Where are these camera guys hiding? Do they have a "duck blind" or something? How far away are they? I just can't figure it out. I love to look at pictures of Rob as much as the next person but what is going on here? Do they even know these shots are being taken?

nikola6 said...

It is intrusive Ana and because they're on public land it would be a clusterfuck to try and stop them. Freedom of the press and all of that.

The best that we can do is stay away from the source sites. Just look at 'em here. If everyone on the internet is clicking on and downloading from the source sites, the price tag remains on his head.

But...for those that want the pictures to keep on coming? Run on over to those source sites. Keep on clicking and downloading.

Just let the blogs do it. There are enough of them that the papps will still make some money off of him. Just not as much.

Petra Eller said...

Damn. Can he even not learn text alone, and smoking a ciggi. Why is it 10 or more Pics.

Wow he looks SO serene in these pictures, and yes these look a little intrusive because it seems like he is not filming but more like taking a break. However this is the movie set, so it's not a private place.

Gah just look at him! He's simply beautiful, I just wish he didn't smoke. (I don't think I can take anymore new Robert pictures today! lol)

I can't wait for this movie!

Petra Eller said...

Does anyone know if there are many fans on the set lie in the bushes. Is it so crazy like in NY?

MMc said...

I hate that he smokes -kissing a smokey mouth is not sexy - sorry, but it stinks and tastes bad, unless you are a smoker too.

Plus it shortens your life and makes you look older than you are with wrinkles and ruddy skin. NONE of these things would I wish on Rob at all - we want him to be healthy and gorgeous for a long time..........so STOP SMOKING ROB!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE.

Ana73 said...

femroc - the smoking makes him look even hotter :)) i dont like kissing a smokey mouth either but i will never kiss him and he looks hot smoking, sorry dont agree with you on this one :))

heart - i read somewhere that 16yr old girl got arrested for hiding in bushes trying to take pics of him but she wasn't charged with anything they let her go.

Actually...

The movie set is private. It's the public land they're on that is not.

But when morally corrupt individuals are out to make a buck...they don't make that distinction.

And yeah, morally corrupt is not too strong a term. Because they're making their living by stealing pieces of another person's life. They are parasites.

Just when I thought this day couldn't get any better. Yes, it does feel a little intrusive in this instance because he's on a break and completely oblivious.

I don't like smoking and I've never smoked, but God he does look sexier sometimes when smoking. Maybe it's because we all imaging ourselves being that cigarette hes' puffing on. Oh sweet lips and long fingers...DIE

As for smoking...

Despite these health conscious times, you'll find more smoking on a film set than practically anywhere on earth. A majority of actors smoke. Especially the young ones. Alot of them quit when they have their first baby...and then, wander back to it.

A lot of your major (older) stars do too, but they go to great pains not to be caught doing it as they don't want to be JUDGED for it. I don't think Rob gives a shit.

Me either kid. I've been smoking for years. And my lungs are as clear as a bell. And I don't stink (in fact, I am always complimented on my scent). There are things called breath freshners and hand sanitizers and perfumes and aftershave.

And I've never been around a heavy smoker that smelled worse than someone who doesn't use deoderant.
Now THAT'S a pungent smell.

Nik: we're on the subject again on the "More RP backstage at MTV awards" thread. It's getting too hard to keep a good discussion running at one place!

I agree Ana, this veers into overly intrusive. These shots are too much for me. Won't go to the source and won't even click and zoom here. A quiet moment alone, with no one's eyes greedily fawning you.... seems like a basic human right to me.

How can a boy look that beautiful smoking a death stick?!

And I'm sure Rob would rather they took pics while on a film set than following him around on the streets trying to get pics!

On smoking - my dad was a lifelong smoker and died of lung cancer. Growing up with a smoker dissuaded me and my brothers from ever taking up the habit. I hope Rob stops sooner rather than later.

Petra Eller said...

@ Ana73
OK If there are only reports of this girl, then it is good. Perhaps it is then not so crazzy. This is Hollywood after all. The Master of FilmUnivers. They can make it right.

