They Tracked Rob Down

These 2 ladies flew from Nashville,TN and Columbus, MS for the sole purpose of meeting Rob AND they tracked him down last night at Rio(100 Monkeys Concert)!

When I picture Vancouver in my head right now I have images of women running around at nights with their cell phones, coordinating to track the stars down :) It's a funny/interesting image.

You can read more on their story here.

Thanks to bchbunni2 for the link :)

The image in your head made me laugh Goz but you know I'm afraid it might not be that far from the truth! :-0 Scary thought

Yikes! All three of them look cookoo in this pic...

Melissa said...

True that, Kate! I don't think I would fly across the country to stalk a celebrity. It just seems weird IMO.

Divinesally said...

HA! that's a funny mental image Goz....

but also rather creepy o_O

Melissa said...

Oh, and when I say weird I mean like "meds and a padded" cell weird. Ok, that was a low blow, but shit, you know how expensive it is to fly!! LOL

eeeek

One of the ladie's husband won free airfare tix so he gave it to her and she could take her friend with her. I do believe though they checked into either at the hotel where the cast stays at or close by...that part is IMO a bit creepy. But the airfare was apparently free

Kate said...

Ya Mel it's getting a bit crazy alright isn't it:-?
I mean it's one thing if you already live there but gosh flying THAT far to on the off chance run into him, although I guess they made sure it wasn't down to luck that they ran into him! ;-)

Well, I used to stalk the pizza guy at my local mall...but I worked there and walked past him everyday! How must you feel getting on a plane to stalk movie stars in their late teens and early 20s? And what about at customs when the dude asks, "What brings you in the country?"

Melissa said...

Ok, well if the airfare was free then whatevs. It just seems so creepy to me...especially if they stayed at the same hotel-or close by. IMO, thats taking it a bit too far...and borderline stalking. Sure I would LOVE to meet him, but I would never go to such lengths. It's just strange to me. Now a days with all these crazy celeb stalkers, you just never know.

Stacy said...

Um .. I'm guessing these women are roughly my age (32) and am I the only one that thinks it's ... kinda pathetic that they left their husbands (at least one) to fly across the country to track down a celebrity? It just makes it that much creepier because they are older, IMO.

Anonymous said...

I agree...very creepy. I'm all about obsessing from a-far (via a blog) but it takes a creepy obsession to fly to another country.

If I encountered him I don't even know if I'd bother him to talk or take a pic or anything. I don't want to be "that creepy person"

Goz - Very funny image.

Vancouver is a VERY laid-back kind of place and all this fuckery is probably tilting it on it's side.

elainnie said...

I saw this in the paper. Her husband gave her the plane tickets that he won in a golf tournament. She is 29. How lucky! If I went to Vancouver he would be in England. lol Rob is a doll!

Sara said...

Aww, props to the cast for not freaking out over this.
I'd be massively overwhelmed/a little bit scared if I was him.

And that article was hilarious. They made it all sound like a military operation. ;p

dh feeding the robsession? damn guess he knows the old saying:

don't care where you go for your appetite as long as you come home to eat

of course, i would be trying to lineup for the all you can eat rob buffet...lol

I don't mean to be rude, but all this set stalking, encounters in random bathrooms, and bringing copies of the book to clubs--for cast members to sign--is ridiculous. It's giving the fandom a very bad name.

Settle down people. Just be cool and settle down.

A bit disturbed by this story. I think this crosses the line from an innocent fan crush to flat out stalking.

I feel so bad/scared for Robert. To be tracked down like that? Just isn't right.

Poor Rob. He must have horrific anxiety and nightmares at night.

:(

Angie said...

U know what I find sadder than 15 year-olds running to Vancouver and tracking rob down?

43 year-old running after rob in vancouver.

Let the cat-fights begin.

Shani said...

Hey, they're grown women and if they want to spend their time and money tracking down sexy ass Rob it's on them. I'm not hating them...people can call them whatever. You can't rewind time back to stop them. No harm...no foul done...just saying.

Angie said...

Shani: More power to them for meeting the object of their lust...hell, when I met him I nearly passed out...let alone form a coherent sentence.

I'm just saying... where's the line? I mean there's stumbling into him... and then there is a full fledged stalker mission...when a 15 yr old does the latter... it's deemed obsessive but understandable... when a grown adult starts stalking there are bound to be a few questions.

Totally creepy. This is soooo extreme! They should be ashamed. I'm surprised the cast goes out at all. If I didn't know whether or not someone was going to be waiting for me in the BATHROOM, I'd be a very paranoid person. They're lovely people for taking this in stride, but it will get old and they'll begin getting grumpy. As anyone would. I won't blame them when they do.

