Rob is in good company :) And People Magazine knows his fan base is beyond teens. "No matter what age ladies always love a sensitive vampire"

Well, it's almost weird to see Efron and Rob on this list considering the other names (not that I am not glad for Rob!!! I only don't know Mr N°4...). In a way, it's a statement to how People magazine thinks that they could reach lasting stardom, right? We'll see if they are still on it in a couple of years (*crossing my fingers for Robby-boy!!!*).

Efron has been famous for longer than Rob (Well, I did not know who he was 6 month ago, but the kids, especially in America, have known him for some time), so I guess that's why he's N°9. We'll see if he can turn from Disney star to global star though.

Efron before Rob? Well, its teen idol. I think Rob fanbase is alot more then the teens...

Good morning, girls.

Well, I understand James Dean and Johnny Depp in this one; even Elvis the pelvis. But, come on, the others...

Rob is so much more than a teen idol. Damn hot man!

'Rob, lover, have a wonderful sunday!'

Guys, Efron is before Rob because his teens movies were done before. So, he is older in this teen´s crush list.

I forgot Travolta was there too. I like him. He always seems to be having so much fun in his movies. Yes, it is ok that he is on that list.

There are a couple people on here that seem out of place. What's the criteria they used to come up with this? Teen idols fade. But most of the people on this list had careers beyond teen idol. The jury is out on Zefron but we already know that will be true of Rob!

@Sophia Z.86: You understand James Dean, Elvis, and Johnny Deep, but what about MJ? do u really think that Michael Jackson doesnt deserves to be on the list? He SHOULD be on the top #1, he sadly has lots of haters, but you just can't imagine how huge his fanbase is compared to the haters...from 6yo kids to old people are inconditionally with him! :D

Respect Rob...we'll see in some time how he'll be before Efron and others!! <3

Alba, hi, good day for you.

You know, I can´t get away from the image I have of Michael Jackson today. That weird and bizarre creature that he turned himself in. But, you may be right, back there in the 80´s he was still normal and, possibly, interesting...

I think everyone on the list deserves to be there and is spot on. It's true that most have grown after being "teen idol"s and their idol status is all ages but they WERE/are teen idols :)

I'm wondering why they missed David Cassidy, all of the Beatles and all of the Monkees and I know there are others, too like New Kids on the Block, etc. :(

Yeah - that's what I meant Chica! Would be a hard list to narrow down. A couple people I LOVE but just wonder how they outranked some others... who didn't have a satin hat or jacket and posters of David Cassidy back in the day? I was a little young for it but that was my first memory of a "teen idol" and he was huge. I agree Alba and Sophia on MJ - it's tragic what his image has become.

Yes, Twi~
Funny that Rob's screaming fans are always compared to Beatles' moments, yet they are not mentioned? And anyone who has studied the history of rock knows that there were often Beatles versus Monkees contests and in the US, the Monkees often won!

Yeah, those David Cassidy posters...his half-brother Shaun was pretty popular, too.

Sophia~A couple of years ago I rode back from the airport here in LA in one of those share-ride vans ($50 bucks but still better than leaving your car at the airport) with one of Michael Jackson's money people. Traffic was miserable and the ride was long so we all talked a lot. He said he felt sorry for Michael, that the perv rumors were greatly exaggerated (though we know MJ is eccentric) and that Michael will survive financially.

This is not about music idols.

Read the thing, they are using movies as the criteria, Jackson just scrapes in due to one movie & videos.

I thought it was a pretty good list/assesment, I had forgotten all about Rob Lowe he was once gorgeous.

Travolta & Depp are my faves, plus Dean. And of course Rob is the sexiest of them all.
Elvis has a similar nose to Rob.

Kespax~Monkees film: "Head." Beatles films: "Hard Day's Night," "Help."

Aha, of course - guess they are just going for solo artists, mainly movie stars, some have music careers.
Groups just didn't get a mention because they are so many and so commonly cause teen frenzy.

However I would catogorise across the board as the top teen frenzy causes -

Probably Sinatra, that old bobby sox footage you see looks crazy40s)
Elvis (50s)
Beatles (60s)
(70s/80s/90s slot a mixture in, the world was fickle, and nobody was as iconic for long - or can you suggest lust objects?)

Robert Pattinson.
He's the only actor to make the list if you ask me, and he has a musician in him, and a musician vibe so he makes us as ga ga as a rockstar icon.
