I think Rob is loving the red lately and why not it looks SO good on him!

Robert Pattinson was decked out in Stussy gear for a meeting in LA yesterday with Dreamworks's Jeffrey Katzenberg. The Twilight actor had time off from working on Water for Elephants, but Rob still wasn't able to leave town to promote Eclipse.

Honestly Rob, are you TRYING to kill me? You do realize if you keep showing up in red, there's not going to be anyone left to buy tickets to your movies, right?

LOL at ravishing in red! Oh Kate, that's the truth. :)

RTP_KJS_Lover said...

Why, why am I not still in LA?

This man can wear any color he wants and be the hottest man ever. Mustard, Maroon, Red...FILTM!

@Slutty--Gah! The bottom lip is killing me.

Agree with Cullen Lover...he can wears anything and still look hot...

Is that the same shirt he had on in RM. Has anyone heard of how many DVD's for RM were sold? Rob is really maturing as an actor and I hope to see him on the big screen for a long time. It just does my heart good.

Katzenberg.... hmmmm? What project is in development here? Anyone have an inside line on this? Time to get the shovels out and dig ladies!

More big budget opportunities. There can be no doubt now: Hollywood is sold on Rob. Bet they're fighting over him like sharks, hoping to line up his next few filming availabilities. By the time Rob has a chance to take a break, we'll all be old and gray! Don't know if that makes me happy (yeah, more Rob screen porn!), or sad (he's gonna work himself to death).

Rob, you know who I really want to see you working with? Jack White. Do it!

I hope Rob takes a little break between films. I don't believe it's healthy for him to do back-to-back movies without a break. Who knows though, he's only 24 and probably has a lot of energy.

Red is a very passionate color. What ya thinkin' about, Rob?

Steph is Legit said...

@jmm

i agree with taking a break, but maybe he really likes working. I could never find myself feeling bad for celebs. Most actors and actresses make a film a yr (if that) they film for 2-3 months and promote for another two and are then off 6-7 months out of the year, but not rob. he has a really good work ethic. I do think that out of anyone he deserves a break, but i think he is just anxious for movie roles and ways to keep himself current.

nikola6 said...

No, I don't think Katzenberg is involved with WFE. I'm with Loisada and guessing that he's taking a meeting for a future project.

And yeah, Hollywood is sold on him.
There isn't a producer in this town that wouldn't consider selling their firstborn in order to get their hands on Rob.

And did any of you catch that vid where the Summit brass stood at the front of that black carpet and waited there to greet him? They stood there and waited for HIM! If THAT wasn't a show of respect for where he now stands. That impressed the hell out of me.

nikola6 said...

Agreed Steph...

As Harrison Ford once said about acting..."it sure beats working."

As most do a film a year, but in Rob's case...

By the time he wraps BD next spring, that will be seven films in just two years (you have to count BD as two with an extending shooting schedule) and THAT is an extrodinary work load. And he is exhausted (you can see it with those crows feet already). But I think he's trying to get as many films in the can as he's able before he does take a break.

This is his opportunity. He let the first brass ring go by when he didn't capitolize on his role in the Potter franchise. He's not letting this opportunity go by.

As for the crows feet and fatigue on his face...a good rest and it will all be wiped away. But I don't see that rest coming for at least two years. No point in stepping away from the business until he is through selling Twilight.

@nik

I get the whole "strike while the iron it hot" thing. If I were him I would do the same thing to keep my name relevant and establish myself, but rob is already established. His work ethic is admirable, but at the same time everyone needs some rest. He may be 24, but it doesn't mean he can't suffer from exhaustion. I just think we as fans worry about his health.

PrettyBrownEyes said...

[sigh]
Damn I envy that Nestea Can.

nikola6 said...

I worry about him too Steph. And if he keeps going like this for another couple of years, then yeah, I can see him landing in the hospital with a case of exhaustion (which btw in Hollywood is code for 'breakdown' and not just physical).

But...I think he's going for it. He knows whats happened to him happens to very few actors. When you consider that 95% of the screen actors guild does not work enough to even call them themselves actors. Then you take the 5% that does and break it down;

* actors who work here and there who are never known by the public

* character actors who work but again, public doesn't know them

* character actors who do become known to the public

* B stars in films and tv; they have a bit of fame while their show or movie is hot and then they slip back into obscurity

* your major stars in both films and tv. they are certainly stars but they are not sitting atop that top rung of the ladder

*and finally, your superstars; the leading FILM stars of one's generation.

