Robert Pattinson Singing in How To Be

I am removing the videos per How To Be's request. I thought it was a good promotion, giving people a taste of what's in this great indie movie but they are right in saying that the footage looked like it was taken by a camera at the movie theatre and did not do justice to the film they spent years making.

You can order the HTB soundtrack now.

For more news on How To Be visit the movie's official page where you can find the dates of the screenings for the movie.

Starting on April 29th How To Be will be available on demand from IFC Festival Direct.

He looks so small up on stage in the spotlight!

I love how he's singing in character.. his accent is much more pronounced in these clips...

This WHY I keep posting and questioning that there would be a "How to Be" soundtrack with Rob featured on three tracks!!!

Ridiculous!

CJ said...

As someone else said, he is singing in character in these clips. I wonder if the songs on the soundtrack will be sung by Rob or Art? Very interesting!

TwiHartRK said...

That's a good question CJ! I heard shades of his real soulful voice. My impression is that is what this character is - kind of buried in himself. It must have been hard to sound 'bad' without sounding completely spastic. Isn't it great how everyone says "AWWWWW" when he gets the thumbs down? They root for Art and his craptastic "singing". He really makes Art believable and lovable in these clips.

I hope fans won't buy this cd. In my opinion this is just someone else using Rob's name to sell a product. So many people will not be able to understand the fact that this is Rob singing in character as Art. I'm sure he isn't getting one cent for this cd. All he's going to get is ridicule.

Those were so funny! He really is good in comedy! I hope I get to see this someday soon. Seriously, he really can do no wrong...

Heather

PS - That drummer was cracking me up!

Wow, those are my videos. I recorded them in the HTB Chicago screening. I had them in youtube for a day and then youtube removed them and closed my account. I guess someone copied them while they were up. Interesting!

Thank you, Goz! These will have to tide me over until the damned DVD comes out.

Even if you haven't seen "How to Be," if you watch these three clips, you now have seen the extent of Rob as Art singing in the film.

I so wish the director had shown up last Saturday (as promised and promoted) to the LA premiere screening I attended. I would've loved to ask him how these three "songs" (using that word loosely) could be on a "soundtrack" and just what Rob thought about that?

I believe the director who just recently put together a soundtrack did so to capitalize on Rob's name.

So, once you see these clips, now you know the songs. Honestly, I'd skip the soundtrack and get the DVD when it comes out. Rob is great as Art in the film and very funny.

To the Chicago person who filmed these vids.---thanks and where was the screening held? Just curious!

Chicago Girl ~ The screening was March 8, they showed the movie as part of the CIMMfest, at the Chicago Cultural Center downtown.

OMG I can't see them. I"m having trouble with any videos that are from somewhere else. (can't watch myspace videos either).
Just searched for them and they don't come up. Does anyone have an idea how I can see them?????

I just can't even express how much I loved this movie. It's by far my favorite of all his movies. He was so great in it. Art just makes my heart hurt a little bit.

I want to see the movie. I heard ROb once say that he thinks he sings much better in real life than Art does. I think it's lame they are trying to push the singing from this film, especially if it's not proper representation of him.
