Sorry I can't read the article here,,, but it CAN'T be the same erroneous article that appeared in the NY Times here a few days ago? If so, that means that The Times in UK has fallen into the same sorry pit as the NY Times??? A billion dollar industry, such as what the Twilight world has become should at the very least be accurately reported.

Whatever happened to the days of accurate journalism... if the "Times" can't get it right, who can? The tabloids have new competition -- the established, traditional press.

I hope I'm wrong about this article, otherwise it is a truly sad day for journalism.

I despair of the British press, I really do...

Could they have written a more negative article if they tried?

I'm going to try and email them and voice my views...

I am well hacked off with this ...

I am in total agreement with Carole and Belladonna ... they have really slated Rob in this article and his acting abilities really and make him out to re real fed up with Twilight - we all know that isn't the case .. yeah I'm sure after the Press junket weekend with probably 100s of interviews he is a little "Twilighted-out" but there was no need to paint him in that sort of light! I always thought too that you could always trust the journalism of The Times but I am seriously starting to wonder after this one ......

This is sloppy journalism at its best. The role of Cedric Diggory was hardly a bit part and the comment that Daniel Radcliffe has been allowed to grow up in the role of Harry Potter is laughable. Daniel has been associated with one role for his ten most formative years and it is quite likely to be the millstone round his neck that will sink him. To repeat what nik said what makes movie stars is the fact that the rest of the world wants to sleep with them I reckon you could circle the globe with the number of women who want to do just that with Rob. Could that journalist not get up off his arse and write something original?

Not even gonna read it.

Awww - she said he had an "innate kindness" about him! We knew that.
This was a good article but don't like how they said he can't hold a movie outside Twilight and Remember Me was a failure!!!!! WHAT? Was not either - it tripled what it cost to make it - that is NOT a failure.

Rob thinks he'll be done with Twilight in 7 months?????? No, sorry, honey, you will most likely NEVER be done with Twilight.

One interviewer asked him if BD should be two movies - he never really said....so I think he'd rather it be one and get it over with. Though it will be sad at the end and they'll miss it........let's move on.

Rob's fans will stay with him no matter what he does.........Edward's fans might not.

I rarely EVER believe what's actually reported cause they always get something wrong.

Learned that when I had a journalist come to my place of work to get info for a story and I sat with them and spelled every name and pointed to each person in the picture and they screwed up EVERY one of them, mixed them up and wrong spelling!!!!
Couldn't believe it.

Don't we have a gif to show Rob's response to this article? I don't have a copy myself but I'm sure someone could post one....

So, on behalf of Rob's fan's, here's what we think of your article :

I think this is the third time I've said this in a week...

Take everything you read in print with a grain of salt, because words can be twisted and just like all of us here, you cannot see facial expressions or hear vocal inflections. Ergo; miscommunication.

But I did reread it because I think everything deserves a second viewing as you tend to see more the second time around and I do believe there is some truth here.

Actors are loath to repeat themselves and he's about to embark on his fourth go round as Edward Cullen (and you cannot buy into all the hype he has to spew about this franchise as he is under contract to do so and he really cannot speak his mind about what he's REALLY thinking about it all. His hands are tied as he's got to sell this thing). Combine that will all the "searing fame" that goes with it (a kind of fame he never sought) and yes...he's starting to burn out. And he's physically exhausted as well. Look at the crows feet starting to form around his eyes. He's 24 freaking years old for chrissakes.

HE NEEDS A BREAK! From Twilight. From Edward. From the press. From the papps. From the fans. From the spotlight and let all of this die, die, die. He needs to disappear for awhile, but I don't see that happening for at least another two years when he'll wrap this monster once and for all.

As for this teen idol tag that wants to drown his career... He's gonna survive it. For one simple reason...he's got talent. And it may take him a decade to overcome all of THIS, but he'll do it. He's just gonna have to wait it out. Because this franchise and this level of fame is an albatross around his neck because a lot don't view his fame as legitimate because it's exceeded his body of work. And now he's got an uphill climb to prove himself as an actor.