Rob is on the cusp of that. One financial and critical hit beyond Twilight...and he's there. He's thisclose. And what has happened to him is a miracle. You got a better chance of winning the lottery than you do of becoming an A-list leading actor/star of your generation.

It only happens for a very, very, VERY few. A tiny, tiny, TINY percentage of actors ever achieve this kind of stardom. And it came to him so young. Like Cruise, Roberts, Depp, DiCaprio before him. Where they got roles that sent them into the stratosphere and because of their talent...kept them there. Hollywood thinks that Rob is in this same catagory. That he too can be a star of that same caliber.

The question is? What kind of stardom does he want? At the moment it looks like he's simply trying to establish himself. What he does with it then? Anyone's quess.

RTP_KJS_Lover said...

I see you Shoelace Bracelet...

@Nikola--It was so GOOD to finally meet you! Wish we could have stayed longer. I look forward to the next time. Thanks for showing RPG, thedessertfirt and Loisada such a good time. :-)

nikola6 said...

Oh. And Steph...

A lot dismiss his fame, his stardom as illetigimate because it comes from Twilight. Something that a lot perceive as simply 12 year old screaming girls. And as soon as they stop screaming...he's over.

He's out to prove that is not true. Hence...film after film. Hoping that one will hit beyond Twilight.

Thanks CL...

I'm so sorry I was late. I still haven't gotten over that I didn't get to spend time with you guys. A few minutes in the lobby didn't quite cut it for me.

Next time...FOR SURE!!! I'm thinking Comic Con 2011 as they'll be no "tent city" for days and days. We'll stay right next door in a lovely hotel and only have to camp out the night before.

And yeah, it was fun with the girls. I sure wish you could have stayed and hung out with us. Our room at the Chateau got upgraded to a BUNGALOW and there was more than enough room. Hell, when Rob's there, he stays in one of the suites which is not quite a bunglow. HA! (she says with her nose in the air). Yeah. We thought we were pretty special. LOL!

And even going out to the set was fun. And that's cause we were a million miles back. Any closer and I would have been sick. Did RPG tell you that he waved at us? Although I'm not so sure. He might have been shooing us away. I didn't see.

Anyway...glad to have met you. Wish it could have been longer. Oh and everybody...CL is gorgeous. And so is Modesty. I mean, bee-u-ti-ful gorgeous. And well hell, there wasn't a mutt in the bunch.

No doubt about it, we were really flying high there for a few shining moments. Hell, we certainly had room in that bungalow to tuck both Rob and Xavier comfortably away, and Rosie too! And the bell hop why we're at it, cuz he would fit right in! And yep, I wanna live there too!

AP: thanks for the thanks... Wish you could have joined in the fun!

Meeting with Dreamworks is definitely a good omen. I can't wait until someone ferrets out which project they're discussing.

Cheeky Chops said...

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but that man looks p!ssy to me. Plus, Robert is looking a bit chagrined. Of course, it is just a tiny second in time.

Steph is Legit said...

I'd love to see rob do an animation film, but dreamworks doesn't just deal with animation.

Some well known dreamworks productions are:
Minority Report w/Tom Cruise
A Beautiful Mind
American Beauty
Saving Private Ryan
Catch Me If You Can

I am thinking he is doing something along the lines of the above over animation.

Thanks Loisada...

I didn't see your post and that's because there are just too many of them. Brain overload. Not that I'm complaining. No siree. But with the pics and vids coming so fast, it's hard to keep up with them or each other.

But...you are most certainly welcome. I'm just so glad you could break away from RL and come play with us. And I'm a thinking...since were not that far a part...let's do it again. I'm not kidding. I'll book us another room THERE ('cause I wanna live there) and maybe we'll do the set thing again.

I was perfectly comfortable with it 'cause we were so far back. I just wanna catch a glimpse of Rosie before they pull that big top down.

What you say? I'll e-mail okay?

Nik: I should be working but sitting here in 7th heaven because Rob said on an earlier thread that Godard's Prenom Carmen is his favorite "romantic" film.

He has such wide knowledge of the classics and avant garde fare, and such great taste! I am dying to see him work with a director who is real, fiery artist. Are you listening Almovodar? You love pretty boys, and Rob would be absolutely fantastic in one your films, just sayin!

And Nik... anytime, sweets, anytime!

And Kazenberg: big budget isn't enough, do you really have a script out there fine enough for Rob? No... well no wonder you look a little pissy! He doesn't need your money, he needs edgy fantastic projects.... can you poney up?

Hey Nik *waving*

Speaking of Rosie, I know you don't twadle but Rosie has her own Twitter, Rosie_Elephant, she is a hoot!

