Monday Morning Downer : Only a Man

Check out this beautiful video made by FakerParis at Thinking of Rob. It is a downer but it's good for the soul. It's good to remember next time you get angry at him for not coming over to sign your stuff or take a picture with you...

It's a beautiful and sad video, I think everything change in NY for him, and is sad, hope the young girls can get that, respect his space.

Beautifully done vid...

I partially agree with you orion, but this started long before the NY epic.

This started at the U.K. premier and then continued wherever he went. We are all equally to blame. We look at the pictures, the videos of him being harrassed/stalked, even if we hate doing it, we still do - it's supply on demand!

I know if I saw him it would be hard to keep a distance, I think I'd have to say hello - it's still an intrusion... :'(

We just have to remember to respect him and tell people NOT to scream. That would help so much.

I do feel like he must be so overwhelmed. I wish we could all do something to help, but we are part of the problem as you said.

I dunno where he will be this week, or after RM finishes filming, but I hope he gets to spend some time with his best friend MARCUS FOSTER before he leaves the states from having done gigs here playing music. Rob works WAY TO HARD.

WE LOVE YOU ROB. Take care of Rob. Please rest and eat something. Make some music. Please....
love,
debbo

its a bit sad, he's only a 23 years old guy that wants to live his life and do his job, or better follow his passions and he fell into a crazyness that he could never expect and dont know how to manage it...I RESPECT ROB AND HIS LIFE, I WONT NEVER STALK OR MOBB HIM IN ANYWAY..FANS SHOULD JUST FOLLOW HIS CAREER AND LEAVE HIM ALONE...

@Snix, I can't agree more with your comment. We are all [almost] equally to blame, but indeed we all. He totally deserves a break and probably it depends on our own demands of news & pics & vids & everything related to Robert. Surely we all need a rob-break as well...

I really admire the honest and thoughtful work of justfp. Her vids, her blog are just a sort of more than welcome necessity.

This is an absolutely beautiful video. Thanks for sharing it.

However, I personally REFUSE to view Rob as any type of "victim".

Is some of the crap he is dealing with a little annoying? Yea, for sure. Do I think he is suffering?

Ahhh, no.

He is currently immersed in a role right now that is powerfully intense and emotional. I'd imagine turning off that switch at the end of a day shooting, might be a bit difficult.

For all those girls who are now hating on him for not stopping to wash their feet... I've learned the hard way to LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS.. He didn't ask you to come to his workplace and wait for hours. He does not OWE anyone, anything.. besides a good performance.

I think we all happily saw the same old ROB at ComicCon.

Here is my "counter video"

Rob, is still Rob.

This Video is absolutely lovely and a good reminder that Rob is...first and foremost...a person.

An Incredibly GORGEOUS person to be sure but a person nonetheless.

Good reminder to all of us to keep that in mind.

Thanks for sharing this, Gozde! ☺

It is SAd.. because ALL Rob wanted to do is to find WORK again as an ACTOR!
NEVER did he EXPECT CHAOS would be around!

Hopefully things would CALM down for HIM after Twilight. The fans to give him SPACE. For Rob to be able to continue his craft...for us REAL FANS to Enjoy!

A TRUE FAN here...Good Luck Mr. Pattinson!!

Suz, I totally agree with you. It's annoying, but Rob is no victim. He handles it with a very level head and his feet firmly on the ground.

It's so sad :( I even feel guilty.
I want him to have privacy, but at the same time I want to see new pics and videos, and if I could I'd go to see him in person.
I dreamt of him once, and in that dream my first instinct was to run to him, to scream, but I stayed calm because I knew it was the best for him. When he came to my side (it was my dream :P ) I apologized for recognizing him (I said: "I'm sorry but I know who you are") and he smiled to me. Well, after some words I woke up because I started to feel dizzy (too much for my body :P)

That made me want to cry. I think it's about boundries and how the fans act that make a difference. He appriciates the fans it's just hard to take when you have a bunch of screaming people in your face.Respect his space, let him do his job, he just may thank you with a hello or an autograph as he's done before. If not just enjoy him from a distance and be thankful for all he's given to us via, movies, interviews, and music.

The papz wouldn't be dreaded as much if they showed some class in how they went about getting pictures, interviews, etc. Instead they're intrusive, crass and inappropriate in their methods.

My hope for Rob is to find a small hole in the wall club with an open mic night,in some small out of the way place with his friends. I think he deserves some rejuvination for his soul.