Kristen said...

if i had the money and the time and my husband didnt mind, i would so be there...call me crazy =) i do visit the robsessed blog several times a day to ogle!

Anonymous said...

I live very close to Vancouver and I am an mature fan I cannot image doing this!!! Yes no wonder why Robert is nervous to go out. This person that helps, that is just crazy!!!

I am laughing because I am wondering if this people think Vancouver is a small town? Therefore iy is a little easier to find him. Maybe?? It is a little bit bigger than that.

Anon 2:33 LOL "What brings you to the country"

erin said...

What the hell?

Uhhh...yeah. Line crossed. Many times. Really not funny at all.

ellainie said...

Kristen~I am like u. I'm not above looking for him at all!

Thirty~LMAO, at least u tell it like it is! Exactly! A serve yourself w/ Rob buffet! Who wouldn't want that?

I'm so screwed up right now I can't function. My DH just brought in a package w/ PE in it. W/ all the pics today and this, I am a goner.

Everyone talks about the older women, well hell I'm one! I am young at heart and he is drop-gorgeous!

Yvonne said...

I don't think it's creepy at all. Maybe a little extreme, but not creepy. They are to grown women, sisters, who probably thought,"how much fun would it be to go...?!" They had an opportunity and they grabbed it.... They didn't do anything wrong, not like Rob needed to call the police on them or anything.

elainnie said...

Y~I agree. It is not like they were sneaking around like some. They were very open and got lucky. I'm jealous! First of all, I probably wouldn't have the nerve to track him or be that fortunate.

Yvonne said...

elainniieeyyy...is that how you spell it?

So when do we leave for Vancouver? Don't forget to tell crazy... :)

Nicky said...

Yah, I find it hard for me to judge them for what they did, I mean at Xmas time this year, I was living in Hammersmith, London and...yes...I did walk over the Thames to Barnes and wander around abit....but only for an hour...does that make me nutty???? :)

Chicago girl now in LA said...

Shani, Yvonne, elainnie~I totally agree with you all---does Rob look angry in the photo? No. In fact, he looks pretty damn happy. I think he looks a bit "Sex Drive" premiere with shorter hair. Love that look on him!

I say, no harm, no foul. Maybe I'm naive, but I basically think people are good. Rob has a nice fan base. We already know he has bodyguards to look out for anyone over the line.

I was glad to get his autograph last fall at the premiere, though it was nothing like the extra time these ladies get. I think they had a fun adventure and I think if the production were smart, they'd set up safe "meets and greets" to satisfy the fans.

Also, maybe I'm sticking my neck out here but what is wrong with Rob signing a book? Should he sign a napkin or an arm or a ripped piece of paper? I see nothing wrong with being prepared should you have a Rob meeting.

After all, so many women are prepared for nearly every possibility and carry it all in large totes/purses--so what's the big deal about having a book?

Martina said...

My ex couldn`t stand my drooling over Rob, so I doubt that he would give me plane tickets to stalk him down. :/

TwiHartRK said...

Awww you mean it's not cool to just hang out somewhere on the off chance you might run into him?? If I was IN the same town as Rob and I "happened" to know where he "might" show up it would be hard to resist stalking a LITTLE bit. Just to get a glimpse of him in the flesh. Guess that's why I can't criticize.

Flying across the country seems like going overboard and my DH would probably divorce me! Hmmm, filing that away...

ellainyie said...

Y~sorry left for minute! don't say if u don't mean it! lol I'm ready! We must tell Crazy! and u spelled it right.

Chicago girl!"u wanna go?" U met him? sigh!

Are u getting whiplash from all the threads today?

elainnyie said...

Twi~my husband is an attorney, do u want divorce papers drawn up so u can go w/ us to Vancouver? lol

TwiHartRK said...

Hey Elainie - my DH is an attorney too so I hope your's is bad ass...

I'm KIDDING - and why waste a perfectly good girls weekend and airline miles to travel somewhere non-tropical!!!

My fav is still Holly Conway's account of meeting him. She really did just happen to be in the same place as him but she didn't pass up the chance to meet him and she was very polite.

I seriously wouldn't do this but you know what a Pollyanna I am and won't judge.

ellainyie said...

Twi~ darn, we would have a battle on our hands. Better leave ur DH alone. My husband doesn't do divorces, but w/ you maybe he'd make an exception! lol

How about Italy? If u don't like the rain!

TwiHartRK said...

Now you're talking E!!!!

I don't know what it is, but his hair is especially delicious in this pic.