She just commented on Rob looking so tired. She said she didn't know how us humans could not nuzzle him when he looked so tired. B/c she does? She wants to know if she is in love.

BTW - she also copped to stealing the Stoli shirt out of his duffle bag. lol

If you have a Twitter and want a good laugh, check Rosie(Tai)out.

TotallyRobbed said...

I didn't know who Jeffrey Katzenberg was - I had to google/wiki his work.

I'm all for Rob doing an CGI/animation role, it means he can grow a beard, dress sloppy and not take the stress. And what would his character be?

Wow, all these people coming after Rob. Soon Spielberg will be after him - now he could definitely get a magical performance from Rob.

I hope this project with Katzenberg is a long way off. He's got so much work lined up. It's not just filming, it's all the promotions and junkets, in the end everything will overlap ...

nikola6 said...

@HeartThePretty...

Oh crap. RPG was gonna show me how to twaddle but we forgot (too busy being dazzled by our surroundings I spose). But Rosie's twaddling too huh? Well...hmmm...guess it can't be that bad if Rosie's doing it. Now I'm really gonna have to twaddle up. After that one shot of her in her tiara? I am in love. She's the only 'team'
I'm willing to join. I'm gonna find me a plain baseball cap and take it to the mall and have them put "TEAM ROSIE" on it. I mean it.

And yeah Loisada...
He mentioned Prenom Carmen over a year ago and I knew then...this kid's got some wheels turning in his head. You gotta understand cinema to get Goddard. And then I heard that he was reading 2666 by Bolano and I thought...'my beautiful boy really does have brains. He thinks'. And the idea that a man this beautiful was also this intelligent, well...my brain exploded.

And here I sit...with an exploded brain and an exploded...uh...well...you know. LOL! And a man who can explode both your brain and your...uh...well...you know. THAT'S the man for me.

And we'll do it. The Chateau, the garden for brunch and the set again. I just can't wait to go back there. The hotel I mean. And the set. That'll be fun too. If I can keep from stepping into another sink hole again. What an idiot.

TotallyRobbed said...

Loisada & Nik:
That's another reason why Rob's a true original - when people ask him his favourite books, films or directors he always replies with something that's not obviously mainstream. He's a great role model because fans look up the his references although his taste is definitely R-rated!

Nik:
Sounds like you had a great time with the girls. Were you too nervous to look when you were on the set?!

Anonymous said...

I agree Kate, "ravishing in red", lol.

Robert he does look a little chagrined here. I wonder if he's in a meeting for a new movie? I just hope that it will have a good storyline, and that it will not be the run of the mill supsence/thriller movie. I hope that it will have a strong romance storyline, or an animated movie (that would be too cute if he lent his voice to it), or just a good story like WFE, for a change.

I also think that he needs a break, this beautiful man is working too much.

captain said...

haha Nik,

And a man who can explode both your brain and your...uh...well...you know. THAT'S the man for me.

That's precisely what it is! You always have such a way with words.

Love it!

@Nik- *blushing* Thanks. And right back at ya!

Come on Dreamworks, offer him a role worthy of an Oscar!

LM said...

Nik-- I did get your email and sent a couple back to you. Sorry it took so long. I hadn't checked my mail for a few days.

RPG--I did see him in between those tents. Thanks for sharing your amazing experience.

In a couple of years Rob will probably be producing movies instead of acting in so many. He strikes me as a hard worker and very ambitious. He's smart and getting more savvy.

Had to laugh at the movie review in our newspaper. Two huge pictures of Taylor one small one of Rob with Kristen (meadow scene). What is up with the Jacob emphasis? Don't they realize that it is Rob that is driving this machine? Or is Summit trying to get two super male stars out of it? I don't get it.

nikola6 said...

Totally Robbed...

Nah. I wasn't nervous being there at all and that's because we were too far back to be any kind of an intrusion. Had we been able to get closer, I would have hung back by the car. Had Rob left the set and driven by us on that backroad, I probably would have turned and fallen head first into that sink hole. That is unless...

I would have spotted Rosie. Then I probably would have run hell bent for election for that set, running right past Rob to get to her. I'm serious. I've always had a thing for elephants and she's just so beautiful. And girly. And...well...there's just this daintiness about her. And Rob better watch it...

'Cause I think that little girl could steal the picture right out from under his nose. But something tells me, he wouldn't mind. As for that sink hole...

