Loved the last scene but I think they should have kept it in as a daydream of his showing his blood lust. Also wished that a magazine did a photo shoot of them like how they were doing the vintage Dracula thing. I thought she really looked pretty, Rob was kinda hot, and the darkness of it just kind of popped.

Somebody explain to me why a scene like this would even take place in this movie.
The classmates are not reacting, so it's supposed to be a dream or thought. Whose? Bella would imagine Edward was a vampire? Certainly not at that point. Edward's imagination? The whole movie was Bella's POV, and perspective.
OR, maybe this was filmed just for the DVD? That makes more sense. Would also explain the boob grab. Not sure how i feel about that.

Crazy~ I think that Catherine was just trying different things to see how they might work with the story. I think it was surpose to show what Edward was thinking or wanting to do. I think they were adding elements of Midnight Sun. In the movie companion book it was mentioned that she does that, like she wanted to see how Edward would look with longer hair, so Rob had extensions put in.

Jewels~ the Borders Exclusive has this on it. I thought it was only on the 3rd disc at Target??? I had preordered from Borders but then changed to Target to get the 3rd disc which said that the vampire montage, Edward concert , etc was on the 3rd disc
I don't think the hand-in-the-shirt is a fluke at all. I think it was probably Rob, springing from a deep understanding of Edward's character, who talked Catherine into doing this. In an interview with Shaun from Access Hollywood he said that he thinks the fascination with vampires has a lot to do with the connection between sex and death. She agreed with him and I also agree. Look what a POWERFUL response it elicited from all of us!
Totally agree with those who think this is an expression of Midnight Sun ... during Biology Edward is thinking that he can kill everyone in the entire classroom before they even realize it, so it makes sense that none of the students have noticed what is going on. Also, that planaria on the board is a very strong phallic symbol. I think the scene "works" very nicely.
Whenever you start pushing the boundaries of personal space like this, both actors have to be complicit. Why think it was Hardwicke behind it? I remember an interview where Rob said he and Kristin had gone even further than Katherine had expected in some kissing takes, as if to "scare" teenage girls by showing the intensity behind this kind of desire. So adding sex lust to the blood lust may have come straight from Mr. P himself.
.... and yes, the shot of that enormous penis up on the board is about as unsubtle as it gets! As subtle as Rob's GQ crotch shot with the extended thumb!!

That scene is fuel to the fantasy fire! I understand the effort to make it "scary" ... but it's just HOT HOT HOT to me. It might be the very first thing I watch when I get my DVD... I've had a hard time deciding what to watch first - but I think I know now!
