in men.