I just wasn't looking. Not an unusual occurance for me. **rolls her eyes**

I wish you all could have a chance to go out there and just peek. No intrusion. Just being nearby enough to see them in the distance and to hear the filming going on. I remember as we pulled up and I first spotted the big top from the freeway, I admit it, I got excited. It's just sitting there in this tiny one horse town in the middle of a big field. And another thing...

Loisada and I came to the conclusion that they just might not have to go into the studio for the interiors because they were shooting them right inside that big top that they'd erected. We could hear them filming from the road (the circus crowd roaring). And so...that could streamline production and he could be done sooner than I'd originally thought. Although...

Not sure they could film all the interiors on location. Wouldn't the interior of the train require a studio set? I dunno. And...

Without giving up a spoiler, according to that script, unless they're going to recreate it on a soundstage, they're gonna have to go to NYC 'cause one VERY important scene takes place on a world famous landmark. And thankfully, far away from prying eyes. So...we shall see.

nikola6 said...

Laurie...

I'll check the e-mail. Thanks.

As for Taylor...

It's all about the body. That is what the interest is in him. That is what is fueling his stardom. Remove that six pack from his body and what have you've got? A Disney kid. And don't get me wrong. I like Taylor. But he's not the original that Rob is which is why he'll most likely be more accepted by the masses who don't require originality from their stars. They just want them to be hot. And Taylor fills that requirement. Rob is hot too, but in a different way. He's the thinking woman's hot.

And too...the media persists in the idea that all of this is being fueled by little girls. And so...they're serving up what they want...Taylor. And since they're not acknowledging as much the women in the audience (Rob's audience), at times it looks like he's getting slighted attention wise.

But worry not. Because of that adult female audience, Rob is going to be a star far beyond Twilight. Of that I have no doubt.

Loisada said...

Nik... the idiot may have been the one who parked the car with your door right above a sink hole?

BTW some of the ladies out in that field were convinced they saw Rob waving at us. Nik says he was probably shooing us away, but I say he was trying to keep his own cool by not letting so much temptation get any nearer. Smart boy! (Knows a wicked good time when he sees one)

HeartThePretty_EvenMore said...

@Nik -
'Rob is hot too, but in a different way. He's the thinking woman's hot.' ITA! Thank you! I wish they would realize that we are not all '12 years old'. The key word is 'woman'. Yes, he will be hot beyond Twilight.

WFE set question, I saw the set in the early days between Fillmore and Santa Paula. Same place? or did they move toward Piru? Just curious.

Loisada said...

♥thePretty: it's in Piru now. They look to have pretty much abandoned the Fillmore set, unless they've got more railway shoots down that way.

LM said...

OK, Yeah, well that makes sense to me. I married my husband for his brains--he is nice looking but not handsome. His brains on the other hand are amazing. By the way my 91 year old mother is Team Jacob. I could not believe that travesty. She has not read the books or seen the movies she just liked the body (as you said Nik).

oldcoach said...

Dreamworks is set to film The War Horse and they have an unknown in the lead. A "Rising Star" candidate from the Shakespeare company. The role would have been perfect for Robert. I would think they have several projects lined up and using Robert could be beneficial to all parties concerned. What I am waiting for is him to work with Ron Howard's company and maybe Tom Hanks. Just a thought

nikola6 said...

@HeartThePretty...

And with all of the media outlets picking up that premiere, what did they hear (even more than see)? Right. GIRLS screaming. And so...that perception will persist.

I'm waiting for someone, somewhere (maybe after this thing is finally concluded) to do an indepth article on the phenomenon known as Twilight. To see it for more than what is just appeared to be on the surface...a teenage phenomenon. That there were women 20, 30, 40 or more years older than Rob Pattinson who fell for him like a ton of bricks. THAT is what I think the true phenomenon here is. Because it doesn't happen often and when it does? You wind up with a star who's going to be a leading man for the next 25 years.

And without this reaction to Mr. Pattinson, yes this still would have been a pretty big deal because you still would have had those screaming girls and their TWI moms (who love Edward), but you would have ended up with more a High School Musical meets Daniel Radcliffe and we wouldn't be looking at the next great leading man of Hollywood who's being compared to James Dean and Marlon Brando. Just my opinion.

And you really think he was waving at us Loisada? I suppose it's possible. There were just a few of us there (as oppose to the crowd at the other end) and maybe we were more visible from that set. I dunno. It's nice to think that he did.

MsTaurus14 said...

I know this is off topic of what's been talked about on this thread, but...what does that "shoelace bracelet" suppose to represent, sometimes he wears it and sometimes he doesn't, and I think Kristen wears one at times too. Jus' wonderin'.