The green eyed monster rears it's ugly head!! You guys are ridiculous! Here you are, commenting a blog that you follow, called Robsessed. Who are you to judge these two women??? I think it's cool! What about people that live there that are stalking the sets?? (Not, that I think anything is wrong with it, more power to them!) You guys crack me up! LOL

Kristen said...

ellainie, yvonne, leanne, chicago girl~

sounds like we have a nice little group of us who should hang out...in VANCOUVER! Lol. =)

elainnie, kristin, Yvonne, Leanne~I'm in...would be fun to get away from the heat...100 degrees here in LA today!

Taps Anon @ 8:50, on the shoulder, eh hmm, "Here you are, commenting a blog that you follow, called Robsessed." Aren't YOU leaving YOUR opinion here?? LOL

Anonymous said...

Sorry, but what type of losers fly all the way from TN to Vancouver to track down a guy, lmao. Those chicks need a life!

elainnie said...

Chicks, "I leave for 2 minutes and the wolves descend!" Have u been reading some of these other threads! Viscious!

So glad Yv, Leann, Chic girl, Twi, and others are cool, calm, and Robsessed lol~wow, have we had a Robilicious day. Yes, I'm ready for a girls road trip!

Just finished CH 48 of WA! That angst goddess is addicting, as if I need another one.

Diane said...

I think we need to be careful about judging each other when it comes to what crosses the line. People and situations are different. It's kind of like trying to define "obscenity." It's very subjective.

I personally find it less offensive that someone might go out of their way to find him and politely ask for a picture, depending on what he's doing at the time, than some of the stuff I've seen on here - people who say if they ever meet him they'll just grab him or kiss him or hug him no matter what cause it will be their "only chance." Now that's an invasion of his personal space. Tacky.

But again, that's just my view. I'm sure everyone's is different.

elainnie said...

Kristen~ definitely hang out to Robsess!

TwiHartRK said...

Diane - Obscenity is usually defined by the community it takes place in and what a reasonable person should expect in a given situation. Any reasonable person visiting this site should expect some silly talk about ass grabbing at Rob. I talk about it but wouldn't ACTUALLY do it. I GET having a fun girls trip to accidentally 'run into' Rob. I wouldn't actually do it myself. I don't know why but it seems different than just running into the cast somewhere.

Kristen said...

i should start a robsessors anonymous in my area...not to "get better" per say...just to get together and robsess! obviously running into him isnt likely in any city, but one can dream! =) i really would go to vancouver(hell even italy) and hang in hopes of a chance meeting if my budget allowed tho, nothin like a fun girls vakay with lots of talk of rob!

Kristen said...

elainnie!!!

i am so excited to "meet" someone else who understands the obsession with WA!!! omgoshhhh!!! even more we can obsess about together! lol...

Anonymous said...

Okay....So to those who are making fun of the these ladies calling them "stalkers"..... ummmm you're on Robobsessedpattinson.com on a Monday....you'd do the same thing in a heartbeat if you thought you had a chance to meet Rob.

Anonymous said...

Anon @ 2.16am. I believe that most of the people who visit fan sites and leave there comments have a like minded reason for this. I for one will agree that I do have an obsession with RP. Whether it is healthy or not it is my business and I hurt no one with my "addiction". I like to visit the fan site to see what is news in Robs world. On days, the comments are more entertaining than the news. (well almost.)
There is a group of fans here who get carried away sometimes and make over the top suggestions. A few risque comments (irony and understatement here)but some really bloody funny ones as well.
My philosophy...you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. What we mostly appear to have here are fans of Rob who sit at home/work on a computer and make contact with others who share this common interest(although there is not much that is common about Rob. It can be entertaining and informative (thanks to Godze).
On the other hand getting in another persons personal space when they are out having fun with their friends or just going about their daily routines is just plain rude. So many of the so called fan encounters I have read about can be explained in only one way... Stalking....
These people seem to thrive on their one minute with fame so good luck to them. I notice they are all quick to post it up on Youtube or fan sites so they are putting their actions out there in the public arena to be dissected. No one should cry foul if people then disagree with their actions.

Anonymous said...

Anon @ 2.16am It's very different to visit a website from your home than hop on a plane from TN to Vancouver and stalk a celebrity, very, very different!

Anonymous said...

Can't we all just admit it. We love Rob, we want to meet Rob. If we had free tickets and thought we had a good chance of meeting him, we'd go. Yes, it seems crazy, but there is a big dif between someone going to a cool town with hopes of running into him, vs a person jumping over his fence and sending him notes with the letters cut out of the newspaper.
