@wens - you bring up a good point. I love Kill Bill I, II and that is exceptionally bloody. How do I draw a difference between those movies and a traditional slasher movie. I think it's the blood, gore AND the scary is what turns me off it. When I move TRIES to be scary by slashing is what I find scares me. Kill Bill is just bloody and I expect it to be. I dunno. Does that make any sense?

Late to the site, Oscar talk and I was watching. Loved Avatar, but watched Hurt Locker (on Demand) yesterday and glad I did! A great, riveting film and that Kathryn won for director and it won over Avatar for Best Film is amazing. I cannot argue with the choice.
Kristen looked lovely & appropriate, but maybe a little bling, if only with some earrings would have been nice.