Suz, thanks for the link to your vid, very yummy... ;)

It was lovely seeing him at Comic Con, relaxed and enjoying himself - the good part of his career choice.

I work in a secondary school, I love my job 99% of the time, does that mean it's ok for teenagers to swear at me, offer to knock me out if they're not happy when I enforce school policy, no of course not. Thankfully it's something that doesn't happen very often and it certainly doesn't mean I'm going to give up my chosen career.

Rob's not a victim in the true sense of the word, but there are consequences to his success, I'm sure it's a huge compliment that we admire him so much. I quite often have kids telling me I'm 'ace' or 'cool', but if they ran up to me in the corridor jumping over me, or hung about outside my home...

After saying all that A's comment is so true, we can only stab a guess.

Suz and Snix, I agree and I'd be lying if I said I didnt really feel sorry for his situation at times.

Dont get me wrong, I look at all the pap pics, watch all the vids like everyone else but there is a palpable need from everyone, media and fans alike, for more Rob.

I mean, I know he doesnt owe anyone anything besides a good preformance but I can imagine the pressure of feeling like you DO owe them something. No doubt a 'dancing monkey' complex would set in at times.

I do understand Rob's situation but for someone who is so shy it must be a nightmare. How does he do it? How does he 'act' as he did in front of all those bystanders on the set of RM and in front of all the heckling, spiteful paparrazi. Over at the OLV site someone has said that he finished filming at 1.40am Sunday morning but didn't acknowledge the small crowd of people quietly waiting so of course he's the bad guy again. He's probably had enough but how different from last year when he was happy to approach fans and chat and sign autographs etc. He just can't seem to win at the moment and I hate to see him 'bashed' for maybe something that isn't entirely his fault. But just what has changed?

The video was really beautiful. It actually brings you back down and makes you realize that he is no different than any of us and I'm sure we would want our space if the roles were reversed. The world of celebrities and how they are treated was made long before any of us existed and we all follow in suit. Unfortunatley it has only become worse through time due to the high demand for continuous coverage on the internet. I truly hope the man is able to take some time and rest before the insanity of the next film arrives. Hopefully he can find some little hole in the wall pub where he can release his tensions and perform his music. That would probably be the most cathartic and what he needs to do after dealing with the high demand hes had for the past while. Like I always say be respecful and observe him and his art from a distance. You would probably want the same.

I love FP's videos and this one is beautiful..

@Suz...love yours too, and I tend to agree with you...

to the fans that do get angry at him they need to grow up and learn some respect...he has a right to work and a right to privacy just like anyone else...but I don't think he's unhappy or sad or miserable.

I hope to see him someday soon, and I hope to say hi.

I got so pissed when I heard that dude say "Hey Rob, how do you feel about getting stalked at the airport, HUH?"

I'M SO MAD! What a fucking asshole!

GREAT VIDEO.

it is what it is, theres no turning back the clock for ROB.and this beast cant go back in the box.
and you know we're never going to stop wanting more ROB, never...

HOPEFULLY ROB TAKES A LITTLE MORE CONTROL OF HIS LIFE, ITS TIME HE CALLS SOME OF THE SHOTS.

Kay R. said...

He's simply too damn hot and we all want a piece of that.

Nai said...

even though a lot of those pics are taken from when he was shooting RM where he plays a character that is clearly tortured- this is one of the saddest effen videos I have ever seen. Beautiful, but sad. If I ever had the chance to be around Rob, I wouldn't scream. I know he hates the screaming. I think being in wide open NYC was a bit of an issue. He is much more guarded in remote places like Vancouver. People will always love him, but I think the screaming will die down as his fans age and as people get more used to him.

Breaks my heart, I think would have lost my mind and patience with people. He has much more tolerance than you would expect. Love to watch his career grow. Living in NY, it is very embarrassing to watch how he was stalked and harassed.

Treasure_7 said...

Great video!! Rob is just a man and a very pretty gorgeous one at that! I do hope that he can find sometime for himself without being stalked and every move watched. I think that he has really dealt well with all of it.

i was definitely moved by this video..

@Snix: probably a Hi or a simple hello wouldn't hurt.. but no assaulting hugs or autographs..

i totally agree.. we just have to respect his space..

im deeply aching on the photos of him rubbing his face, burying it on his knees, the habit of messing up with his hair usually when tensed..

and here i ache and rant as if i know rob personally.. just by looking at so many photos and videos, i'm daydreamin' i understand his personality.. T_T