And believe me, I do understand about losing a parent to cigarettes. My mother died of lung cancer at just 36 (she was a five pack a day smoker). I was 2 weeks shy of my 6th birthday. But here's something I learned just recently...

For my whole life, I believed that if you smoked, you had a 90% chance of developing lung or throat cancer. Not true. Only 10% of smokers develop such cancers. Now THAT nearly took the breath out of me. This is the perception. Alot of people smoke all of their lives and never get sick. My aunt Rosa is 83, has been smoking since she was 16 and she's healthy as a horse. My mother died at 36. Go figure.

I think the illnesses we develop are more about what our bodies are suseptible to. Dana Reeves (Chris' widow) died at 45 of lung cancer and she never smoked a day in her life. Are any of you overweight with a sendentary life style? Well. You're staring down the barrel at heart disease, high pressure, diabetes and strokes. But we don't judge that in quite the same way, do we?

Yeah. I get a little defensive about it. It's like the social conscious has turned in such a way about smoking. People would rather have someone wipe a booger on their face than catch a whiff of smoke from standing 20 feet from someone with a cigarette in their hand. Hell. Humans have been smoking since the dawn of man.

Okay. Shutting up now. Lemme have it.

solas said...

Darn--I had hoped he had quit smokng. :-(

solas said...

debbi Downer warning- 87% of lung cancer cases are directly from smoking; 90% of esophegal and throat cancers are directly from cancer. That doesn't mean you have 90% chance of getting it but it certainly means it is the root of most illness. yes, people who do not smoke can get the diseases (13%, 10% for the cases above). But when you add all the other things it does to the body, including something as 'innocuous' as premature aging of the skin, t is just not somethng one should want loved ones to do. And the increased risk to health is substantial, as shown repeatedly in statistics and research- And the cell damage done, and the heart disease done, are biologically shown, not just surmised from statistics. --And those of us who have been aorund smokers for long periods of time are also at risk-- second hand smoke is also terribly harmful. Sure, there is a small percentage of smokers who do not develop lung cancer-- but why gamble--why take that rsk? how can it possibly be worth it????
and now back to your reguarly scheduled stuff.

LM said...

Rob is careful and smart about smoking in public. I hope he is cutting back but probably he is just being careful not to be seen smoking.

I grew up in a house with 2 heavy smokers but have never smoked myself so if second hand smoke is bad my lungs must be a mess too. My dad died at 57 from a heart attack he was convinced was caused by his years of smoking. His sister, who lived with us, refused to believe smoking caused her lung cancer. She tried to kill herself several times and didn't realize that she inadvertently succeeded. But she was a diagnosed schizophrenic and an alcoholic so who knows what she really thought.

solas said...

Sorry--I meant: 90% of esophegal and throat cancers are directly from smoking.

Laurie--my mother smoked 5 packs a day for over 40 years, and my father quit several times and then took it up again as it was too hard with my mother smoking, and he smoked 2-3 packs a day. All of my siblings and myself had terrible lungs; as teens when x-rayed due to chronc coughs, our lungs were shown to be blackened already. My mother died a slow death of emphesema and was on oxygen for 2 years before her death, and she had quit in her late 60s (lived to 80) but the damage was already done. All of my relatives that did not smoke lived to their late 90s to early 100s with very good health and total mental clairty; my relatives that DID smoke lived to 80 or so with terrible health for many years before that. Again, who wants to take that chance, that you would be the very very small minority whose health is not affected or life (quality and/or quantity)not diminished by smoking???

jmm4832 said...

Well, I started smoking at 15 and quit cold turkey at 30. I have had several relatives die of lung cancer and emphysema due to smoking so the genes aren't on my side. It's difficult to quit but not impossible.

I love new pics of Rob but this is just wrong. He is on set taking a break. He's working all day and deserves to have some peace while taking a break. They should do a better job protecting him.

I would go nuts if someone was following me taking pics all the time.