He'll make it. But it's gonna take some time. Unless the gods truly are smiling down upon him and he manages to receive critical acclaim BEFORE Twilight is through with his work in Bel Ami and Water For Elephants. But he's gonna have to be great, because the critics are gunning for him.

With Remember Me, more that half of them didn't even review his performance. They reviewed his celebrity.

I don't think there are many magazines or newspapers who can provide a really good interview with Rob. Inteviews with Rob should only be in videos i.e. in his own words. This article is only about a product with an apparently unknown shelf life (yawn) by someone who didn't research their subject and also didn't appear ask Rob any questions.

Rob only said 4 things here: about things getting a little boring, media exposure, not playing parodies, the lion and the manure in WFE and about the cast all having oscars. The rest is all padding by someone who sounds very envious - the dead giveaway is that they don't have anything good to say at all.

Nik? Are you there?

I saw your comment about Rob's crows feet. I've noticed that he's getting lines on his forehead. The Twilight makeup is pretty thick and guys aren't always careful about treating their faces gently. He's always going to be gorgeous, but I hope he takes care of himself.

Btw, he is supposed to be 17 (again!) in Unbound Captives.

My point made. They're gunning for him. And there is only ONE WAY to stop this in it's tracks; he must acheive critical acclaim as an actor.

And some will hand it over readily. Some begrudingly. And some never will.

Still here.

And something else that plays into the lines already forming on his face; the heavy lights that actors have to spend hours working under.
I think a lot of people are stunned when they see actors in person and to realize how lined they are because you don't see it so much on film and in photo shoots because of cinematograpy and air brushing.

As for Unbound Captives...

I don't think it would unusal of Phin to have lines on his face (even at 17) because he has spent years living out of doors in the sun. However...

When Rob was first cast in this, he was just a few months past 22 and there is no way he can film this until next spring when he finishes BD. And that would put him at nearly 25, nearly three years since he was originally cast as a 17 year old. I would think that if Madeline still wants him for the role (and why would she not?), it would add to the credibility of his now maturity, to add a couple of years to Phin's age. Make him 20-21 as oppose to a teenager. Also...

With his stardom at the level it is now (which it wasn't when he was first cast), I would imagine (if they're waiting for him) that they might have reworked the script to give Phin a bit more storyline. Not to hand the story over to him as this is Tom Dearborn's story, but...they can enhance Phin's storyline without taking screentime from Tom and May's story. I've already worked up a few scenarios as to how.

Marna, I guess Rob was too busy filming Bel Ami and now WFE to do photoshoots. Has he even had a week off since January?!

I completely agree with you Nicola6that Rob is not only going to survive the teen idol tag but he is going to mature into a Oscar level actor. I've been following WFE and I think he's going to stun everyone with his portrayal (ironically) of "Jacob".

Hi Nik,

RL intervened for a few hours. Hope you are still around.

With regard to actors - I've always noticed how lined theatre actors are - this profession is tough on the skin. No doubt, he looks wonderful right now, it's only just a few lines, but if he keeps doing back-to-back jobs with overlapping promotions his health will seriously suffer. Kristen's only 20 and I often see bags under her eyes.

As you say his work schedule seems relentless. I'm guessing that he'll be doing premiere and promotions for Bel Ami while somewhere in the middle of the BD 6 month shoot. Xmas and New Year will also fall across the middle of BD, but I can't see him getting a break to the UK there. Also, there will be an emormous level of attention on Rob and Kristen when they are filming BD - but at least he's got her and the cast to hang out with, although someone here mentioned 6 months of cabin fever in hotels.

If he's wise he'll take a decent break between BD and UC and then another very long break afterwards.

WARNING!
SPOILER BELOW IN ITALICS
ABOUT UNBOUND CAPTIVES!!!!!!!!

Nik, on a happier note - do you have any scenarios you can share about UC? Unless, of course, they're very personal. I've thought a lot about this too and imagined more emphasis on the relationship between him and Violet with kissing scene. I know that at the end there's a montage about Phin - after all Rob's baby talk recently, I'd love to see Phin and a baby in the same frame! Maybe, that just me being over the top!