Great pictures! Love seeing Rob!
Hate that they are from Papz!
Production company should take pictures and release them to make money rather than the Papz!

GOROB said...

I am so tired of these paps invading his privacy! Why are these people not being caught on the set taking pictures!

Kate said...

I'm only getting a chance to catch up with the comments now :-}

Ok now this totally my 2 cents worth so you can take it with a pinch of salt if you like but I did think that people would say it's an intrusion but seriously think about it if he didn't want to be seen all he'd have to do is sit back further into the train and no one would be able to see him at all.

I "think" he knows that the paps are there and new pics everyday are publicity for the film.
That's totally just my opinion and you know if any pics are what we consider to be really intrusive we won't put them up! ;-)

Right I'm off to bed night ladies!

it looks like he is reading either a kindle or the new ipod. love it.

i actually thought he had given up smoking because i hadn't seen him with a cig during the bel ami shoot??? maybe since he is with kstew, he's back on the cigs. it is hard to quit when your partner smokes.

solas said...

I was wondering about that as well, cote.

nikola6 said...

Hmmm...
I know this thread is on the second page now and probably dead, but I gotta disagree with something...STRONGLY!

These papp pics have absolutely nothing to do with publicity for the film. This film is not in publicity mode yet. It is in production. And when it comes time for publicity, FOX will mount a campaign that it will CONTROL! These pics are being taken for one reason...to feed the internet crowd. The rabid Rob Pattinson fans who crawl all over this internet looking for any new image, any new soundbite and new snippet, and new anything about him. Those outside the Rob bubble, ya know, the rest of the world, the rest of the population that FOX would love to sell this film too (and they don't gotta sell it to the occupants of the bubble...were there), they don't know no one thing about these pics. No, they are not being taken to publicize the film AND film studios don't want papps on their film sets stealing pics. You know why? Because they don't want their actors and crew disturbed and they don't want any plot points given up and they worry that intrusive photos could capture something doing just that. Hasn't anyone listened to Rob talk about what went on in NY during Remember Me? And why should he have to hide inside that train car on his break? It's hot here in LA and I would imagine alot hotter inside that train car than it would be sitting outside of it. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SPEND ANY PART OF HIS BREAK HIDING FROM THESE BASTARDS. THEY DON'T FUCKING BELONG THERE!!!

A few years back, Hugh Jackman, Ewan MacGregor and Michele Williams were filming on the streets of Madrid. A murder mystery. And some jackass Ewan MacGregor fan took a camera phone and stood across the street and filmed the scene being shot and then sent it all over the internet. And you know what the scene was? Jackman's character attempting to kill MacGregor and Williams' character suddenly walking into the frame and killing Jackman. It was the climatic moment of the film, a murder mystery with a twist at the end, and there it was...all over the internet. No...studios do not want UNSANCTIONED photos taken by anyone being stolen off of their film sets. Don't rationalize that this is for publicity. It's not. It's to feed the internet.

As for Rob's smoking. I don't think we can put this one Kristen.
She said in the HB interview that she was going to quit because "smoking was not in her bones." If anyone is influencing anyone to continue smoke here, I'm gonna bet it's him influencing her. And yes, it is hard to quit when your partner hasn't.

How did this thing about him quitting get started anyway? 'Cause he said he used nicorette on long plane flights and then nobody saw him smoking on the Bel Ami set? And from THAT the conclusion was jumped to that he quit? And now disappointment to discover that he hadn't?

Huh?

solas said...

Nikola, yes, in part it was the use of the Nicorette, n part because we had not seen photos of hmself smoking in a while, and in part because he paranoid about a lot of threatst to his life and this is a big threat, and in part because he is a smart boy and the smart thing is to never smoke, or to quit if one has started. And snce we see photos of Krsten smoking, even though she did indeed say it wasn't herself (to be a smoker), I personally had thought it was harder for herself and that he had quit, but seeng this photo I thought perhaps he had started again, being around her again, or that he had not totally quit. But I certainly constantly truly hope they both (and really the whole world!!!) would totally stop smoking.
